This is Maharashtra Goa border. Was there 4 years ago during monsoon. Feels wonderful seeing those natural waterfalls and enjoyed the food too

i don't believe it u went to chiplun and didn't go the DEEPAK HOTEL, its serves the best malvani sea food and malvani chicken.

Mud crabs (popular black crabs which appears in early rainy season) are better than these types of crabs. these crabs are not easily available in Malvan region. As I am from malvan, we prefer crab dishes in rainy season only and obviously mud crabs.
Wada need not to be hollow in middle
Mandeli is not traditional Malvani fish, it is more popular in Mumbai region. We get that fish rarely and also it is least popular in region of Malvan. More popular fishes are Mackarel (Bangada), Surmai, King fish

If u really want enjoy native malvani cuisine u hv to visit below kankavli region.
It's not wrong place... The place they visited is entirely kokan coastal belt..
e. g. Atleast they not visited any north india & showing Malvani food & place to call wrong place.
Be it chiplun, kankavali, guhaghar, dapoli, proper Ratnagiri, vengurla etc...
Plus they are staying in Maharashtra and they don't know about curry of buttermilk is surprised to hear..
Advice: people out of Maharashtra should learn deeply about Maharashtra bcz this state has wide range of treasury of knowledge, Nature, Cuisine, Language, History, wearing, people etc in short I can say it's full india in one state of different background.

In Maharashtra Kokan we very famous for this food, Beach & Nature. (Request to North Indian don't spoil kokan, bcz konkani people have maintained its reality till date)

Chiplunkar, a common surname especially among Chitpavan Brahmins. Even the Maratha Peshwas came to Pune from Chiplun 400 years ago and spread from there.

Rohan Sawant that's true if you want true malvani-konkani food you should go to southern Maharashtra, anywhere in sindhudurg district. Food in chiplun where they label it as 'MALVANI' is really awful. Khara malvani fakta sindhudurg jilhyat!!!!!
