I envy EVERYONE who was there to watch and participate in this performance! The crowd understood the assigmnemt and its beautiful. This was a masterpiece. Starting to think this world would be so boring without Japan. They might as well make this their Anthem
It's basically the anthem of all anime watchers now really. Even the anime watchers who haven't watched AoT knows about this opening song and they sing it literally.
Japanese anime/idol concerts are pretty incredible when it comes to crowd participation. One of my biggest pet peeves when going to concerts here in the US is the crowd singing along with the performer. While in Japan, there's a form of audience participation called wotagei which is dancing and callouts to the beat of the song. When done well, it's incredible and really enhances the energy of the performance. If you enjoy Linked Horizon, then you might enjoy Kajiura Yuki and her produced groups Kalafina and Fiction Junction. She composes some pretty incredible music as well. She does a lot of orchestral music with amazing harmonized singing/vocalizations. Joe Hisaishi is another composer you might want to check out sometime. His music and soundtracks are iconic. I personally love the orchestral OSTs for anime, and I often compare them to the great film composer's as well. This was a great reaction and I'm really enjoying seeing how impactful Japanese music, animation, and Vtubers have impacted you so much!
This concert happened in January 2018 as the grand finale of Linked Horizon's 2017 tour. Season 2 aired in spring 2017, so this was indeed quite soon after season 2. Linked Horizon released an entire AoT-themed album around that time named Shingeki no Kiseki, lots of great songs that never appeared in the anime

Two is that when its night titans go to sleep, titans dont digest food and it has been theorized by Hange that titans get their energy from sunlight. So if sunlight were to touch the wall titans then they might abruptly start a rumbling.
The latter is correct. As seen in the anime, most titans are inactive at night. The only cases where we have titans active at night were those under the Beast Titan's control

AOT is worth rewatching. I know you love about story telling but once you rewatch, you'll realize how well the author has done from the very beginning.
You know, some of AOT fans started watching this anime just because we heard Revo was making the opening songs. I am one of those folks. As a long time Sound Horizon fans (his original work), I'm happy that he got very big recognition after Bravely Default and AOT. I envy everyone in every Revo's concerts gosh I really wanna go there!!
There's always something great about a concert crowd joining in with the band and song. They really emphasize and show all of us how much they that song and band influences their lives. This was the case with System Of A Down concerts for me.
Linked Horizon has many songs that sound like AoT songs. I remember back before season 3 came out & Linked Horizon dropped a new song that everyone speculated would be the next opening since it matched the vibes of the last 3. Of course, we ended up with Red Swan, a completely different vibe for the series, but a welcome one. Gotta love Red Swan.

No you are seeing ppl that have trained for decades to e able to do this immediately or in a few weeks. Which is why please support musicians. We are not a commodity. It takes the sacrifice of relationships isolation time and health to reach this level. Esp in Japan. Because they believe it in their hearts. And that just the band. The choir the orchestra and conductor as well as the stage management and sound engineers and light designers are a whole other beast themselves.

I wish I could visit a live performance of this. That's not a Crowd - it's a RUMBLING! Linked Horizon seems like a japanese Avantasia with a Gaming/Anime Twist. They also made the Soundtrack for the JRPG Bravely Default and had a whole concert like that.
the thing about making sure the titans shouldnt be shown in the sunlight was mentioned already in the show but titans cant move in the dark. so they could have potentially escaped the walls themselves or at the very least bit some people whilst still stuck in the walls if they were exposed to sunlight for long enough.
If you want another opening that the crowd goes wild with it together, you might want to check a live performance of Renai Circulation. The energy and power of the crowd is something else.

Don't re-watch AOT man u will love it even more. After watching 300+ anime i can tell that there's nothing like AOT this is just unique , every thing from story to animation to op-ed to ost to voice acting to direction to production to impact everything about AOT is just amazing, i thank myself that I pick AOT in 2015 and it changes everything.
They placed a sheet over the wall's crack due to how titans were seemingly being powered by sunlight, rendering them in a near hibernating state. That was why in season 2, the gang stayed in a tower for the night in titan infested territory, because they thought that the titans wont be moving. Right up until the beast titan started chucking titans at them... Another thing of note, it was briefly brushed over with, but the survey corps commences their expeditions very early in the morning. So that they will encounter less titans when leaving the wall.
The thing about sunlight touching the titans; it's a known factor of titan behavior. They go inactive at night or in the case of Hange's experiments they put a tent over the titans they captured. If the wall titan was only being held inactive by the lack of sunlight while encased in the wall the face getting exposed could lead to it becoming active at which point you have a colossal titan size pure titan in a major city. Also, it would expose the secrets of the walls to the public.
Howard Shore did the Lord of the Rings score, which is by far my favorite ever movie score. The Rohan/Rohirrim Theme is just too epic when the trumpets start kicking in, and the Shire Theme just feels like home.

If you are interested in crowd participation I cannot recommend highly enough that you look up the band Blind Guardian performing Bard's Song (in the Forest) at Wacken. Crowd is a misplaced term there. That's the CHOIR.
i think they didnt want sunlight to touch the titans in the walls since itll wake them up and since theyre pretty much just giant pure titans without any commands from the founder they probably would just behave like the other pure titans and that would be kinda bad....

That's why the colossal Titan in the wall couldn't be expose to sunlight That's not that case for abnormals, but the majority can't move at night. 1. Guren No Yumiya is the first opening, this song is called “Shinzo wo Sasageyo!”
2. Shinzo wo Sasageyo! is the 3rd opening, not the 2nd one.
Sasageyo, Sasageyo, Shinzou wo Sasageyo... Shinzou wo Sasageyo means "Give Your Heart"

i think they didnt want sunlight to touch the titans in the walls since itll wake them up and since theyre pretty much just giant pure titans without any commands from the founder they probably would just behave like the other pure titans and that would be kinda bad....
