Yes you can just use the single cable & I like that you cut the rear brake height adjuster off then said youll have to fit something to lower it lol & congrats on being a granddad
@@RyansGarageUK this piece will rub against metal, very difficult to avoid it rust with any coating. I have stopped using zink plated bolts on my motorcycles after learning it the hard way 🥴
Congrats Grand dad! People sneer at Aldi but some of their stuff is good. I bought their waterproof m/c bags, way cheaper & just as good as branded stuff.
My GS550 was originally designed with dual cables, but by the time I bought it, the twistgrip had been replaced with a single cable set-up. It has never caused a problem and the throttle has always snapped shut as soon as it's released. If it works with 4 mechanical slide carbs, I'm sure it will be ok with 2 butterfly valves.
Another interesting video ... yes life can get in the way some times.....but please please do not lube you chains in this way . Through my many decades in dealer work shops.....i have witnessed more than one horrible accidents involving loose clothing or fingers getting dragged in , am sure many people think this is fine and the correct way to do it .....its not ..........you have a grand child to pic up now...please be VERY careful .
Congratulations on the Grandson. Progress is coming along with the bike, nice one.
Thank you Martin.
Congratulations on becoming a Grandad Ryan 👍
Thank you Derek.
Congrats Grampa .. its an amazing experience.
Thank you. Looking forward to seeing him this weekend. 👍

Thanks Pete. 👍
Well done 👍 but remember to use stainless steel bolts. These zinc-coted bolts get rusty very quickly, especially when cut/drilled into.
Thank you Ki, i will be sure to protect this and all the cleaned up components very soon.

Thank you I must say, I've now used those drill bits a couple of times, and so far so good. 👍🤞
@@RyansGarageUK guess what I picked up in Aldi today.... Yep AUD$9.99, drills. They come highly recommended 🙂
If the return spring on the carbs is strong you can get away with single cable. Have had that set up in the past and it works fine.

Thanks, i do think it will be fine but valued a widr opinion.
I agree this small dual carb setup should be an issue.
