It's absolutely a Tele!! Has a few custom mods though - namely 4 pick-ups instead of the standard 2, and 4 seperate pick-up switches. All this, coupled with his pedal board and Marshalls, allows for a lot of tones. (I'm a Wilcox/guitar nut.) I hope to see him again out west this summer. Wilcox - 30 (40?) years and still going strong!
That my friend is called a slide. A lot of blues guitarist use one to give that nice blues slide effect listen on watch the video one more time and see how it is used. Watch Sonny Landreth play he is also a great guitarist.
