Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves and fairies have been coexisting since the beginning of time, this action-thriller directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End of Watch, writer of Training Day) follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward, a human (Will Smith), and Jakoby, an orc (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine night patrol that will alter the future of their world as they know it. Battling both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which in the wrong hands could destroy everything.

I've watched a few of your SDCC panel videos and they're always great. Front row. Almost dead center. Do you camp out? Do you just live in Hall H for four days? (since I know they don't (usually) clear rooms.) My only question/complaint is why don't you just film/release the whole panel? Why do 'highlights'? I would also advide naming the video in the same naming convention as the official SDCC Guide/Program Schedule (ie "SDCC 2017 Netflix Films: Bright and Death Note panel") to make it easier for people to search. Thanks for your coverage.

That's really not true! Edgar Ramirez, Noomi Rapace and Joel Edgerton as well as David Ayer have gained enough of names for themselves over the years in their native countries and even in the states as well oas worked in the comic book/fantasy genre. I'm sure a comicon audience of all fans definitely know who they are and appreciate the work!

Was there even an audience there? I've never heard a panel audience so quiet lol.
Like all the rest of the Comic Con panels, they don't mic the audience, so we can hear what the panelists are saying, they are also using mic's that don't pick up that much ambiance sounds. Still, some of the audience is picked up by the mic's, so they are definitely not quiet, lol.

Manuel David Ah, that makes more sense to me because you can hear them fine towards the end of the panel but when they tried to get cheers in the beginning ...silence lol. Thanks for the feedback!

I used to think Edgar Ramirez was a typical Latino pretty boy. But then I heard an interview with him and his charisma, philanthropy and intelligence blew me away so I started to appreciate him as an actor!

David Ayer isn't throwing shots at WB. I think he was referring to Universal because he was directing the new Scarface film but then they wanted to make it pg-13 so he walked away from the project because he and many other believe it should remain R rated. They said his vision was too dark. I doubt it was WB considering he is still working for them with Gotham City Sirens.

it jab at universal sadly, not wb. he was directing scarface remake and the studio decided to make it pg-13 so he walked away from the project. with ss just the studio cut sucked but they did not impose much on him, not every film b a director is a hit, he has lows too. he is still with wb to do gotham city sirens.
The studio ditched his cut of SS, fought him continuously on the final cut of the movie to an extent that multiple cuts existed at one point in time that were made to compete with one another, including a cut made by a company that makes trailers, which is the one they ultimately released. I agree that all directors have their highs and lows, but SS was not a true David Ayer cut or vision. His low, according to me, is Sabotage, but even it is a mile better than SS.
honestly, the director's cut was rubbish too. i feel like he went overboard with that film, all over the place (tbh i can't stand the harley/joker parts, they make me vomit), but it's still entertaining. well it can be considered a low at how lowly it was received, the fans might not care, the studio might not care cause it made money, but as a director and his/hers cv, discussable. though he might have jabs at wb for sure none the less, but that particular jab was at universal.
lyanne , I am sure his cut would have at least been more coherent than the confusing cut we got from a trailer studio. And, according to Leto, the amount of scenes filmed with the joker would have made its own movie. So Ayer's cut would have definitely done him more justice. I don't consider SS Ayer's mistake. It's all WB's doing.
p.s.: If you are referring to the Extended cut that WB released on Blu-ray, that was not Director's Cut. It was an extended studio cut.

Will Smith is the best, such a nice and humble person, Comic con for him is like going to the bakery, and I laugh how surprised and joyful he is when Edgar Ramirez said it his 1st comic con. at the min 20:02. I can't wait to see this project.

He said “I have daughters, and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit.” Yeah. Sure. With characters such as a psycho, eco-terrorist and a thief. I think he's just bad at it.
