2017 Vietnam was the first time since 2010 that Mama actually change the venue but much has to do with the relation of Kpop and China. 2017 was also the start of both SM and YG boycotting the award for personal bushing of their artist. (Seriously you can't drag and bash an artist one moment and expect them perform and be cool with you for your own benefits.) Rating for Mama plummet despite what anyone said these was the dark years of Mama.
