    Sorry to hear of your loss Brian! What a great memory you get to hold onto! Looks like you have the same neck pickup that I do in my partscaster that I built for my son when he was born! I did it for the same reason that he will have something to hold on to long after I get to go sit at the feet of the Lord!

    LOVE GTR Stories! I have a TELE of the same color blue. BUT, mine is the Hybrid that has 3 noiseless pickups & a 5-way switch with the two diagonal switch settings that emulate a Strat sound. It also has locking tuners. It's the Nashville model. Love it. I have 4 other EG's, but this is my main EG for worship music, along with my POD GO. But this Sunday, I'll drag along my orange Gretsch 5420T for the last two songs, as I'll finger-pick those, as they are more subdued mellow songs, more suitable in tone for the Gretsch. God is GOOD! In a couple weeks, I'll be 79 yrs old, and just SO blessed by God's Son Jesus, that I'm still able to play EVERY Sunday for Him, and at an acceptably high level. I'll continue to do it as long as He lets me! Jeremiah 6:8! Here I am, Lord, use me!

    What a cool story. I too had a grandpa Wilbur. It was my Grandpa Ed that was the wood worker though. My Grandpa Ed passed away at the beginning of 2020 a week away from turning 99. Your memories brought back mine. I built my first guitars in high-school wood shop class, but was always bringing them to show my Grandpa, and he'd show my the cedar chest, or whatever else he was building and we'd talk shop. Thanks again for the story.

    I loved the personal story about your blue Tele and your grandfather. What a special tribute!
    Back in the 80's, my oldest brother helped me buy my first electric guitar, a Kramer. My brother was in a southern rock band and would let me tag along and jam with them during their rehearsals, and those are some special memories. At some point, I decided to take the Kramer apart, sand off the finish, and stain the middle to make it look like a neck-through guitar 🤣 Honestly, I can't remember what happened to the guitar, but I wish I had held onto it. My brother passed away earlier this year. He had such a big influence on my life, including faith, music, playing guitar, and the list goes on.
    Thank you so much for your channel. I love everything y'all are doing. God bless you!

    Sorry to hear about your grandpa. It's awesome that you posted this now. I've been considering making my own tele. Want to make a thin line, for the top sheet I want to use barn wood from my grandpa's barn. He passed away 1.5 years ago. This convinced me. Love the story and the character. Guitar sounds incredible. I love that thick tone from the neck pickup.

    Can confirm. Warmoth stuff is great. My Tele has the 59 roundback profile and is amazing. Not too thick or thin. Perfect. Roasted maple and stainless frets too. Another note to make is the body is Warmoth too and they couldn’t fit together any more perfectly. Nice and snug.

  • @benrobinson3438
    @benrobinson3438 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree about the Little 59 un the bridge! Before putting the Fishman Fluence pickups in my Telecaster I had the same set up with the SD Mini Humbucker in the neck and a little 59 in the bridge. After watching this I'm strongly considering doing a partscaster, using the mini HB, and getting a Porter for the bridge. 👊🏼🙂

    I love that you’ve named your guitar. Of all my guitars, I have only two with names. My workhorse bass is named “Red” after the Fraggle, yes it is red, and my workhorse acoustic is named “Melba” after Rocko’s neighbor, who is named after the food Melba Toast.
    All my others are nameless.

  • @brettcornford3811

    Thanks Brian, I really enjoyed watching your story of your special Tele. You should definitely play that guitar more, it's a beaut. Just a suggestion for future videos like this one (and it's fine that you didn't do this for this particular guitar because of it's special sentimental value) but it would be great if you could get Bradford to do a shorter take 2 (i.e. a second opinion) of what he thinks of the same guitar that you are talking about. Or if it is Bradford doing one of his guitars you should do a take 2 on what you think of the same guitar. Could be filmed together talking about the guitar or filmed separately, it wouldn't matter.

I love the things because they were part of some rich and meaninful relationships. I hope that some day you pass Wilbur 2 down to your kid or grandkid and get to make some amazing memories just like your Grandpa did with you!

    I used to hate teles becauee I thought they were too one dimensional and their sound quality was inferior
    I was so wrong.
    I appreciate teles now because they peirce the mix with their sharp attack. As for the sound quality, rings like a silver bell, pure beautiful sound.

  • @leonthompson8988
    @leonthompson8988 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have only owned 2 guitars that had that sound of rolling, pulsing and dynamic projection. A Heritage l.p. from the mid 90s and a original valley arts lukather model in conjunction with my old 70s Marshall combo. Out of 12 guitars that I own now none do that to the extent that yours and the two I had to sell years ago. I to have always used Warmoth necks for any build of mine. Best neck for 200 bucks. Bless you brother

    • @simonfinch9277
      @simonfinch9277 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That rolling sound may be caused because of the pickup height.
      My humbucker guitar had that sound, but i screwed the pickups away from the strings and that sound is now gone. Kinda miss it, but the strings were scrathing the hell put of the bridge humbucker. Plus the bridge humbucker sometimes got too crazy, too much bass and output.

    I think you guys should do a current Warmoth Build, build another Partscaster

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      My sunburst thinline tele is actually another home-brew guitar (I did the finish on that one, too). I'll do a video on it soon. Building guitars is a lot of fun, but if you use really high end parts and pickups, it can be an expensive hobby.
      Although it could be worth reaching out to Warmoth to see if they'd sponsor a build. That's a possibility.
