This is creepy but if you’re in situations where your loved ones are in a different state and they’re having a mental breakdown/episode. It helps a lot to see and make sure they’re ok and not in harms way

Yah life360 uses Google mapping service, which recently naused up and bricked the app. There was little support from L360 and uses had to generate their own work around, which wasn't complicated but required a certain idea regarding clearing cache and data.
You can/should zoom out to see the accuracy radius of the location. When Aldo was in the building the background was slightly orange, meaning he could’ve been anywhere within that bubble. Zooming out would’ve shown the radius, Apple just puts the user icon in the center of the bubble.

Google tracks everywhere I go. Sounds creepy but it's super convenient. When I'm looking for a nearby restaurant it knows what I'd be interested in by giving a restaurant a score out of 100%. Also tells me the last time I visited somewhere and how often.
Deleting it all is like deleting my TH-cam account history and seeing a bunch of pop music videos and late night talk shows all over my homepage. I live off recommended rather than subscriptions because TH-cam knows exactly what I want
I've been using Life360 for about a year now, it's great if the app is running continuously in the phone. But if u completely close the app for about 3hrs or more, it will just stack somewhere n says (phone does not have network or WiFi) and the location will be at around the last seen place forever till u open back the app.
Find My just added the new bluetooth feature in iOS 13 and it works much better. I know exactly where my friends are now but Life360 actually gives me a history of that now.
How did test 2 not include Google and not explain why it was excluded? Did I miss something?
Apple does show battery levels on iOS 13. It’s under “devices” rather than “people”

When I was a kid, lying to parents about where you was easy. Back then would say, was going for combined studies with friends and end up in playgrounds. This generation kids will face hard time doing this.

It's really not that hard. We have our ways, and the older generation not understanding technology only makes it better

I search for a tracking app when I go hiking. As I don’t know sometimes where I will stay or go but my family should know in case of I am having an emergency. But only when I go hiking! Not all the time!!! All these apps are all the time tracking me and not when I want to use it only.
Does something like this exist ? Would be glad about any ideas. Thanks a lot.

Google already upload you location constantly anyway, so no extra battery usage. Same with find my.
Life360 definetly use more battery because it send location every second
I knew that military have been working on apps that can track person inside a building via gps . Difficult part here is that gps alone won't be sufficient to track people inside a building. Maybe with data analysis company can get an approximate guess of the location based on previous visits, but whoever solves this problem I am sure Google and Facebook will make them a millionaire.

I know this comment is 2 years old, but I'm looking for the exact same thing!! Something that shares your location automatically but for a given time schedule. Like every Mo-Fr from 5-7pm, for half a year. That should be a given imo, e.g. most would gladly share location for to their sketchy walk home from school/work or their daily walk, but not for every second of their private life. And having to manually turn it on every single time would be quickly forgotten and become impractical.. Did you ever find an app that meets this need?

Reason 3. is trust. I have 30 people who have my location and do not care.
interesting if a little basic. beware that when Life360 has an update it is often far from accurate. like this past week it has shown my children having left school and that it is up to date at that point they walk through the door of home 3 kilometres away from where it says they are. very frustrating and totally unhelpful
I've "teleported" from one place to back home so many times on life360 lolol. It'll say I'm in one location for 2 seconds before I'm transported back to where I was originally staying the whole time.

you forgot to mention the fact that Find My and Google's tracking can work in the background on iPhones and Androids respectively, without the other person to open any apps. Doesn't the Life360 requires you to have the app open?
nope! I’ve used find my friends and life 360 and life 360 simply has more features and refreshes automatically. It also shows how fast a person is driving lol

Yes, if you don't open the app for a while, it won't find people or say sharing location is off for some reason
you will hack the app, accept request for them then you will know their location
