Personally I think Sarah Burton is doing a great job! She has taken out the theatricality and showmanship of Alexander Mcqueen and is presenting beautiful feminine clothes that real women want to wear! I just wish the Fashion Queens would give her a break! I loved the collection and the music! Fantastic!
Most people who say they "Miss" Alexander do not buy the labels clothing. Sarah does beautiful work. Even Karl Lagerfeld said that she does beautiful collections for the label.
Nicely presented in every season and maintain the consistency of the uniqueness of her style. Enjoy watching every single piece of her works that executed in the show. :)
I loved it, it is not McQueen, but let's face it guys, there is never going tobe another McQueen, so stop judging shows based on how much looks like McQueen.
For a collection that was inspired by paganism in Cornwall, this had a lot of potential. However I don't feel as though it was anywhere close to reaching that potential. Runway: Dull Music: Ok for the first 2 minutes, but then became repetitive and thoroughly irritating Hair and makeup: not bad The actual clothes: The colour pallet for this collection was actually quite nice. The red, white and grey to start was interesting. However I wanted to see more of the darker colours combined with brighter colours seen in those embroidered pieces. Some of the shapes, cuts and silhouettes were fun but most were the same. The pieces at the end were exactly what I was expecting and hoping to see throughout the whole collection, but there were only a few. So I suppose I'm a bit disappointed overall, especially as they had made the collection seem far more intriguing and even romantic via social media beforehand. But there are a good handful of pieces that I love, that prevent me from hating this collection entirely. Fingers crossed that the next collection is at least a bit more inventive.
Sarah was McQueen's textiler so we're never going to see anything with the genius of his cuts and drapes from this fashion house again. Shortly after his death, I remember Burton telling the story of how McQueen took a piece of cloth they had been working with and watched him cut it into a jacket right before her eyes. The closest Sarah has come to McQueen was her first collection after his death, which I thought was wonderful and fantastic. Maybe Gareth Pugh could do a special collection with her someday? Otherwise, I think these clothes are really cool but I'm still going to cry every time I watch his fall 1999 Overlook show.
@pafakell...........You mean the way McQueen ruined Givenchy..........And by the way, the company never made a cent under McQueen nor did they produce clothes you could actually wear. You can only go so far with a tampon string coming out of a crotch. Furthermore, Burton's tailoring is as sharp as a knife. If you weren't talking out of your ass you would recognize that. The "it's not McQueen" rhetoric is becoming tiresome.......No, it's not McQueen....... He hanged himself in a closet.
I want drama in this collection, I want darkness and beauty art and high fashion, I wanna cry watching this collection, I miss the drama of Lee McQueen.....!
Mila Fargo es el nuevo Mcqueen de este tiempo. Ojos abiertos mundo de Alta Moda, la alma de Lee esta con Mila, vean nomas en el arte la originialidad. Son twins de estilo, pero diferente vision.
I think Riccardo would be an amazing fit for McQueen since I can hardly recognize it anymore. Miss McQueen so much wonder if he would of stayed in the fashion industry this long if he was alive
can anybody tell me why when I type in my name under Google Images search a link to this video comes up ??? I never left the comment but I do have some experience in fashion but I don't ever remember visiting this site or be interested in McQueen's work.
The McQueen House Should Have Just Closed Down When He Passed, Im Sorry! IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME! No One Could Ever Replace The ART He Created. I remember watching his shows on youtube (even still to this day) i would be so Amazed Mind, Blown. From the Fashion to the Show Itself it was always a Production. Now It's ugh... McQueen was to Fashion what Michael Jackson was to Music, its a sound you cant replace.
This really lacks Lee's sculptured fluidity. It gets tiring to see the same drape-like silhouettes. He spent his life experimenting with form. It's just not HIM
Soft Melancholy and tailoring are the only concepts retained. Lately the past 3-4 seasons have been missing that eccentric/Shock/Drag/harshness all associated with McQueen. Very feminized and watered down. Feels so un exciting. Sure it's pretty, but honestly where's the "Oomph my god wtf" I hope they really look at Iris Van Herpen/Gareth Pugh/And really old and 90's shows of Thierry Mugler. They seem to have more of McQueens DNA than these soft couture pieces McQueen was a sculptor of fabric almost. There is absolutely no exaggerations of proportion which I miss the most. I'm so bored of frills and ruffles.
I totally tought "this is what a boring witch would wear" and am kind of surprised, after reading the comments, that I nailed It! (ppl said it was inspired by cornwall paganism)
No no no! It's like Valentino& Givenchy Together.Miss u Really AlexanderMQ

