Saw them last night for the second time. The crowd started hollering Desert Skies....Doug said "man, I haven't sang that in 20 years". They did it, a little slower, and little jazzier, but awesome. I took my 75 year old mom. That was just what she wanted to hear. Epic night!

That's cool, I was living in Buena Vista CO a couple of years after that working in a hard rock mine in Leadville. Tried my hand at ranching in Idaho, but it was far fewer than 500 head.

I always loved this song!!!! I was there! "The simple things in life" - Kids could pay $4.50 to see Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker & Lynyrd Skynyrd. This show was epic; it was by all means a "Skynyrd Concert"....Flower in the air, bodies dropping here and there. I'd had the pleasure of hanging out previously with the Tucker boys - Toy, Tommy -and George. Class acts, good people. Ronnie Eckerman was my next-door neighbor - Our Mothers were beauty queens at UH. If my recollection serves me, Ed King had already left a couple of months earlier, leaving Gary and Allen to do double-duty. Charlie Daniels came out and played on Freebird to end Skynyrd's set and the show that night. Got invited to Toy's Pig Pull at his place that following year in Spartanburg. I will never forget this show - maintaining decorum, I have some memories about this show that will remain untold.......Honestly - I think this was the 2nd best part I ever attended. The best, being Austin, TX, April 7, 1975 - CDB opened, Tucker followed. Ate dinner after the show at Threadgil's. Later that morning (2am) got to hang out with Willie Nelson and Evil Knievel at the Sheraton on town lake. Burned flowers with Willie. Ronnie VZ loved Evil.....The love wasn't reciprocated. Evil wasn't there to see the band - He was on tour & we just happened to bump into him there - at 2am the whole hotel was jumping and we woke him up......Did get to see his bikes on the trailer once he calmed down. The whole experience of those 2 shows alone changed my life. Good night Tucker fans.

Only one blackeye for me, 3rd time I saw them in 1978 at the Lansing Michigan Civic Center. They played 3 songs and stopped the show. Said the flu had struck the band. They said they would come back, never did, and never got refunded. But I still loved them anyway.

What a cool song..I mean coooll. I had a friend that was was working as a stage hand. He had a backstage pass and asked if I would like it.... a YEAH. I always loved Marshell Tucker so off I went. Hanging out backstage, talking to the roadies, smokin' up, drinkin' up. One of the roadies fires up a joint and passes it to me and we start talking , about music and just shootin the breeze. Suddenly the lights go up and the roadie sais " Oh shit I gotta go ". He then runs onstage and grabs the mic. I said to myself...why did the roadie just do that...then it hit me I was talkin to Doug Gray the lead singer for the band. I almost pooped my 18-19 year old self. I was smokin a joint and coolin' out with fame and I didn't even know it... I think Doug preferred it that way. I can't begin to describe how sublime that moment was.

Damn they were so smooth and have loved their music since the first time I heard em way back. Man, Toy was such an amazing guitarist and is one of my all time favorites. As far as greats, l respect the talents of Clapton, Hendrix Page and Blackmore etc, but my choice for top axmen are Caldwell & Paul Kossof of the band Free. I know everyone always picks the usual lineup and not many even know about Paul and Toy. Let alone choose them for top guitarist lists, but between them there isn't anyone that could outperform them and were the two greatest as far as I'm concerned. Sadly, they are both gone and really sucks that we will never be able to see them damnit

WHOA NELLIE slow it DOWN fast tempo belies the lyrics and pacing. Must've been a big "Snowstorm" that night. Ps RVZ bullied the band on the Plane. His arrogance is why they crashed and he took Stevie G with him. Darn shame.
