    Healthy habit: order small, you don't need a large of whatever it is you were craving, just order a small

      Such a good tip! I’ve actually started doing that recently. I go get myself a small hot chocolate instead of a medium or large. It satisfies the craving but then I’m not drinking a 500 calorie hot chocolate. 😂

      I’ve been having a lot of trouble with this recently. A lot of the places for fast food such as Arby’s, Wendy’s etc say they don’t sell small meals anymore and you have to get a medium. It’s been so frustrating that I end up just ordering the sandwich and not the meal.

    I started at 270 at 5'2. I'm now 206, but I'm going back to old habits. I needed this advice. I do my weight loss in phases. I completed phase one, now going to 2nd phase to get to 150. Battling some emotional eating but will start these tips today. Thank you.

    I absolutely LOVE the idea of writing all my negative thoughts into Notes and deleting them. I'm going to implement that one this year!

    A healthy habit I'm working on is walking more instead of driving everywhere. There's places near my home where I can easily walk to in 10 minutes that I'm just so used to driving there. I'm making an effort to walk to those places when the weather is forgiving enough lol

    If it’s safe to walk (I know some communities don’t have sidewalks) and it’s less than a mile, walk there! It’s healthier and you save fuel.

    Jordan you always have the best ideas. I get the bus to work every day but I walk home. It's 4 miles so that's nearly my 10000 steps. When I get home I make sure I've got a pre made healthy meal ready I can just heat and eat so no snacks.

    Those are all great tips but I especially love number five! I feel like that is so important I almost sound like a broken record it when someone I care about is mistreating themselves with negative talk I point out that they probably wouldn't tolerate someone speaking that way to someone that they care about and you really need to be your own best friend you need to be able to encourage yourself and be kind to yourself, you can call yourself out on it when you don't accomplish what you said out to do , but give yourself some grace and and remember that we have the opportunity to try again tomorrow.

    Definitely yes❤️ I try to take 6,000 steps every day, often more. I have two big goals, personal and professional. The daily routine I do brings me closer to achieving my goals. Writing down 5 things I am grateful for. Loving and accepting yourself. Working with the inner child - working with the mirror ❤️

    I take the stairs at my apt complex all the time and my room mate hates it when he has to walk up the stairs with me instead of using the elevator.

    Thank you for the video! Some of my experiences: more protein helped my energy levels, I drink a protein shake every morning with my breakfast. Also, taking vitamins is underrated, they change my mood and energy too.

    I've always struggled with being consistent when I'm trying to build healthy habits and I would always get frustrated when things would get boring and I couldn't keep doing the same thing anymore. I recently realized I can just embrace that and work with it. I definitely exhibit some ADHD like symptoms and I figure if changing my strategy every few weeks works, why not? As long as the strategies are aimed at the same goal the outcome is the same. Some weeks I dont' want to cook at all so I get premade meals from the Clean Eatz in town and only eat those for a few weeks. Then I get bored of those (or my brain randomly gets hung up on the texture of their chicken lol) and so I go a few weeks of meal prepping soups and bowls from my favorite recipes. When I get too tired of that I'll switch to really simple meals I can make on the go and it seems like I just cycle through those options forever. In the past I would feel discouraged if I started to feel I was losing momentum but now I choose to see it as a sign it's time to switch things up.

    When you said in another video that you been manifesting 2024 and that is your year.     This video was so so encouraging for me today ❤ last year I had a lot of health concerns ( primarily due to stress on my body from finding out I had soo many allergies etc) a big focus for me this year is taking care of my body and going on a weight loss journey, and also a journey to unlearn all of the unhelpful diet tips ( thanks early 2000s 😩) it’s so nice to see this community where everyone is genuinely supportive of one another ❤

    So excited to get in shape this coming year! I've put on a lot of weight since giving birth in 2020 due to career changes, COVID, a lot of reasons but I finally bit the bullet and got a gym membership. I'm about 120 lbs overweight so it's all about consistency and building healthy, sustainable habits for the long haul.

    Just found your channel from tiktok really excited. For years I've been gaining weight rapidly and became obese despite struggling to eat and sought medical help. Found out I have a chronic illness. Now that I'm in treatment I've started eating more and drinking lots of water. For the first time ive been able to lose weight🥺 I have lost 11kg since July without exercise. However for 2024 I want to start being physically active again. Definitely subscribing 😊❤️❤🎉🎉

    Jordan, thank you so much for this video ❤ I could really relate to everything you were talking about and I love the visual ideas- you can see how one ‘slip up’ does not have to erase all of the other days you worked really hard to be consistent. The stories we tell ourselves are very powerful but we can quickly talk ourselves down and spiral into negative thoughts. On the upside, we can also empower ourselves by taking a moment to think about are those thoughts factual, are they helpful? In the past I thought ‘oh I don’t have time to do that!’ But soon realised, what’s the alternative? That takes an immense amount of time and energy and undoes all the hard work and commitment. For the past six months, I’ve really been trying to keep showing up for myself, over and over. Nothing dramatic has happened weight loss wise, which I was initially disappointed with but I told myself it’s okay, we are doing this slowly and sustainably, learning and growing as we go 🌱 and it’s hard to unlearn a lot of the BS but well worth it and only a short amount of time in the grand scheme of things.
    I love the idea of writing negative thoughts into the notes app and then deleting! Such a cleansing and refreshing way to release stress and reset ✨ you’re awesome 🙌 xx

    healthy habit: order one food at a time. especially if you're not sure something will be enough to make you full. if you finish it and you're still hungry, you can order the second thing then, no need to order it in advance

    I work an extremely active job (healthcare, I'm always walking and now i have a herniated disk in my back from lifting a resident that didnt want to be lifted) and only eat one meal a day (I work nocs for 12 hours a day, i can only order one meal cuz restaurants close) but i understand i do drink my calories and i need to force myself to drink more water. If i made that change, i'd be a lot better off.

    I feel the accountability one ive told people i wanted to lose weight and they always tell me they would help me but then never did anything. I told my so called best friend and she would always be like oh you're just you and when she would walk with me she would leave me in the dust and say that i had to push myself??? Like what? She basically came off like she was trying to sabotage me tbh Ive considered making an account for it.

    I regained the 60 pounds i lost and i feel so discouraged. I know its bc i was restricting too much and i don't know how im going to lose it again. So discouraging. If anyone is reading this , please eat enough !
