#Time of your life This is just a "sample" of Russians expressing themselves. over No one is claiming this is a scientific opinion survey - but any such survey could not be objective if carried out by the Russian Government. State telephone surveys will get self-censored replies owing to the criminal sanctions that can be deployed against dissident opinions. Self-censorship will prevent any true picture of public opinion being captured.

Speaker at 3,40 has it right. "IF" NATO wanted to attack Russia, they would have done so in 1989 and/or 1991, when the place was in chaos. They did not attack!

@@ФреддиКрюгер-й1н Maybe some brave, but others desparate for the money. They were recruited from some of the poorest areas in Russia. They were farmers and workers from industrial plants and many who weren't employed at all. They had no idea what they were headed to. They weren't told that this Special mission included dying, now more than 20,000 Russian soldier lie dead in a country they didn't want to be in in the first place. Many called home crying to their mothers because they were afraid. That didn't make them cowards by any means. They were brave, braver than most I'd say. Brave enough to admit they were scared and wanted to go home. They were all young and didn't want to die but Putin obsession to conquer Ukraine has cost many a young man's lives. My heart just breaks for those who are already dead and those who soon will be. They didn't deserve this. Neither do the Russian people... even those too ignorant and blind that they beleive everything the government tells them. Because soon, every Russian will feel the pinch of poverty. And Putin will continue to take young men from their jobs, homes and families to continue this madness without a care in the world as to how many are just canon fodder.

I love how most Russian interviewed have a good grasp on reality. Like one guy said, if NATO wanted to invade, they would have done so. NOBODY wants to invade Russia. People want to just get on with life, trade, travel, enjoy different cultures, etc. And anyone who thinks NATO is a toothless tiger and no match to Russia's military, they probably don't know how badly the Russian military has been doing in Ukraine. Soviet era equipment, poorly maintained, etc. And even with Putin's 6000+ nukes, it makes me wonder how effective even they would be. This mess in Ukraine is all because of one man's refusal to get past his Soviet era thinking. And innocent Ukrainians are paying for his ego with their lives, homes, and businesses. :(

And they had good reason after it gobbled up surrounding countries. It was seen as a threat, and not unjustified with the likes of Lenin and then Stalin killing off, what was it, 20 million of their own people? Don't get me wrong, I know Russia fared worse in WWII than any other country. @@tgazhn9295 I think you may have misunderstood. I was talking about before WWII, and after. Life in Russia was brutal under Stalin, and worse under Lenin. The point is, Russia liberated many countries in WWII, but then stayed and imposed their regime on them. As for forgiving other countries for atrocities, the worst offender was of course Germany, followed by Japan, but look at where they are today. Only just now, because of Putin, Germany has for the first time since WWII deployed, or supplied, arms to a foreign country. Sweden and Finland, who were opposed to joining NATO, are now joining. Putin aggression towards Ukraine is not only destroying parts of Ukraine, but this is, and will for some time, cause serious problems for other countries in ways such as food supply. Putin doesn't care about that though. Anyway, nothing I say will change your mind, and vice versa, so have a nice day.

Influenced their education system and providing military supervision etc? Just because what?they want to help Russia by creating problems on Russian borders? # Ryan Bruner Well said! This is the important point for us all to remember: that there are no winners in a nuclear exchange (God forbid!). I think many Russians think that as the most extensive country on Earth they are somehow well placed to survive a nuclear war, whereas Western countries like Britain would be utterly destroyed. This may be true but is a highly fallacious line of reasoning. If the Kremlin hit London and , say, Helsinki. at what cost would that be? - St Petersburg and Moscow would be destroyed! What use all those steppes then? So Russia survives! So what? It won't help Russia's historic centres of civilization having the Russian Federation stuck out in Siberia. Better to calm down, get over the post Soviet paranoia and join the community of nations. Russia can thrive there. Let's have peace. Russian oligarchs send their children to our Western schools and universities (Lavrov's step daughter graduated from a British university!) In their hearts Russians must know that this policy of nuclear confrontation is just wrong headed. Peace to the lovely people of Russia. And peace for Ukraine!

@@mikhaildoronin1331 I do not try to change your perception, you are raised in fear of NATO, so you can not reprogram your mind.
I just will add one things.
NATO expanding only because there are countries which are afraid of RU, just think about it. And you misunderstand how NATO expansion works. There are countries with their will to join, not vise-versa.

After listening to this I think there is hope for peace. Good to hear some common sense. I pray that these folks can influence their politicians to stop this senseless war. Thank you for putting this out. You are brave, as well as some of the folks you interviewed. Wish there was some peaceful way to have dialog with the Russian people.

1:37 Ukrainian, USA, Canadian, european, Qatar, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan news actually similar, while Russian propaganda is extremely unique😂. Additionaly, there are many Russian speaking channels who critisize Russia government and its actions.

'Popularnaya Politika' is a veritable anti-Putin propaganda factory, and as far as I can tell is produced in Russia.