Juraj Odrobiňák true
You are absolutely right, it's not McQueen at all

Miss you McQueen
Alexander McQueen shows used to be so dramatic and a show stopper. Now is just clothing minus the drama. I miss Alexander McQueen!
Me too. I keep watching his old shows and long for them. PS: that first white dress with the red stitcing reminds me of a baseball.
Kyant T que 9
One of my favourite is the one with Kate Moss in the Pyramid Prism... lots of drama and so hauntingly beautiful.
Sophia Elisa I totally agree with u. There isn't a genius like Lee in the fashion industry nowadays. He was unique
Feed Marco Marco some LSD and he might just rise to the challenge.
ALEXANDER MQUEEN IS THE GREATEST DESIGNER THAT EVER LIVED

+George .Hill -- doesn't that mean 'I'm glad I'm right'?
And in this case, you probably are!🙏
The jackets are fierce
Incredible homage to Lee, Burton's mad skills/ love

Mcqueen never die
Me encanto que creativo!
iris van herpen is the next McQueen her design s are too die for
Slay PFW
We need another Alexander McQueen. 😔
I actually really enjoy the show. Only thing is that this looks a lot like what Riccardo Tisci would design.
incredible
I LUUUV ITTT 😍😍😍😍
Vittoria 😍
Some really nice English folky pieces and warrior esque themes, just let down from the lack of set design.
if only Sarah Burton brought McQueen's creative edge to this, this would have been better
Its Yum!

😍😍😍

can anybody tell me why when I type in my name under Google Images search a link to this video comes up ??? I never left the comment but I do have some experience in fashion but I don't ever remember visiting this site or be interested in McQueen's work.
Its gorg, but is it special? We need that spice what McQueen Used to add to his collection.
More like Pierpaolo Piccioli than Alexander McQueen, but beautiful anyways.
The "baseball" dress is sailly.
what is the soundtrack?
The hairr
I'm calling it Joan of Arc lives in Brooklyn
ya i got it
mcqueen would have been disappointed with 40% of this collection.
6:30 The beautiful Kim Noorda 😊
Who was the model at 6:36 ? And wow this show was mindblowing.
Chane Husselmann
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
the music is more dramatic than the clothes
I am going to start using super long belts
Burton’s job when McQueen was alive was to translate his vision and made it commercial. What did y’all expect from her work?
3:16 this woman is Gorgeous
why not chanel so uploaded yet?
booooorriiiiing.......... same silhouettes and patterns every season
Zeynep Atasoy it's so true like all the leading houses are just copying off each other and recreate the same lines over and over again
who is model @3:18 ? her eyes are amazing
....they tried to achieve the same level of mystery and drama only with the music???.....
I thought I was watching the wicker man
Music?
they should have closed this fashion house when he died when alexander mcqueen died the fashion house died with him :(
And est culture the wonderful.
Just the dress at 7:20.
❣❣❣❣❣
I wish they can make it as dramatic as McQueen did.
so do I, at least make it an experience even if the clothes are boring
It's not MCqueen anymore.

Valentino look
McQueen..........?
mastery & visionary walking among kings 555#matilda
Cloths are starting to look like costumes.
The first look was bad. The silhouette was all over the place. The shoes didn’t compliment.
Beautiful clothes put very poor set design and presentation of what is a very inspiring concept.
nice and healthy-looking models; clothes were boring and some ill-fitting i.e. leather coats
This really lacks Lee's sculptured fluidity. It gets tiring to see the same drape-like silhouettes. He spent his life experimenting with form. It's just not HIM
3:18 white dress is wearable
McQueen's empire is slowly dying.. horrible.
Soft Melancholy and tailoring are the only concepts retained.

Ahh....Hello, what were those Bob Mackie Cher cover of Time Magazine) dresses at the end of the show. Shameful.
It is not the same : (
Alexander will be very disapointed!
what a snoozefest
I totally tought "this is what a boring witch would wear" and am kind of surprised, after reading the comments, that I nailed It! (ppl said it was inspired by cornwall paganism)
I'm moving on after first three seconds. Everyone looks like like a witch. Ugh.
