First thing he does is a quick Krav Maga burst move, where he both defends his vital organs from the knife with his forearm (getting slashed is almost always better than getting stabbed) and attacks weak spots on his opponent at the same time... afterwards he does a kotegaeshi, a japanese disarming technique where you manipulate his joints and wrists. But remember folks, he didn't stress this enough. 1. First you run. 2. If you can't run, put objects between yourself and the guy attacking you. 3. If you've got a jacket, wrap it around your arms to minimize the cuts. 4. Lastly, you do the technique demonstrated in this video if escaping is not an option.

Tom Hickman he was a reservist he was in the 21st regiment (artists) reserve not the regular 22nd regiment. There is a massive difference between a reservist and someone who is a regular in the SAS.
