We really appreciate our food processor for chopping up vegetables and nuts. We have a tendency to par boil the vegetables so I’m sure a chopper just a little easier. Have a blessed day!
That tiller will last forever. I have my pawpaw's honda 110 tiller. He passed away 13 years ago and had it for at least 10 years before that. So excited for spring. Can't wait to see y'alls stuff booming!!!
We have used the conveyor belt scraps to make our walkways accessible for the wheelchairs to get around our kitchen garden. The downside is they are SLICK when wet! Lacy, I had forgotten all about the Cajun Chef! I remember watching him with my Mom. Good memories!
So jealous. Our strawberry patch just had the snow melt that covered it. It is amazing how fast they green up. You are not going to be able to cut the tires into strips that will lay flat for a walkway shut you can use them for planters even paint them in cheerful colors.
I have loved cooking shows since the 70s or 80s. I forget at what point growing up I started watching them. And, YES, I do remember The Cajun Chef! I guarantee! Great show. I honestly don't watch many in recent years. Between the nature of the shows changing as much as they have over the last 20 years and my autoimmune food issues, my whole food journey looks really different now. BUT, I would totally rewatch all the Justin Wilson shows!!!
We are a little behind also on the garden because the weather has been terrible! But we are about to start up in the greenhouse! Can’t wait! We love this time of year!
Your eggs and matzoh is called matzoh Brie (long ‘I’ sound). A great treat with matzoh is taking 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup butter and cook them together until slightly thick. Put pieces of matzoh on a cookie sheet and pre heat oven to 375. Pour caramel over the matzoh and place in oven for 8 minutes. Remove from oven, turn off oven, sprinkle 1 cup of chocolate chips over the top. Place bake in oven (turned off but still hot) for about 3 minutes. Remove and spread chocolate. Let set .
That looks soooo good! I agree, you just can’t trust anyone that doesn’t like chocolate! 😂 Crumbling the matzo & cooking it in with scrambled eggs is called Matzo Brie (rhymes with fry). My late husband was Jewish & he loved it. A food that is served at a Passover Seder is Charoset. It is chopped apples, chopped walnuts, sweet red wine, honey & cinnamon. There are a lot of variations. Some use pears, dried cherries, etc. Whatever tickles your taste buds. I hope y’all have a wonderful Passover and/or Easter. With my husband Jewish & me not, we just called this time of year, Eastover! 😂
I love watching cooking shows, I agree with your husband, but you know that I'm doing, I keep watching till I'm not hungry anymore, and then when I'm not hungry I have all these great ideas 🤣🤣 and then I go cooking, I'm telling you then I cook like a professional ❤❤
Matzo delights look delightful!! Been keeping days of unleavened bread for a lot of years and never made this one but I may try it for a treat to bring to last day for potluck! Looks easy enough! Have been making UL tortillas today and those are a little harder to make it seems to me... hope these days prove to be a spiritually fulfilling and hugely blessed time for you guys! My cabbage has such huge hearty leaves I’ve been using the leaves for wraps and they hold together soooooo much better! Makes great turkey and cheese wraps! Oh I do love my chocolate and I really like white chocolate a lot! Be blessed y’all and see ya in the next vlog!
Hi Mike and family. Just discovered you are in Concord NC. You are the only ones doing homesteading close to me. I live in the Charlotte area and am just fascinated with things you guys are doing. Really enjoy your videos! Keep up the great work!
I love cooking shows. I loved the older shows too! I definitely remember the Cajun chef😄. I always loved Jaques Pepin. I learned so much from him, because French cuisine was very different from what I grew up eating. I loved to watch the original Iron Chef for that same reason. So many different ingredients that I'd never seen before and so much high caliber cooking. It was like the Olympics of cooking! You know who else I learned a lot from...Rachel Ray. I know she has her critics, but she helped me with a lot of very practical techniques. I could go on and on!
Planting after mothers day zone 7a, got some new garden areas dug out and prepped, expanding my food garden this year. Good idea on those strawberry's in the cement. Your matzo bars looked tasty too.
Oh wow that looks amazing !!! I showed my children and they agree and want me to make it. Im totally down to do it! Thank you so much !! I hope you continue to share what you guys do for all the feast and more great recipes for them. I'm so excited to make this!
I grew up watching The Cajun Chef Justin Wilson. And Julia Child. Lydia's Italian cooking. I loved Good Eats with Alton Brown and Paula Deen. The Matzo Delites looks good. Have a Happy Easter.
That looks delicious! Justin Wilson was the Cajun cook. He was great. I like several cooking shows, Pioneer Woman and a couple cooks I watch on You Tube, Brenda Gantt is a southern cook and the Kneady Homesteader has wonderful breads and canning recipes. I love Saylah reaction to being fired. Hahahaha That girl is quick witted and so pretty.
I just received 3 black giants in the mail this week from Murray Mcmurray. The family didn't know how big they would get...🤣 Then I showed them pictures. I'm super excited to have gigantic chickens running around here!!
My grandmother turned me onto to this when I was a wee tike...with Butter and homemade blackberry jam...God I miss them. my grandparents are the only reason I will be on my way to dedicate all my time and energy to homeschooling now & homesteading later this year. We live in a small townhouse, but thats not stopping me...I dont have a channel or anything, but I plan to document the journey to some capacity with hopes to inspire and share with others that even a small space can make a difference to the grocery bill and our family. Love your guys content and the realness factor..as well, keeping your faith a part of your personal story. God Bless ya'll !!! "Fruit to Bear Bruce"

