2008 Duramax LMM Starter won't engage

We fix a common starting issue with the duramax platform. When the plastic wire protectors dry rot and fall apart, wires can rub through the jacket and short. We show you how to fix it.

Nice! There's quite a few potential area for electrical issues that I've discovered. The passengers side main ground to engine block being one on both gas and diesel on 07 - 13 trucks.

Appreciate the video! I was getting a click and intermittent starting. I traced my purple wire to worn insulation near the starter itself. Wrapped some loom and tape around it and it's good to go. Finding your video saved me a lot of stress, time, and money. You're a hero!

Thanks! I had just spent $2,800 on repairs to my truck, ran it for a week went on vacation and its been sitting in the garage for probably 30 days. Went to start it yesterday and it was like the dash was demon possessed. I'll have to give this a try tracking down that wire and fuse. Thanks! Just one comment though. If the insulation on that wire is worn through, it really should be repaired or replaced. GMC/Chevy should have put those wires in conduit to begin with.
