Hi Sarah! The band sampler is so close to a finish! I can see why you want to keep going. I can’t wait to see it completed! We’re in the midst of a late-winter snow storm with 8-16 inches expected! I hope this will be the last as I really want Spring temperatures and flowers to arrive! Have a wonderful week.
Hi, Sarah! Love all your progress! Me too this week have to change March stitching plans - I need to start a new project for a birthday present for my friend Klara from Boston Happy stitching! ❤
"It was time change Sunday and I took a nap." A more relatable statement has never been made!! 🤣 Your Chatelaine is turning out gorgeous and you got a TON done on it since last time! Can't wait to see the finish. It made me want to pull my Chatelaine (Polar Mandala) out also! I'm almost finished with the center 1 over 1 section, which is huge, so I'm going to try to get it done by the time you finish your band sampler. :)
I would have changed my plans to finish Winter Band Sampler too - it's soooo close!! I have Petal Fairy and am going to stitch her on a single piece of fabric with Bliss Fairy with the two facing each other. I'm trying to settle on a piece of fabric for them, but I hope to start them soon. (I have fabric ordered from BestitchMe, so I know it may be a while.. hopefully one of the ones I ordered will work!)
I completely understand that feeling. I took out my Halloween stitch, that I usually schedule for the 13th and last day of the month, yesterday the twelfth because I just wanted to work on it. There your plans, so you can change them.
You got so much done on the band sampler, I hope you can get it finished this month. That would be a great success for the „end“ of Winter ❄️ Such a beautiful piece 🥰
That's an interesting idea! The cross stitching in those areas is green, so I was assuming they were leaves. However they were intended, they're leaves now! ;D
Nora Corbett patterns are smaller than Mirabilia patterns (although they are both designed by Nora), so the designs usually span two regular size pages. There are older versions of the patterns that are one large piece of cardstock - when folded it's regular letter size, then you open it up and the pattern is printed sideways across the entire inside. They have versions now that are printed all on regular paper, so there is the challenge of matching up the design at the page breaks. I prefer the older versions because it's all on one page but is still more manageable than a large Mirabilia-sized pattern.
@@StitchinMommy Thank you so much for the concise answer. I have stitched the four seasonal angels by L&L and have the Noel Celtic lady in my WIP basket but am not a fan of the huge foldouts. We all have different likes and dislikes for sure. I like the idea of the patterns on individual pages as I find it easier to work with. I'm kicking around the idea of buying one of the pixie blossoms. Fingers crossed for regular paper!! Enjoyed your latest FlossTube and congratulations on your Winter Wonderland Band sampler - it's a beauty!
Hi Sarah, on the larger count fabrics do you choose to do the 2 over 1 stitch (half cross) or is that what the pattern calls for? You are inspiring me to do much more! Thanks 🤗❤️
I will often choose 2 over 1 half cross on 25 or 28 count for the large full coverage designs I have simply to save time. I have so many patterns that I want to stitch that this allows me to make progress a bit faster. The pattern just calls for a stitch, so a default reading of that would be a full cross - usually 1 over 1 on 25 or 28 count. I have a few done that way as well - things that are a bit smaller or that I think would benefit from the full cross look. I have a few that I've started now that are on 40 count - for those I am using a 1 over 1 half cross out of necessity because a full cross would be much too thick for a full coverage design.
It's called Winter Wonderland Band Sampler by Chatelaine. You can find it on their website: chatelaine.de/downloads/ocf-onl-090-the-winter-wonderland-band-sampler/
Perhaps a way to "make up time" is if you had an exceptionally good day on a project, cut the time allotted short and place in projects who had time lessened. And I fully support you getting a finish in. Although the wip count won't be affected as you're doing a new start right away lol. Lol at the floss stash enhancement. Black and greys seem to be what I go through the most frequently. My floss "shopping list" right now is grab more 310 & 762 during the next sale. (Maybe I just need to invest in a cone of doom...everything needs black - except Theresa Wentzlers lol.) I need to start thinking about a new start...except all my frames & qsnaps are occupied and nothing is close to a finish. Perhaps I'll focus on the "smallest" (115x115 ink circles) starting in April and hopefully by July get the frame available for the new start. (Maybe it's a good thing I like frames...no available frame = no new start allowed. 😄)
Another question, I obtained the pdf of Names of Jesus and really love your color choices. Could you tell me wich DMC colors you used? Thanks. I’m in Northern CA with the atmospheric rivers. 😅
I’m using some Victorian Motto threads that will probably be hard to find now - I’m not sure of the status of her business. But I can share close DMC substitutions that you could use or match to fancy floss that you have access to. Garden Rose is equivalent to DMC 815, Blue Sampler is close to DMC 336 and Golden Sandstone is close to DMC 420.
Thanks for the information on colors used. You have really inspired me to begin rotating all of my stitching projects. I have several full coverage pieces to start and continue as well as smaller pieces I would love to start and/or finish. I’m finishing a wedding gift for my grandson, but once that is done I will dive into all of the others.

The band sampler is gorgeous….changing plans makes sense to me.
Mirabilla is amazing. I’m enjoying your progress. Thank you for sharing.
The band sampler is beautiful! I understand that you want to finish it. Happy stitching!
Great progress, Sarah! I think the yellow/gold fairy will really pop on green for sure.
The green made total sense for the beads
Love the band sampler and totally get why you want to finish it!
It's nice to be so close to a finish and that you will complete it. The fence ha a lot of detail in it.
Just loving the chatelaine- it is beautiful. Look forward to seeing it finished next week!!

Happy stitching! ❤
The band sampler is so exquisite. It deserves to be seen and finished. Just amazing.
Plans are made for changing! I am really looking forward to seeing your band sampler finished! It’s beautiful!
Wonderful update as usual! Good for you for going to the dermatologist 👍😊
Thanks! There was another spot of concern that they did a biopsy on, and that came back clear, so it was a relief all around!
@@StitchinMommy Great news!
Very pretty pieces. Thanks for sharing

Wow Sarah your fairy is so very beautiful. I agree with others that the band sampler needs finishing. It's so lovely. Lovely video today Thank you x
Happy Stitching!
I put in a big fabric order with Cross Stitching Supplies as soon as I heard they were closing. So sad- they were my favorite ONS.

Love all your progress on your wips. Your band sampler is gorgeous. Happy stitching!
🤗 Thank you Sarah! Take care.❤
E-gads. Seven browns in the fence posts? It looks absolutely fantastic though. Fingers crossed you get it finished this week.
I can’t wait to see your chatelaine finished - it will be so beautiful!
Love how the band sampler is turning out. I'm so far behind on my wipgo goals lol
Love the band sampler. It is Gorgeous! Good idea to finish it. You go girl.

Great to see you Sarah. Seems longer this time. Everything looks great . Take care
Ride the wave girl, ride the wave! 😂
Loving the Advent Animals! 💝
Your Chatelaine is stunning!❤ I don’t blame you a bit for continuing with it.

Just a thought on the F Fairy - are those feathers instead of leaves? Your Chatelaine is looking beautiful!!! 💜 - Connie

Love the Christmas band sampler!! Quick question: Are Nora Corbett patterns one big fold out page or separate pages?

That is definitely a perk/problem with stitching in-hand - there's no limit on the number of new starts I can have! ;D