No weeding...nice NiCe NICE...!
Wow, your starts look so happy! I soaked my parsley seeds for a week and planted them and in 5 days 2 out of the 12 I planted are up. I think soaking them so long helped. I've waited weeks before. I don't know if this works better but it said if you soak them for over 48 hours, the seeds have died and that wasn't true for 2 of them so far. We are getting more eggs too. Those Matzo Delights look yummy. I love chocolate, any type.
I’m a total “choc-o- holic”. Can’t get enough. I do know several people like Mike who prefer white chocolate which isn’t chocolate at all. Blessings y’all 💕👍🐶🐶🙋♀️
I love them both, the regular and the white chocolate, but my consistently favorite flavor is vanilla. I always thought it was chocolate until I did a blind test taste.
I've had something like that in the Kibbutz in Israel with date butter, nuts and drizzled dark chocolate! So yummy! I use to smear melted butter then season to taste with your fav spices on matzoes.
Love Matzo crackers with soft butter, and a cup of coffee. I know that's silly but its good 😊 Your chocolate, fruit, and nut topping looks delicious on top of the matzo cracker. Thanks for sharing.
I'm jealous of your unbroken matzo cracker sheets! Every time 'I' open a box, its CRUMBS galore! A broken mess. Really, Lacie, where do you get them whole like yours???!!!!!
Yep! Mike you are the first I have heard of that do not like chocodelicious. White chocolate does taste better in a different kind a way. Thank you for showing how easy this recipe is to make. I will definitely try to make it. It looks really tasty. I thought you would add like goat milk or Carnations Milk. Then I thought that would change the flavor and thicken the white chocolate. I was surprised at the coconut shortening. Yet, it worked very well as a thinner. Good job!
My 31 year old son, doesn't like chocolate except for white chocolate on huskless popcorn. But I have got him to start trying dark chocolate (Hershey's special dark) and I think he really likes it. HSD is my favorite also. Since I got older anyway. Mike maybe you might like it too? Better for you I been told. Lol. I'm trying this with HSD, and swapping dried pineapple for the apricots. I like the taste of apricots, but the texture I can't get through. Justin Wilson, guarentee! He passed at 87. I loved watching him to and from a completely opposite cooking style I also liked Julia Child. She was a butcher block queen! Lol. Thank you for sharing the recipe and God bless.
two fat ladies, they were so entertaining.. and the food! and when they scooter around to get fresh stuff... british. Loved them. This looks like an excellent lunch box treat... nice job! (now I'm hungry)

Funny I don't like chocolate either. Never have even when I was a kid. If I have to eat a piece I will eat 80% dark and only a small piece. I also am not a big sweet fan. Give me fresh fruit and vegetables and that makes me happy. God's blessing to you and yours

Lacie I really enjoy your "how to" talks! You're so funny and down to earth!
The Cajun Chef, is one of the earliest cooking shows I remember watching when I was younger, before food network even existed!!
Chocolate is the best thing since sliced bread
No consternation, or aggravation cutting those onions! Loved watching him cook his Louisiana food😊❣️👍
Happy Good Friday. May God continue to bless you all!
Azariah loved seeing the sprouts! He kept saying “Gorgeous! Gorgeous! That’s so gorgeous!”😂
Good evening!! Always look forward to whatever you have to share.

I remember him, funny man. Thank you for all your goodness. 😊
My Grandma loved watching the Cajun Chef. The matza delight looks heavenly
I remember the Cajun Chef, Justin Wilson. Another favorite of mine from that time was "Yan Can Cook!" If Yan can cook, so can you!
It's good to be different the world would be such a boring place if everyone did everything, thought everything the same.
Have a good day 🌷🌷🌷

One of my favorite is Chopped.
I like any of them shows cause I learn information.
I will definitely be trying this! It looks so yummy. Thanks for sharing.
I also am not a huge chocolate fan. I do love white chocolate. As a kid, my easter bunny was always a white chocolate bunny!
Oh yum, it looks scrumptious.
Beef Steak and 44s are awesome tomatoes.
Oh I can't wait to try to make these Matzo delights!!! That ks for sharing your recipe Lacie ❤️

I'm Jewish. One thing we do is generally, we pull back on buying leavened stuff (chametz is what it's called) as Pesach approaches. Then people put away their chametz and sell it on paper to a non-Jew for the duration of Passover. I am gluten free, so I don't sell mine since I usually don't have any. I make popcorn like that!!! 😋
All kinds, white chocolate and cashews drizzled over popcorn is a good one! 😁
