Unfortunately not with the current walls we have available. There was a time that the Fort Fortress walls did the same trick, but that has since been patched.
Hmm. I can't seem to be able to do a wallmerge. Does this only work with the abandoned mine set, or do i just overlook something? Still, once again, i learned a lot today. Thanks for that.
The wall merge works three ways. You can do it with the horizontal Abandoned Mine set. You can also do it with snapping a wall through destroyed angle walls, then repair them and turn them into half walls with the Blue Ridge set. Or you can use the new destroyed concrete walls.
This will be simple for you probably. I have a large boulder. Concrete foundation built about 65% into the boulder. The side that's in it, is the side I want to snap stairs into, to access upper floor of building. Stairs won't snap to that side, but will snap to side 90° to the right, which is open. Is there a remedy?
I wish I had better news, but stairs are far less flexible that foundations in that regard. Stairs are a pain to work with, so I don't use them very often. And when I need stairs, I usually try to build my own custom stairs. You could try a freeplace stairs blueprint if you need them in a special spot.
@MoonlightCowboyGaming I found a workaround in the interim. I was able to move the foundation back a square using the downbuild-and-remove technique, and although the placement is iffy, the visual works, with the added benefit that I was able to foundation stack a floating spot. Imperfect, but it works. Now to figure out how to build around this tree. Good thing it's a Mothman-themed build MWAHAHAHAHA. Wish I could afford this Mega-Bundle, that would help, but I've got enough pieces to make due for now. Thanks for the analysis and reply. I'm getting to the point where my challenges are almost done and my plan collection is filling out, so building will be my focus, soon, and you'll be one of my resources, going forward, thanks to your interaction. I appreciate it. :)
When you say "new walls" are you referring to the House of tomorrow building kit? I keep hearing you say that and need to know if I need to buy this kit before it leaves the store in the morning. Thank you for the tutorial video. These are really useful for those that are into camp building and want to try to take things to the next level. I have no idea how the community would figure these things out without the creators on youtube. j Also if I can trouble you with one more question...When I built over water, it was the pond with the acid deposit. The game kept telling me that I couldn't place things on water, so it wouldn't allow me to put anything on foundations that were over the water. Do you suppose that was just a bug at the time or is there a trick to building on foundations placed on water?
The walls are the Blue Ridge set. The slant walls turn into half walls, thus making the trick possible. As for water, it depends on the water you're building on. Some lakes and rivers have different build limits and thresholds than others. I will say that building over a deposit can also be tricky sometimes. It's probably not anything you're doing wrong. The game has some spots with more restrictions than others.
The only set that works now for the slant wall truck is the Blue Ridge set. The Fort Fortress set used to also work, but it appears to have been patched.
