Mainly due to when you say positive or negative pitch it's exactly when you need to hit it. Those simple spoken words helped me more than any other youtube video. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I know that it will help me with my flying. Lots of good tips as well. I always have issues when it comes to going inverted and nose in. Time to hit the simulators as I just got a tarot 450 pro v2 fbl setup and I really don't want to put it in the ground. But again. Thanks for the video.
+mooseflier I will just tell you, if you want one of the most realistic flight sim, buy a Phoenix sim, it have all there exist, and you connect your own controller, and fly and crash without it cost any... It have taken a year of my flying. 1 year ago I had never flown a Chopper, only 4 channals and no 3D. 1 year after I can fly a Goblin 700 inverted and landed it safe, and I had never flown some bigger then Blade 230s. Which I NOT controlled as well as the big 700, they are a bit more controllable I find... More easy to flip. A little can be all over the place, and it's like every correction you make, fast force you to make a new... But of course its small corrections all the time. It's not that different from a real heli, and I will bet any there fly Chopper 3d well would fast learn to fly a real school chopper... It's just a bit strange a real Chopper have the throttle and you turn it like a handle on a Bike... But with left arm, and it also go up and down. The rotor with your 2 feet, and the aileron with hands. A funny thing with a real Chopper is, you dont use the Rotor as much, or more right, you need use it all time, for the Chopper wanna turn natural because of turning props, so the faster you fly, the more Rotor to keep the Chopper from no turning... And I just love Autorotation. I have tried it IRL, and it's a VERY safe landing, and very controllable... I used to find a Chopper very dangerous to fly, but I much rather go down with auto rotation, then in a giant jumbo... Any day. :) Hey hey fly foks
Fantastic tutorial. I'm still a learner at the moment, just basic hovering, so it'll be a while before I put this to good use but I will refer back to it.
As Tom said, in 3d mode the throttle is constant. He did not tell you however, the throttle is actually the Left stick (in the US, called mode 2). The throttle and collective are mixed by your radio.
i watched this vid for like the 4th time. outstanding skills to do it slower than normal. Nice job... and I love the sound of the blades. I used to have zero desire to fly 3D and you're inspiring me.
The throttle on 3D helicopters are constant, so when I take off, I flick a switch which puts the heli into 100% throttle. Then I only control the collective. There a quite a few tutorials for beginners on youtube already if you have a search. Thanks!
well put over and easy to understand , tried loops today with my 130x and 230s and went well but too nervous to try with 550 dom yet , like you say its nerves , if you can handle your nerves then you are 1/2 way there or more !

many a helicopter will crash even with your step by step instructions. The combination of spatial disorientation while simultaneously trying to watch your sticks will absolutely cause crashes.
Why do you never use the rotor to turn the Chopper???? The new flyer. Thx for good learning videos. It's like I dont see you use the Rotor, and I cant turn fast without I feel... ???? Hope you have time for answer.

Thanks for the vid! im getting comfortable with a trex 150X, been trying to flip in idle up but it just seems to tilt back about 60 degrees and keep flying backwards. I tried negative pitch to maybe force it on over but it will just go forward and down at same tilt. I cant seem to push past that point and go inverted? on simulator its no problem just +pitch, pull back and then -pitch, pull back

How did it go? I got the v400d01. I get nervous as well. In fact its an all out adrenaline rush sometimes, even get a bit shakey. but he stated it best that Its not your skill level but rather your nerve level. By the way Nice Flying Tom....
I have the RF 7.5 sim and have been getting pretty good at hovering and sport flying helis...my question is, now I want to begin some 3D stuff, so should I always be in normal mode when taking off and landing then switching to 3D mode or should I just stay in 3D mode all the time..I do find it a bit tricky to easily find the mid point on my throttle control...also , what is the difference between 3D mode 1 and 2 ?.....thanks

Absolutely love this tutorial, especially the PIP... However, i've only flown a £30 Argos model, but I thoroughly understand a real helicopter... So this is a little advanced for me... im thinking of getting a V200D03 as my first proper rc heli... But im still a little unsure about there your throttle is? I can see you pitch (Collective) and rid is on your left, banking and nose on the right... Can you point me in the right direction please, or even a similar tutorial for total beginners, thanks
How long do those helicopters fly for? Mine is protocol skyline gx with gyro so it only flys for 6 mins... Do most helicopters fly only around 6 mins and take and hour to charge

Nice flying bud how long have you been flying for on helicopter’s I was just a airplane guy till I got my first helicopter I got my first raptor 30 and I took off on it just like I did my airplane more less close to an airplane like you said and nerve level me I was afraid of crashing my helicopter lol so I took it easy till I got use to it some then started to do 3D moves I was 19 years old then but then I sold all my airplane’s because they got boring to me after flying my raptor 30 so then I got more raptors I have a raptor 30 and 50and 60 and the 90 and my most favorite one is my raptor 30 no there not flybarless there fly bar lol I have fly bar less but I always return to my raptor’s lol I’m 45 year’s old now and I still have all of my raptor’s and there still like brand new haven’t crashed none of them yet I got the blade 230s v2 just for fun and I’ve got the trex700 love them

Now I'm curious, you use spektrum because ur in LOS and you want the least amount of latency possible right? FrSky has better range and penetration but not as good latency as spektrum, so that is the reason right? I suppose for like FPV quads you'd want FrSky because the latency in the goggles will always be more than in the controller ANYWAY, but with FrSky you get better penetrtion through walls and shit. I fly quadcopters LOS and I'm seriously thinking about going spektrum and NOT FrSky... but I'm still not completely sure. I mean, I fly LOS simply because I can't afford FPV goggles xD But to be honest I like freestyle a lot and LOS freestyle just seems so much more expansive and awesome than FPV freestyle.

+Free dom , I don't think he did any autorotate in this one because he never fell enough with power off. It takes fast falling and quite some distance to perform autorotation.
well you might be right. It just look very much like he kinda stop or land it with autorotation. But yes it does take some hight. But it's very well done anyway :) I love RC and specially Choppers. :)

I highly recommend a simulator to practice on. It will save you time and money in the long term. If you crash on a simulator, no big deal! Crashing for real costs money and is frustrating.
If you are having trouble with the V977, you should put the V977 on a shelf for a while and get a V911Pro to learn on. The V977 is very easy to fly, so in your case you just need more experience on an easier copter like a fixed pitch 4 channel heli. The V911Pro is a great copter to learn on! Parts are cheap and it's very durable! After you hone your flying skills on the V911, the V977 will be so much easier for you to fly! Just don't give up and remember, every time you attempt to fly, you will get a little bit better. Just don't get ahead of yourself, start out with an easier copter, then move up. You should start with a Syma S107G coaxial, then either a Syma F3 or Wltoys V911 fixed pitch 4 ch.(Syma is easier to fly but will limit you, V911 is less stable but more agile) then you can move on to your V977. Once you learn the V977 in 3D mode and can fly well, the sky is open! You can fly almost any heli available!
Depends what kind of gyro! Heading hold gyros just makes sure the tail stays were it should and is a MUST for doing 3D! Yes I'm aware this is an older comment.

You explained this better than most. I've done these tricks in the simulator, but haven't developed the nerves with my real helis. I will in time.

I wish my v120d03 wasn't so damn twitchy. It also doesn't like to stay put and I need to properly mechanically trim it.

Rolls , is rudder , not aileron . (Rolls)
If I am not mistaken
incorrect friend. Rudder is for yawing nose left/right. Ailerons are for rolling over sideways

you cant. helis with gyro keep the heli straight and leveled from any wind etc.
