Well done for spotting the completely deliberate error (*cough, honest guv) mistake on the Combined Team. Scott Barrett's name there in error. Kist wanted to check you were paying attention and watching till the end 😉
My best memories of rugby as a kid are waking up at 6am in Ireland to watch the tri nations while eating cereal lol. There was something magical about the early 2000s tri nations with king Carlos , carter , umaga, howlett, Gregan, larkham,Roff , Latham . I think this will be the best rugby championship yet! All blacks are under new management, aus finally have a competent coach , Argentina have a new coach , springboks out to prove a point that they can actually show up outside of world cups and lions tours.
brianodriscoll2725 Lol australia had 3 world class coaches kiwi coaches go through the wallabies team and there is NOTHING WRONG WITH THOSE COACHES 😂😂😂 It’s the Aussie players simply not good enough lol probably crap attitudes you can’t teach someone that already knows everything lol along with no passion No skills Those coaches Deans, Renny and now Schmidt had world class records BEFORE wallabies and AFTER the wallabies 😂 If any of those 3 coaches had the All Blacks they would be World Champions now NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT 🫵😉
@@fu8713 aus sacked Dave rennie just after he brought a wallabies B team on European tour and outplayed Ireland and France with that B team. He was building something good before they sacked him for jones.
sam cane, samapeni finau and reiko not being in show how spot on razor is. Amazing. Intra team competition is strong now. Sam darry is there for the lineouts. Its a great choice. Full backs are stacked. Centres stacked. Wings stacked. Forward pack awesome. Half backs are solved even with roigard not back. Only weak area now is first 5 but just in depth.
I would argue that lock is still a weak point. Tuipolutu is experienced but after all these years vaai still hasnt taken his chances, darry is still young but promising and after barrett, there is a massive drop off. Compared to the springbok locks they have us over experience by far still basically the same from the wc. Still gonna cheer on the boys too
The weakest area is in fact 12.. Jordie Barrett is a patsy that runs lateral lines.. NZ have always been strongest with a direct, wrecking ball 12 (that has the skills to also offload) Little, Nonu, SBW etc
Don't forget Fabian Holland is in the pipeline. Will be keenly observing his continued development in NPC/Super before he's eligible for selection next year.
I agree with the changes to the ABs in 6 and 13. Finau and Ioane just haven't been good enough. Good to see Sam Darry get a chance at lock. Let the rebuilding phase begin.
YES Tim... time has dragged. I thought after coming back from Durban and an endless 55 week long season I was rugbyed out.. Hardly a few weeks go by and despite the olympics ( and rugby 7's) here I am suffering withdrawal symptons and so signed up for a subscription so I can watch the Rugby Championship at 6am in the morning. First time to watch it and can't wait.
I have a feeling that the Pumas will do well at the breakdown and the AB's will win, but by not much. Thank you for the good videos, although I didn't like you when I first saw you 😁 but you're a good chap.
Finaus first touch in the first test match against England he got tackled out by Marcus Smith. You can’t tell me Marcus Smith would have bundled Jacobson or Blackadder just into touch. They would have stepped in and tried ti bump him off. Finau hasn’t been the physical beast they hoped. Blackadder you have a guy that will go all day
Lineout's were a big issue against England and with 2 relative newbies named against Argentina, I hope we win at least get 85% of our own ball. Great to see ALB at outside centre, would have preferred Procter but at least Reiko has been slotted out. Go well boys !
Great preview, Tim. Well pointed out about Moroni as wing, but given his history and his tackles, I would place him anywhere on the field, excluding as prop, 2nd. row or fly half, and I would field him on any of the best teams in the world, as well. He is a very reliable player. As for NZ, they can field their third best squad and still be unbeatable by Los Pumas. The crowd, as all kiwis are known, will be respectful, so to your disappointment, there should not be any booing. 😇
Reiko hasn't been playing well enough. The loose forwards were missing against England papalii and Taylor lucky to start. Lord is short of rugby, like Jordan, but is a very promising lock
Interesting and exciting selection for the ABs. Looks like plans are to absorb all pressures from Argentina in the early part of the game and then running them off their feet with Ioane and Jordon in the later part. Best opportunity to give McKenzie a break later and shifting Beauden to 10. Beauden hasn’t played there for the ABs for some time. He was initially picked as a 10. Best opportunity to give Beauden a run there … before the matches against the Springboks.
Hi Tim, NZ definitely light on locks and we knew it was going to be at least for the next 12 moths, Thought the two young U20 locks for the baby blacks looked pretty handy for the future . Are they on your radar at all?
Lock and the loose forward mix are big problem areas for the All Blacks. They look very weak between 4 and 9 (outside of Savea). There’s a lack of size and height which could impact the breakdown and the lineout. This is an All Blacks side that may beat the argies but it doesn’t look like a side that could beat SA in SA.
I am not fan of Blackadder.Shannon Fritzel is very hard to replace. Walker-Leawere is mobile lock with high work rate. He is 6ft 6 ins and he would be great at blindside.
I intensely dislike backup 10 being on the field at 15 getting tired out from start of game. I would have put Plummer on the bench instead of Reiko if i was going to start Beaudan. Ratima unlucky not to be starting with TJ coming off an injury. Will be interesting to see if Codie Taylor's lineout is still rubbish like it was for the crusaders and against england.(rest of his game is fine) I'm hopeful for Australia at home, I can't see Argentina matching the ABs up front, all 3 loosies in better form than NZ gives them a chance.
a centre is only as good as the second five ALB is a second five and creates space for his centre barrett at second five doesnt create space for his centre partner
Reiko is an amazing athlete, and this covers a lot but he just does not work his back 3 into space and this has very little to do with the 12, the same 12 does not have that same problem with more conventional 13s. Reiko needs the space to use his strength and pace and modern top draw defence systems do not give it, he would have been better staying on the wing. This is a good selection 1 - 15.
@@karllincoln6859 if the second five isn’t penetrating the inside backs defence then that doesn’t create the outside space for his centre partner it means the defence line will be able to number up against the attack
Reiko needs to go back to wing, we need his pace. Savea to 7, Sam Cane go down at training and get Sotutu in to the mix. This man had the most try assists in Super rugby and equalled record number of trys. Not sure about Jordie at 12 but would have liked to have seen him paired with Proctor. Caleb Clarke must be wondering what more he has to do. Bench right place for Jordan. His last game for ABs in world cup was poor by his standards. Would not be surprised to see BB at 10 for Boks and Jordan to start at 15. Mcakenzie bench.
Blackadder - what do people see in him? Apart from missing tackles and running around like a headless chicken. Stick with Finau. Extra height, big fear factor. Let him grow into the role, like Jerome Kaino, he wasn’t perfect at the beginning of his career.
Blackadder -Slackbladder the most overrated NZ loosie. Looks busy does little, vast majority of his involvements are neutral or negative. Half the bench are better than the starters.
As a springbok supporter who has the highest respect for the mighty all blacks, I would not feel comfortable with this all blacks team if I was a New Zealander

