    Great spot.
    Halfway between the red beacon you were near and the cardinal marker to the NE, about 50 meters to the west is a prominent ledge. Fishes well for larger snaps both incoming and outgoing.

    Thanks for your vids mate, I've learnt a ton from them. I was hollering out to you the other day near the front of the river asking if you're filming today 😂.

    Hi Peter, I must say I'm really loving these videos, as a Redlands local its so good to have someone producing such quality videos from the local SEQ waterways. It really is inspiring to see what is available in Moreton Bay and surrounds. I'm new to the world of soft plastics and can't wait to get amongst it as I'm currently in a forced land based position atm (outboard died). I'm about to have a week at Amity on a great waterfront property with a small jetty on the rock wall, I would love some direction as to a combo to fish this with some plastics. I have stayed here several times and only ever bait fished, so I'm really excited about fishing with some plastics from here but fear my current only plastic combo ( small Shimano 2500 and a 6-12 pound rod) won't cut it. Love to hear your thoughts on what you think would work here, line class, leader etc. Hopefully this weather improves soon. Keep up the awesome work mate. Cheers Kim.

      Thanks so much for the kind words Kim!
      I’d say to go see your local tackle store (Scott at bayside) for tackle advice as well. I’d start like with soft plastics as that is how I and many others started out.
      Light graphite rod, small spin reel, 6-10lb braid and 6-10lb leader and species like bream and flathead. That’s how I started and progressed from there. There is so much skill to be learned from species like bream imo.
      Let me know how you go with the soft plastic journey mate!

      @@Peter_Herbst_Fishing Thanks for taking the time Peter, I'll certainly take your advice and head to Bayside and have a chat with the boys there. Cheers and all the best!

    Don’t listen to fly rod haters. I dusted mine off for the first time in about 10 years, so much fun. I remember saltwater fly got big in the 90s, but i think the evolution of realistic soft plastics kind of edged it out a bit.

    • @Peter_Herbst_Fishing
      @Peter_Herbst_Fishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s it mate.
      We got in to it back then too.
      I remember casting in the paddock after school, then buying a combo when I left school. Got some bass, tailor and even hooked a longtail, then discovered plastics and the end of that 🤣.

    Hi Peter , what’s the best 9 inch sounder to buy ?

    • @Peter_Herbst_Fishing
      @Peter_Herbst_Fishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey James!
      Inshore/offshore, stand alone, gps/sounder/engine data etc etc.
      kinda depends on your use of the sounder tbh. If you want the best side scan or use for a bit of everything.
