I started off 3 years ago watching ChubyMuffin and I would use a broken knuckle Fingerboard. I still watch Jeremy and I now ride a Berlin wood anker Rasta deck with silver BRT trucks, teak tuning and flatface dual durometer bearing wheels. I had learned that I loved fingerboarding on rails and ledges.
One important thing to mention is that it's not about the gear, buying the most expensive setup won't make you a better rider, consistency and practice will. So even if all you have is an old 26mm tech deck just stick to it and you'll improve.
The fifth one is actually true. I totally agree. It's just like there are so many people who immitate other's style and flow just to feel cool. i think this should be more about the fun and just skate your board.. #justsaying
I am just getting out of the beginner stage and my best tip is to try and land a new trick by the end of each session. I would also say to try and play skate against your friends or other fingerboarders to look into someone else's bag of tricks.

As soon as I started to develop this, that's when I started to figure out how to pop tricks without doing that super quick "rollback" right before you do it, because I started to become aware of the finger positioning and how to make it happen according to normal skateboarding physics rather than manipulating the pop.
When young I used techdeck to learn skateboarding tricks and now since getting back into fingerboarding I put my skateboarding tricks to fingerboarding and loving it! makes fingerboarding easier if you already know how to execute the trick properly on a skateboard so I completely agree kelsey! looking beautiful. ..;)

I've been finger boarding with just tech decks I promise u tho if u dont get a pro fingerboard u can still get tricks but I just figured out to ollie CORRECTLY but it's fun I always just used ramps but yea I literally have a whole bunch of tech decks now
What i have more issues to figure out is my positioning and height in regard to the play surface...like should i be standing at a taller table or is fingerboarding while sitting good too? i see most people doing it standing up...

Try learning the frontside flip and once you can do that do a fs flip and don't turn your hand. That's how I learned them.
