Beautiful. Love this whole ‘70s era type of jazz sound.
Sonny Fortune dancing around so beautifully on soprano saxophone
Intricacy and full of Africa American SOUL.These brothers are at one with the SPIRIT. Ya dig!
KENNY BARRON (keyb), Sonny Fortune (a sax), Buster Williams (b), Ben Riley (d) and Rafael Cruz (perc).
One of the many great Philadelphia pianist along with McCoy Tyner, Bobby Timmons, and Ray Bryant.
Excellent! Kenny Barron, NEA jazz master, is timeless. Thanks for posting this wonderful recording.
This is always good,it will never boring, listen to this music with pleasure.Thank you.
my fav album of Kenny's. Timeless!
What an exquisite chart. Just an outstanding work of artistic invention.
WHUR radio Howard University......A JAZZ FAVORITE
back before they got infected with the commercial stuff they play now
thanks for the sunshower cut; a great and not highly recognized piece of incredible music, typical of Mr. Barron's output.
sonny fortune's sax work with this is astounding, too.
Love Kennys groove
Yesss...ssss!! Tight!...
Cosmic grooves!
Don't underestimate the genius of the late Grover Washington Jr. He stands with all the great sax players. R.I.P. Grover.
Grover was a great soulful player. I love his music as I do the most soulful, Stanley Turrentine.
Grover was a genius as well as a great saxophonist.
I too recognize the brilliance of KB, I purchased that album when it came out. WRVR. NYC.
Masterpiece.
Well from about forty-two seconds in to about one minute and seven seconds, and then again, at one minute and thirty seven seconds is the exact riff that Sting (Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner) used for “Wrapped Around Your Finger” and did anyone ever point this out, yet?
Sunshower was, like, the inspiration for “Wrapped Around Your Finger”, just saying...
Beautifully done. The Ray Bryant Trio version of Sunshower off Ray's Tribute To His Jazz Piano Friends , the 1995 release on JMI Jazz Records is pretty good too. Thank you Malibu.
So,so nice.
Really cool, amazing virtuosity on electric piano. Now go listen to Stan Getz 1989 version. Then go listen to Police “Wrapped around your finger.” (1983). Stumbled upon this realization while listening to Getz streaming on echo. Enjoy.
Oh yeah! You beat me to it. How Sting get away with plagiarizing a dark-skin man, if it had happened to him he’d be having a temper tantrum.
Bless you 327vMalibu, I have been looking all over for this tune. So smooth, so mellow, perfecto!
Outstanding !
a great album...thank you for comment :)

Я не курю мужыки и когда курил не курил в затяжку и хватала пачка на месяц.
Williams - B Riley - D Rafeal Cruz - P Fortune - AS
Soprano sax
Buster Willams, Ben Riley, and Kenny Barron played "Sunshower" on Ron Carter's "Piccolo" album.
Sting is a plagiarist. He stole riffs from this and no one got sued?
