I love how similar Nero looks to his DMC4 counterpart with just the hair change despite the artstyle and engine difference.
Really thought I could do a no damage run on DMD Vergil, but alas he got me... even though Nero wasn't stunned or knocked back despite not being in DT... This is curious. Still got the SSS Battle Rank and kept the fight as engaging as possible, so I hope you enjoy the video. :)

I went through a very weird journey with Nero's hair. I have always liked his hair from 4 but understood the criticism people had that it was too much like Dante's. Then just before 5 was announced I actually thought to myself "actually a punk style short haircut would fit Nero. A shame now that Donte had that kind of hair and so people will associate it with him". Then the trailer for 5 dropped and I was like "Oh they agree this kind of hair fits. Awesome. I don't think either style is better but now he can stand out more with his own look.". To finally after beating I think like 3 difficulties in the game and seeing mods that gave him his 4 hair back being like "His 4 hair is way cooler. I really gave this one a chance but their is no denying his 4 is better". hahaha
I wonder if Capcom will add actual retro outfits for all characters. Because color swaps are maybe fine (I like how they acknowledging DmC with Dante's alt color, like they did in DMC4:SE), but it would be cool to have, for example, DMC2 Dante or DMC4 Nero. Or maybe an actual DmC-style costume for Dante, like in MvC: Infinite?
That would be pretty awesome, but as of now we'll have to rely on mods.
I don't think so. For this game they created actual clothes and scanned them to have a 3d models. They won't bother with that for other costumes. Too costly and no profit. But you can't really blame the devs for that. Photorealistic art style demands certain sacrifices.

@@Spherrum they don't nee to go THAT far for the alts, i'd rather have 3 costumes per character than 1 photorealistic one, and i doubt i'm the only one.
besides the ultra HD of photoscan doesn't really matter too much when you're sword-trick-sword-tricking around or going crazy with the tomboy.
also hooded vergil is already in the game and usable, when's the official costume?

No, you dont understand, that line was literally old protagonist Dante passing the torch to new protagonist of the series-Nero. Vergil was the antagonist and anti hero the whole series, not the main character

Honestly they should just gave him back his OG Devil Bringer, way more badass, and the short hair thats in DMC5 is way better i think, technicly long hair is more disadvantageous than a short one

Think it was more like he tired himself out fighting Dante but was still impressed by Nero's power.
Yep the only logical explanation I can think of . Doubt Nero got powered up so bad by the writers that when he was getting decked on by these two for the entirety of the game and suddenly that he's on par with Veterans like Dante and Vergil who recently just got their Majin forms on top of their already overpowered devil triggers.
Vergil wasn't exactly playing with him and wanted to test how strong is nero even vergil was impressed by his power and he wants a rematch and well dante not that he doesn't care but he was so tired that he isn't capable of fighting anymore
@@NinjapowerMS well not actually as it turn out that demons can get stronger with blood and ofc they are hybrids and so their demonic aspect keep consuming their human blood so they keep getting stronger but nero have more human blood than both dante and vergil which explains how he was able to reach their level so early

Yeah, sadly the fight is only so dynamic your first run. Seriously if you haven’t already got/beaten the game, savior the first time you do this fight. Even when you unlock a new difficulty and play through again it won’t be the same

But his "phantom" Devil Trigger from DMC 4 looks completely different.
nope. According to the dmc1, the devil trigger form will change itself to settle the devil weapon that the subhuman use. An example of Vergil. If it have no devil weapon, the form of it will be same as dmc4 but without the thing that place the yamato. As we know dmc4, Nero react with the yamato. And the devil trigger form has awaken by the devil weapon, with the thing that store yamato on left hand but not the full form as he didn't react with more devil weapon. But after Nero has reacted with the devil bringer that made by the small and different devil parts, the devil trigger has fully awakened.

oh I see， the form of the full devil trigger in dmc4 is same as the dmc5 but changed the colour and the wings. The concept art version wing is basically same as dmc5 sin devil trigger.

@@synls7813 Actually I had to look really closely to realize that with the exception of wings and that stupid hood it's the same model.
That said I'm pretty sure you wasn't able to see everything that was under the hood in DMC 4 and that's the part I got a strong Deja Vu about in DMC 5.

How exactly do you charge Exceed so fast? I thought only works hitting an enemie with decent timing, you charged middle air without hit Vergil
You don't need to actually hit an enemy to charge exceed, just pressing the charge button at the right timing after an attack counts. He is also using the Max-act which fully charges the exceed gauge at a more narrow timing.
Now try it on keyboard and fight for your sanity xD

Vergils look in dmc 4 se, to me, was the best. It was basically a remake of the dmc 3 vergil, only cleaner. Honestly i dont really like his new look in dmc 5, i dont feel like that face would suit his combat style and his characteristics. am i the only one?
The NeoSmoke You know, it’s up to you, mate, giving personal perception of characters’ design and all that stuff. At least in the field of drawing and modelling DMC isn’t anime anymore (it’s quite an idea that Capcom is Western-oriented company, so why not?), therefore, Vergil’s new appearance makes sense, it’s in harmony with new approach to graphics. Personally, I like both versions (it would be pretty unhonest not to admit that I’m in love with new one though).

Nero's hair was changed for two reasons. One, in Japan longer hair is seen as weird or rebellious. Like the term "letting your hair down". Why his hair grows longer when he DT's. Also he looks more like vergil. Still like the mod though.
