I was up in Berlin last week and saw 2 W126's being every day driven in traffic. Neither were showroom condition, but no smoke or strange sounds from them. Guys in their late 20's/ early 30's driving them. They stood out at good looking cars in a see of bland, black (for some reason everybody drives black cars in Berlin), modern offerings. And while they seemed very big cars back in the day here in Europe, today they're not much longer than your average Japanese/ Korean SUV. I *LOVE* these cars. This example would stop traffic up there !
Gorgeous looking car. I had a 91 420 with the identical creme beige interior which I bought from Globe Motors in NJ with 22k miles. Drove it coast to coast four times.
Wow amazing video, very informative and straightforward. I just inherited a garaged kept 1991 Mercedes 420SEL with only 12,970km = 8059miles! Literally the same mileage. It has the same colour combination as the one in your video. I wonder how much it would fetch for.
Herr Dean, ,, Is the 420 fitted to the W126 chassis a straight inline 6cyl? ... A beautifully driving car the 420 or 560.V8... Man,, those W126 chassis MB's were solid billet block builds
The 420 was the 4.2 liter V8, the smallest V8 offered below the 500 and 560. The inline 6 would have been the 380 on the earlier cars with the M110 engine, or the 300 on the later cars with the M103.
Beautiful car, but you always sit in these cars with bare skin on the clean light colored leather....😢 I don't think this a good thing. It's a bad selling point!

Awesome. I speak with the son of the former owner of Globe daily. He is still a big MB enthusiast.

@@the8419 .. Thanx
@@the8419 The 380 SE/SEL are also with V8. The six-cylinder inline is in the 280 models.
Is this car for sale?
