@Fui Gebhardt1 People just wanted Mellon Collie 2 and instead the band lost Jimmy and Billy lost his mom and we got a weird, stripped down mildly electronic album. And then everyone was mad there weren't songs that sounded like Bullet or Zero. I think time has proven Billy knew what he was doing. The "Adore Orchestra" kinda thing they put together for the tours for this is my favorite live incarnation of the band.
I’m in the background of this video, I was 17 and this was an awesome show live. Best day of my teenage life! I got to meet Billy Corgan during a commercial break and he signed by copy of Siamese Dream.

I love the Smashing Pumpkins...GREAT LITTLE STORY. I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers here in L.A back in 95 or so and after the show went to Jones Restaurant in West Hollywood for late dinner/drinks with my girlfriend. The place was known for it great music and alternative music at that. Who walks in Jimmy Chamberlin the drummer from SP. He had to wait for a table and asked if he could join me and my girlfriend, of course we said yes..he didn't really talk that much (he might have been a little out of it as were we) but I will never forget when the pizza came he asked for a slice. Only in L.A...till this day me and my ex girlfriend still joke about that,
I saw the pumpkins on lollapalooza in 94 and loved hearing Gish and Siamese Dream! Both records are pure HEAVEN! Billy, James, Darcy, and Jimmy doesn’t get better than that! I’m not gonna lie: I REALLY MISS DARCY BEING IN THIS BAND 💔
8:55 James Iha ROCKS IT! Saw this band in its prime all the way to Zwan and now the Billy and other new members. Gish and Siamese Dream Tours were SICK! Mellon Collie was crazy too. Sure do miss my Pumpkins! I wish they all still got along.
I agree with her eye roll. I heard those remixes. Diddy should keep his producers (he has very little to do with the beauty of the songs that he is credited for) in the hip hop and rnb lane.
Omg! Lol! Memories!! I was there! The Pumpkins were to perform solely outside but there was a thunderstorm & MuchMusic wouldn't let them out. So the fans chanted and were super upset. The Pumpkins demanded to play for us outside. MM tried to stop the show on time, but they played their "last song" which lasted an extra 40 mins! It was hands down one of the best SP concerts I've been to (not just because you can see me multiple times during the show lol) but for the love they showed us fans.
I just finished watching it - got all nostalgic & sniffly lol I was 16 ;) such an awesome time to be a teen. Thank you so much for posting this - really made me happy!
That's freakin' awesome. Also, a 40 min. last song, i wish i couldve seen pumpkins live, they put much more emphasis on the progressive, long, almost improve styling of their songs. course i t hink billy was trained in jazz if i remember right, so that wouldn't be surprising
It's funny (yes I'm watching this again.. I'm old and nostalgic lol) I was thinking how long we were stuck outside. We were in the parking lot from the morning until then. They had no water or anything for any of us until about half way through the show Juliette Lewis (former VJ) started throwing water bottles out to us as people were passing out from dehydration. MM also didn't seem to care if us fans got smoked by lightning hahaha. Good times. Kenny drove me nuts with his heavy handed performance. I also loathed the pianist. Everyone else (Billy, James and D'Arcy) were just phenomenal as always. That last 40 minutes was just unbelievable. I wish I could go back and be there again. Going to see them this August. Wish D'Arcy was a part of the reunion tour. Can't have it all again I guess.

I'm pretty sure they had a big jam on Joy Division's Transmission after the broadcast ended.
