Paiting the 86 black with a very tiny bit of gold metallic would be exciting stuff. Definitely color match the bay since you are right there. Stoked!
Would have to be a very small amount, as gold flake in black tends to turn the whole thing green. Look at Taylor’s Miata lol the base coat was plain gloss black and that thing is a dark green now lol
@@zerohourdriftdefinitely, why i said a very tiny bit. U dont even wanna see it until you are 5 feet or so close to the car. Imagine if Jim made it like a Black Edition Trueno then with just that little hint of gold hidden in the paint. Would be unreal
@@TunnelMonk I think Subaru nailed it with their java black, looks black most of the time, but when the light hits it the right way it turns gold. It's one of my al time favorite stock colors on a car.

I’d go with a dark navy blue metallic! If you go with a dark enough color it’ll look almost black just way cooler when the light hits it! And I vote for paint matching the bay! I always hated the flat black engine bays every 80’s car ended up with lol

A colour to look at for the '86 - BMW Mini Enigmatic Black... A very dark blue-black. Would have loved to have that on our current Cooper S, but we went for the older dark grey instead.

Should do the bay in a metallic midnight blue, will look black in shade but show a real dark blue in certain light.

I had an ‘86 Z for my first car back in ‘96. It was so awesome. That was cool to see. Took me back to the good ole days.

Hell yeah a Vert! Vert gang 4life!!! Well S13 Vert gang lol. Can't wait to see what he does to it and how much fun he has drifting it! I love driving my 93 Aztec Red Vert more than my 89 Pearl white coupe I had before. It's mind blowing how free and adrenaline pumping it is to rip around with the top down! 😎😎😎

Verts are awesome! I wanted a Z and my wife wanted a vert. Picked up mine this last fall from a 73 year old completely stock with maintenance records.

Dailying a Miata in Texas, I know what it's like to have a convertible in a place where it's only appropriate to put the top down maybe 5% of the time you drive the car. But, speaking from experience, I believe it is worth it, if for nothing else but the experience of driving with two fewer pillars, no roof, and MAXIMUM airflow. HOWEVER, my Miata only came in convertible (unless you have $2,500 sitting around to spend on a hardtop), and it looks okay with the soft top up... whereas the 350Z is almost unarguably fugly in its convertible form. Regardless, I think that the 350Z convertible IS slept on, and I hope to watch the blue vert progress into a very functional drift missile. Please put updates on this build in future videos!
Do a unique color like the blue s15, but go out of a confort zone an do a sunburst orange for the ae86 🍊 🤟🏼🔥

VEERTS are definitely under rated, i been drifting mines for a while now... the problem is that most tracks require some type of 4 point/roll bar and unlike other verts.. the z verts were build weird and fitting one and keeping the top operational is a struggle!!! which the way i did it( its not the best way but it does pass tech....barely .. and it does keep the top working).. so a lot of people rather not deal with it... but drifting with the top down is definitely a DIFFRENT VIBE.... cant wait to see what you guys do
In my humble opinion; verts look best with a full cage so there is resemblance to a roofline when the top is down.
