There's another way to get stuff out of bad water. In free cam mode, move your camera until your camera is inside the object, the upper right box will tell you when your in the item. Then just click x to select it and move your camera out of the water, taking the object with you. I've done this a bunch of times when I get things stuck in dirty water.
Thank you Shameless. I've been able to get it to work sometimes too. But shallow water that's bad is really hard because I can't seem to get low enough to grab the item. It just happened to a friend of mine the other day. We couldn't get the item out no matter what, so we destroyed it and built over it. When I'm building in water I always play it safe, just in case. But I have been able to get things out before if the item was big enough.
I've been playing 76 since beta and I've always just built within whatever constraints the game laid out for me. Now I can cheese my camps like everyone else! Haha, thanks for the video!
I saw that bridge the other day on tng live stream. I was like dawg dang thats sweeeeeetttttt looking. Well that those exact words, but you get it. Lol thanks for this up load!
My pleasure! Yeah the bridge actually came out pretty nice. The entire thing is suspended off of tables from underground. Which is attained nice because instead of repeatedly trying to merge it perfectly, I can just adjust the tables underground anytime. Thanks for checking it this video, and for watching TNG's Livestream!!
Thank you sir for all these tips! I learned a couple new things to try. I struggled with my Magnolia Dock build because it was my first time wanting to put stuff IN the water.
I'm really anticipating the Three Ponds location being very popular once the new expansion opens up. I'm actually shocked that no one has actually done a build at that location in the PTS.
Good water, bad water..... 🤯🤯🤯 well I learned a new thing today! I Great video again Moonlight! That table bridge was really nice especially the lights on the posts
I am making an effort to share most of the tricks that I know. Specifically the ones that either no one knows, or no one talks about anymore. Thank you for checking it out buddy!!
Your very welcome, you have been doing a fantastic job putting these videos together, very informative and clear and well edited. Wanted to ask, using the bridge as an example would you build it under the map and then push it up a bit at a time?
@@dazzmead Exactly that. What I usually do is count 'clicks'. So if the main level of the bridge is, say, 30 clicks (meaning how many times I picked up and put down on either the pressure plate or the camp device), then the end pieces would be 29, 28, 27, 26 etc. That said, your standard click on a camp device is worth three clicks on the pressure plate. Which means that for every time you move it up on the camp device, it takes three clicks on the pressure plate to move it down. So on the bridge, I wanted the steps to be shorter. So after getting the main tables into position, I clicked the first step to 30 on the camp device, then pressure plate twice. Next step went to thirty, then pressure plate four times, and so on. That way, I'm not held hostage by the normal height that the camp device floats items.
These videos have been extremely helpful. I really like building but there are SO many issues while attempting it in 76. You are giving us so many ways to get around those issues. Have you thought about doing a video about treehouse builds? Any good tips for that? Most just utilize existing treehouse structures or block most of the tree. I saw one from aussie_kitty_kat that I love the round shape of but it's so close to the ground.
Until I read the end of this comment, I was going to refer you to Aussie's tutorial lol! So I've done a similar treehouse to Aussie, but I did mine differently. I built a roof platform to the height that I want the treehouse. I then freeplaced walls in a circle and adjusted until I got it perfect. (You could also BP a round foundation/wall BP without foundations, instead adding catwalks to the top, and a small floor item as the anchor (but not in the middle, since the tree will be in the middle.) Regardless of how I get the round wall shell, once I add my walls, I remove the roof platform. Then I add my circle of roofs for floors and for roofs. From there, you just need to decide how you want to get up there. It will probably require some custom stairs, so maybe some benches or stools.
@@MoonlightCowboyGaming 🤔Some good food for thought here. Thanks for the ideas. One question though. If I remove the roof platform how will I get roofs/floors under there?
@@winterstealeHere is an example. Snap roofs to the top of walls. Attach an angled roof pointing down to the flat roof you attached to the wall, on the outside of the circle. Flatten that roof. Add another angled roof pointing down going back into the circle. That will be one floor piece. Then destroy that roof, and repeat the process around all of the walls until you have a complete circle of roofs as floors.
@@MoonlightCowboyGaming ahhhh, now I have a visual ! So it's a similar process to what you show for the stairs. I never think of stuff like this it seems.
The stump can be placed underwater. Defensive walls can be placed on the stump. You can use the pressure plate trick to merge the wall into the stump. The trick is easy, just place down a pressure plate, move it (don't walk on it), then pick up/place any two stacked items and they will merge together.
Great video. I have a builder friend named Al who told me to go look at a water place with him that he wanted to build on. I can’t remember if he said it was good or bad water if you could see rain drops on the water.
How did you get the camp module below ground its it possible with free cam. I have not worked unger ground in a while? Unless I needed just underpinnings.
Okay so here's the trick. When underground, just go into freecam above ground, grab the camp device, then switch out of freecam. Make sure you adjust your setting for freecam, so it doesn't follow you underground.
There's another video I did last week for camp devices that was a similar format. I posted this one two hours after I finished it, so this was the only posting I did. I has one unlisted, but the music was copyrighted, so I changed it the music and posted.
Haha! Even if they do, it doesn't change the fact that you're a pioneer. I think it would be cool if more people used the knowledge from tutorials like this, combined with inspiration from builders like you, to create crazy builds like your boat scene! Thanks Jackomara!
@@tyronecharizard363 That really depends, but usually no. Although you can sometimes clip upper floors into underground water, it's not consistent. If you are hell bent on building underground, my advice would be to find a steep hill to build into. This way you can bring your foundations underground, and they will clip through most water. There is a great spot in the Mire near Harper's Ferry for this. Here's a link to that camp video for context. th-cam.com/video/OWr28wFcZZY/w-d-xo.html
@@MoonlightCowboyGaming thanks but I do not understand but I will process this in like a week I’m building on a cliff near the pumpkin patch between the savage divide and mire there’s like this neat lil spot that has a pool of water but a waterfall it’s so cool but so annoying cause I Alr built so much
Hey man I appreciate the video. I’m a noob at 76 and can really only do the most basic of builds and am looking for advice. My struggle is I’m really happy with the design of my camp but I keep getting the “must not be placed in water” I can build a foundation that is half on land and half in the water but then I can’t place anything on that foundation, or at least not the half that is built over the water anyway. I know the trick of moving the foundation to completely dry land, placing what items you’d like and then moving the foundation back into place but this doesn’t always seem to work. I don’t want to build in the water I just want to place items on the foundation that is built in the water. If you have any insight to overcoming this that would be amazing. It just very aggravating because the game “thinks” I’m building in water when on my screen it’s all on dry land.
OK Im feeling like your stalker now. I'm not tho, I just appreciate your help and I just have to say thank you again.
