Video games are rated and movies are rated. I wonder why books aren’t rated.

1:33 'that we can not show' 😂 LOL but it's ok for your tween to see it in their local public school library.

Not only tween they wanted these in elementary schools that would mean k-6th grade would have been seeing this BS here so happy they are getting banned from more and more schools

We can’t show them on this newscast, you can’t talk about the depictions nor show them at school board meetings nor at the adult workplace because they are inappropriate, yet it is OK for 7-11 year olds to see them and read it. People need to start prioritizing kids and stop using them as political pawns if they want to put a dent in the mental health crisis.

Huh.. You CAN'T show it on TV. Sounds not so family friendly.

This is gross. These "authors" aka groomers need to stop. It's funny that you look up these books on TH-cam and everyone turns comments off.... why?
If you truly feel that this is right... why not explain yourself???? I reached out to Robin Stevenson regarding her pride book in my kids school and she read my questions but refused to respond. Just a coward. More parents need to join the school boards.
These books can be in the public library. They do not need to be in a SCHOOLS library.

They typically turn the comments off because deep down they realize how inexcusable pushing this garbage on kids actually is. Not even 10 years ago if these same people tried pushing these books they would be put on an offender registry for the rest of their lives.

I reckon they made gmo book ‘so bad’ so parents will get it banned. They WANT to start banning books. This is to trigger that. They’ll then be able to ban books on terrain theory, etc

This author grew up in an abusive home, couldn't read until she was 12, hippy parents ignored her, she wore the same pads for 8 years! She is trying to spread her trauma to other people with this garbage!

@@shaunkellison1761 Maia Kobabe has dyslexia and has described themselves as a right brained , visual thinker and attributes these to being a late reader. Maia also describes eir parents , in the book and in interviews as attentive and also having a loving sibling. They never describe eir home as abusive. The part in the book regarding menstruating details Maia's anxiety and gender dysphoria around getting eir period. Maia does mention leaving pads on for a long length of time (hours) not for eight years. If the book is not for you fair enough. It is a memoir about someone's life and journey. This graphic novel is literally that. It is a a coming of age story told in graphic novel genre. It is a provocative true story of a young person's journey of self discovery. It is not for tweens or young teenagers IMO. It is for older youth , young adults/adults who may find relevance, relate to to the author's story. This book may not be for everyone. There is some triggering material and as it is a graphic novel that adds to the explicit and raw or 'realness' of the memoir. It is though an important book as rarely has a story been told so plainly that a Nonbinary or Trans person, or anyone exploring their gender and sexuality may read and relate to. My opinion is still out as to rather it should be in a school library due to the vast age range and maturity levels in high school. That said to seek legal action against a book store for having the book available is ridiculous and to say it is not about book banning equally so. The largest majority of banned books is LBGTQIA+ material. It is a parent's job to know what a minor in their home is reading or watching and if it is appropriate for them. But teach your children how to think instead of what to think.

These were in middle schools too, with the ages of middle schoolers being 11-13, that’s what I have a problem with. And even if the ones in high school stayed, that’s still way too explicit to be put in schools, I don’t care whether it’s about LGBTQ, it could be a straight cisgender couple and I’d still have a problem with it, not cuz it’s LGBTQ, but because it’s in schools with young children. Some were even in elementary school. A high schooler going to their local library to check it out by means of self discovery is completely ok, but I don’t think it should be in a school. But a more simple solution is to replace those books with less explicit self-discovery books, that way children can still learn and not be subjected to adult graphics.

It’s sexually explicit for the age group it’s intended for. Absolutely unacceptable for any child under 21 to be reading such for primary school education.
