- It's finally done! I really enjoyed Ardbert's development and story from Final Fantasy XIV, so I made this video as a way to tell his story arc in a somewhat compact manner. It details his perspective of the fall of The First and his attempt to save his world. The video is made using in-game footage and audio from Final Fantasy XIV to present Ardbert's story leading up to the events of Shadowbringers. Thanks for watching!

The way Ardbert's voice cracked on "Please" at the end broke my heart right in two.
I did it, friend. I saved The First. You can rest now, your friends have been waiting too long for you.
He sees everything you see now, when his soul merged with yours (azem's sundered soul) he now sees everything you see from here on out.
Ardbert...LOVED having him as my guide in Shadowbringers. He made the adventure so fun.
Having a friend, someone who understood my character really helped drag me into the ShB story. I’ll miss ya, Ardy.
Shadowbringers is when this game had hit peak fiction status, genuinely. The story of this expansion and its characters were genuinely phenomenal in every conceivable way.
Heartbreaking yet inspiring. So glad he became one with us.

Joe Dempsie does such good work in this game - I really hope it leads to more voice acting roles for him!
Ive seen people complain about too many characters having ‘low-born’ British accent but then we have Joe Dempsie rolling through and very much not doing that. Im not sure what those people are talking about but I know that he’s not his GoT character and kinda like him more this way.

These are all told beautifully in the form of the oral traditions of eld and as a fellow historian of and vaunted Ancient of Eitherys and the FFXIV community (I have been playing since patch 2.1) I thank you and yours for your continued efforts.
These are stories that deserve to be told and retold again.
This is so good! I really love how you made him repeat what he says in the introduction. It really nails home what he's going through in Shadowbringers.
The lore of these games is actually fabulous.

I watch this nearly everyday not only because the storyline was so good but that its one of the most tragic relatable event. Doing everything only for nothing. Then one mistake, everyone hates you. It hurts especially when you have no idea.

I absolutely love this character of the game.
Very well done. I'm slow at playing FFXIV so I'm in Shadowbringers right now and it really is the best storytelling so far (though that also has a lot to do with the setup that came before). I especially like that really... Ardbert is you with the bad luck to be born in the First instead of the Source. If your Warrior of Light and him had swapped birthplaces... well... he would be the hero and you would be the shade. Because he just did what you did...

@@connormcintyre9011 oh it's something I'm definitely doing because I enjoy it. If I get bored I'll stop, but I just keep finding outlets to express my love for this game. Though at some point I'll need to pick and make a costume for next fanfest.
