I’ve seen a lot of guys able to emulate EJ’s studio performance perfectly, however (as much I’m happy for people to do so) it’s a wasted effort for me. I’d rather play it ‘in my own way’. As an artist I want to stay true to myself and be original without taking anything away from the track (which is hard to do). I don’t see a point in trying to copy Eric’s performance because at the end of the day, nobody can top it! It’s an incredible performance. If people wanna hear that, the best place to go is of course Eric Johnson, nobody does it better. So you’ll find with my covers, I try to put my own spin on it so people can listen to classic guitar tracks and have something fresh to enjoy at the same time.

To be honest I didn’t even discover this song until Guitar Hero lol (unfortunately) and by then I already had a dozen guitarists I was obsessed with. But I’ve always admired this track.

And there was nothing in this track that was too difficult technically, but I had a hard time with the intro!

This took me about a day to learn, but even on the day of filming, I hadn’t nailed the intro properly, so it took a few more takes to get