I think Billy Proctor is the answer to ABs 13 -he is awesome and a regular partner of JB
Putting Lavanini on the bench is smart. At least when hes yellow carded itll be in the second half with little time left of the game. Smart.
You are busy Tim
Lol, my thoughts exactly
To be fair, he hasn't gotten carded in ages now, both for Clermont and Argentina

how can we change your mind about reece... he is the best wing in NZ and possibly the world
And Sevu has a great workrate. He gets stuck into rolling mauls like an extra forward and goes looking for work.
Absolutely his work rate is immense
@@SR-zc2zi At one point in 2022 he was also leading the super rugby competition in ruck turnovers
And it was this season that he proved that, while playing for a shitty crusaders team,.
Such a shame he missed the world cup. Was so disappointed.

Very excited to see how the AB midfield will perform😎
cody taylor will have to pick up his line out game. wasnt the best last few matches
ALB is a good centre, but has been prone to injury. I always felt Rieko was an outstanding winger, but average for a centre
Razor will start Cane against the SA 🙏
Hi Tim, NZ definitely light on locks and we knew it was going to be at least for the next 12 moths, Thought the two young U20 locks for the baby blacks looked pretty handy for the future . Are they on your radar at all?
Dear Tim: Moroni on the wing is to interchange the position with Cinti (who is a more natural winger).

There's been sevens. Some pretty good Olympic rugby
Gonna be seismic activity between the Abs loosies and the Pumas loose forwards
I think this is a safer team just to get the first one in the Bag for the ABs, next week if results go well expect a more experimental team.
Scott Barrett in the combined Tim?
ABs second row not established
Why pumas don't play Glasgow winger Seb Cancelleri I have no idea
Good call
There is plenty of equal talent in that position.
I personally don't like him, and we have a lot of fast and skillful wingers.
sad for clarke he needs a run
Yes I think he’s better than Talea for winger so big and strong both of them Talea keeps cutting back in instead of backing himself for the corner
Agreed.
I feel it's only a matter of time. If Clark holds up his form in catching the high ball, Razor will likely have him for the Boks matches
I think Moroni is there for defensive reasons to try and keep Telea quiet. Similar to when England have started Marchant on the wing.
Yeah I was wondering about that too Henry you're probably right as telea is so elusive and hard to tackle and looks for work
Throwing away Goodhue was a big mistake
