Clue for the NES has a 4 second world record iirc because you basically mash A as soon as it starts and just hope by random chance you select the right culprit, weapon, and scene.
It feels good to not be the only amiibo festival enjoyer, also at least in the new leaf version it's not random it stops when you press a. It just does a full rotation before stopping. That plus reaction time makes it feel random. The best way around it that I found was to try and learn how long it takes to react and press the button and factor that in
I read that, I think it's easier to time the spinner in NL. It seemed more random in AC:AF because you'd hit "A" to stop the spinner, and sometimes it would stop immediately, and sometimes it would be delayed.

I didn’t even know this was a part of amiibo festival, I have a WiiU furniture item in New Leaf that allows you to play this mini game, and it was so much fun haha
I remember playing Desert Island Escape on New Leaf using the in game Wii U which would cost Play Coins. As you would gain Play Coins by walking, I would carry my DS everywhere so I could get them. So glad this is the same in Amiibo Festival. Oh, and congrats on the world record!

You give me early ludwig vibes in this video in the best way possible. Hopefully you gonna keep making cool stuff and keep growing since a calab one day would be pretty nifty in theory.
New Dagnel content always makes it a great day! 💚 Congrats on the WR and probably causing quite a few people to pick this mini game up (again), me included, if I can stomach my NL villagers complaining about my disappearance…
Congratulations on the world record, loved the video as always! Haven’t seen your museum speed run yet as still catching up on the livestreams 😊 it’s cool to see the whole process and appreciate the grind you put in to entertain us.
The fact that for 3 days we watched Dagnel play a board game made me question my life. WE KNOW EVERYONE FAVORITE FRUIT. The conclusion is whatever Dagnel will do we will sit and watch in silence
The only thing bad about Amiibo Festival is that it wasn't a full Animal Crossing game. People were so feral for a Wii U Animal Crossing game because of the while speculation of how you could use the Gamepad, that when it was basically Rated G Mario Party people lost their mind. It's not amazing or anything, but didn't deserve the disrespect and vitriol it got
This game was SO close to being really really amazing, but the controls of having to tap the amiibo every single time and move around the gamepad were a mess-- that said, I think a switch port could work really well b/c of the way joycons work -- and especially now that amiibo cards are more popular than ever, it could be more accessible to at least a small niche of people. IDK this game had potential and it was so cute to see a little town map during the seasons and fight for turnips and bells and stuff but aaah this game also fell flat on it's face too hmm
The board game was clunky, having to scan it as often as you do. Desert Island Escape was nice though, tap once at the start of the round, and that's it. But I agree, I'd love a Switch port.
This minigame is also available in New Leaf if you win a Wii U console from a fortune cookie. It was one of my favorite past times so it's nice to see it getting the love it deserves
The Welcome Amiibo free update for Animal Crossing New Leaf on the 3DS has a version of this game. I dunno if it's the full game though, but you access it through I think a fortune cookie item. It'll be the wii u or the 3DS item that was added in the Welcome Amiibo update.
These streams got me playing amiibo Festival again, and though I never disliked it, it was more fun than I remembered. Even just Desert Island Escape has so much to it, I'm surprised it's so overlooked. I also played the board game with my family and they thought it was boring until the stalk market started, at which point things got heated. The whole thing also has the great Wii U-era Nintendo vibes. I think the worst part of the game is not any of the gameplay but that it's so dependent on amiibo- other toys-to-life dependent games have a lot more content to them.
i remember on the 3ds version, i got really good at timing the wheel. there's a way to hit the button at exactly the right moment and you will always get what you want
I actually really love Amiibo Festival. I have yet to play the mini games because I don't have the cards but I actually love how cute and wholesome the board game is ❤
I hadn’t played ACNL since before welcome amiibo and was INCREDIBLY surprised when I saw you could play this minigame with playcoins on the in game Wii U
My roommate refuses to play Amiibo Festival because in his first game ever he went from a decisive lead to an unwinnable situation after I got a money tree.
I played a board game similar to this. It's called Galapagos or something similar to it. You have to gather water, food and wood to make a raft and much more fun stuff. You can work together but also you might have to sacrifice or safe your friends. Super fun!
interesting that Celeste and Blathers have the same ability. I get why from a gameplay standpoint, but Celeste canonically can't fly. She has something wrong with one of her wings that means she can't fly. I believe this information can be found in either Happy Home Designer, Happy Home Paradise, or both. Edit: Also, I play Desert Island Escape on New Leaf, and I use a cat almost every time. They sense fish in nearby spaces and automatically move to those spaces, then they can catch fish without a fishing rod. 50/50 chance to even catch without a fishing rod, or I believe an 100% with fishing rod. I could be wrong, but I believe the logs and sail are pre-set to be in specific spaces every time for the same level. There's one level in easy mode I believe that has the sail always at the top-most square, guarded by an enemy. At least in the New Leaf version. I skipped the Wii U- almost everything I wanted for the Wii U ended up with a port or sequel on Switch, so I'm happy with my decision.
I always kind of thought that Amiibo Festival looked like something that I personally could really enjoy. The only problem I had with it was that it was an Amiibo game. I have a grand total of one Amiibo, and it's the Twilight Princess version of Link that was released in the Smash Wii U run. I don't own any Animal Crossing Amiibo or Amiibo cards.
amiibo festival is pretty fun! Sadly neither me or my siblings have enough older amiibo cards to be able to play the minigames though... but I remember playing desert island escape in new leaf, and it was so much fun! Ngl, this was my favorite mode from the whole game and I honestly wish there were more online creators playing this, as I don't own a WiiU myself. I honestly would buy that game for that mode alone

Honestly, I'm sure a lot of people would have been willing to give this game a try if it wasn't advertised that you NEEDED amiibo to play. I'm not sure what everyone else's availability was, but I had no AC amiibo in any of the stores in my area, so it basically made this game unplayable for me.
I feel like while commenting on how good the game is or not it's a MASSIVE gloss-over to not mention you *need* Amiibos (or at minimum Amiibo cards, which you still have to purchase) to play. It's especially notable since you're wanting specific villages for this minigame so you'd need to those specific Amiibos/cards
Hi! I recently found your channel and I'm not sure what you have or haven't done yet... But have you ever considered trying to 5* your island with just the stuff that falls out of trees? Or would that be physically impossible?

Ah, amiibo Festival. I'd honestly be less salty about amiibo Festival if it was free at and all you needed were to buy amiibos. But no, it was a full 50 bucks at launch (I think it went down to 20) and sure, it came with an Isabelle and Digby amiibo and 3 amiibo cards, but that's still about 25 bucks for the game. There's just not enough content to justify that price tag, especially considering most of the minigames require more than what you got with the game, so most of the content is locked to you unless you pay even more money. But if we're just talking the game itself, a good chuck of the minigames are really cool and fun, and even the board game can be enjoyable, but if you don't have the amiibos for it, I wouldn't reccomend it unless you can get it cheap.
