Man THIS IS GONNA BE A FUN SERIES!!! Im not even an engineer 😂 I just have a sincere interest in how this kinda stuff works!!!!!
Sounds like someone should become an engineer
Too good!! Looking forward to watching the tour content.
That sounds like we're getting a fun series to watch. I always love behind the scenes stuff from tours.
Looking good! I would highly recommend labeling ALL your stuff if you haven’t yet. Touring has a funny way of letting your cables walk off… I have a logo sticker on just about everything now, or at minimum some colored gaff. Especially if you and the drummer are bringing identical mics.
Already a step ahead of you.
Thanks man! We appreciate this kind of content. Happy for you
Oktavia on hats, I doubt theres anything I'd change that out for, its been my go to for years, so good. FOH and live stream, thats some work, I look forward to see/hearing it!
cant wait to see the tour vlogs!
Nice setup, and good luck on the tour.
Have you considered swapping the P24 system for a Furman Power Conditioner when you are doing show? Something like a M-8DX. I truly love this channel and I've learned alot. Thank you so much and good luck with the upcoming shows!
No I haven’t.
Hell yeh! Good luck. Stay safe and dont forget to upload some pics of banners to rate 😂
Cool!! Thanks for sharing Chris.
Nothing like your own Portable Rig! This is exciting! Would you be supplying power distribution (ie extension cables, power strips to amps/racks/pedals/FOH) or would the house/venue be supplying that? This is an outstanding setup, man!
Venue would supply power but I have a power strip for my rack that takes care of everything.
Lets Go Chris! Watching From Philippines
Nice Video and straight to the point! Keep it up!
I really hope i can get the Wing Compact soon as its just perfect. Especially with Waves and Dante directly built in u safe a lot of money instead of hammering endless bucks for extension cards
Thinking about getting a Wing this summer, have fun on tour
A Wing Compact! You really have a nice awesome setup man. :)
Thanks. When the case finally arrives I’ll be using the wing at Dongbatz again.
Got my compact in a case from Thomann, (Thon), i can use it on the base or lft it out to stand alone.
Just about able to lift it short distances and in / out of the motor. Great case with piece of mind to protect this terrific mixer.
I used a case from them before and I liked it but the case I ordered had a handle with wheels on it.
Good choice on the Lewitt 140 Airs. We did the same thing, and the drummer likes them in his ears more than the SM81s we were using.
The demos I saw made it a no brainer buy.
I would recommend Santosom cases.
Did you not hear me say I already have one ordered?
Nice setup!
Damn son
Don't forget to take some time to eat some good food and soak in some of the place(s) you travel to. One regret I've had for years is not taking the time to look around enough while on the road.
If we have time in Florida to explore, I will take full advantage of it.
What I would really like to see in this rig is more Rupert Neve Designs gear in this rig…the Master Bus Transformer specifically. Gotta get some of that transformer sauce on your mixes.
I don’t have $4,000 lying around.
You should try those mxl v53m 's on your guitar amps, i have really liked how warm they sound on amps
Too bright for my taste. On acoustics they sound great.
I'm using the ProX case you probably had ordered. If this thing got desintegrated in shipping, it was probably a pretty nasty accident tbh.. Yes its a bit heavy, but it's feels like its built like a tank. here's the Sku from sweetwater. The case i got model number. XS-19MIX14ULTHW . Good luck in your hunt!
That’s the exact case I ordered.
I literally said I found a case and it’s arriving Thursday.
@@chrishammillaudio yea i got ya. Was just shocked that the other one got destroyed. I'm more curious what happened to it. Like did they drop a shipping container on it or something?🤣
I don’t know what exactly happened. Probably fell from a shelf and the angle of which it fell destroyed the case. All I know is, that case is 50+ pounds and would have been too heavy with the console so the lighter case I ordered will be better for me personally.
The boring thing is, spares. Be sure to bring spares for just an about everything.
I don’t work as a traveling FOH sound engineer but I do work as a sound engineer in television, and when shooting on location we got to have spares for just about everything.
If something brakes or gets lost.
Well aware of this.
good luck...
Thoughts on the SHURE BETA-DMK7 Drum Kit mic set?
Never used it.
hey Chris. If you are looking for a good strong case in Poland there is a great company barczak cases. from what I know they also ship to America
Couldn't find a Wing Compact case on their site but thanks.
This is one wicked setup - only ting it's missing is the PA speakers .... (they can come in the future) but I hear the Pre-Sonus ones are good for coverage
the cdl series are surprisingly good blows the qsc kla right out of the water
I don’t need a PA if the band is playing venues that have their own PAs already.
But yes in the future if I have a storage space I’d get my own basic PA setup. I would need to buy a van first to transport everything.
Harbor freight have cases that are similar to pelican cases but much more affordable
I literally said I ordered a case and even linked it.
Im aware I was just saying that they are a affordable option
@@ironblast5 Why would I order another case when I already ordered a case? Harbor Freight doesn't make a case for the Wing Compact.
Get the SKB case
I literally said I ordered a different case and linked it in the description because the SKB case wouldn’t be ready until late March. Pay attention.
Cool! Vox mics?
Band has their own mics.
Are you not going to make Worship Mixdown Meltdown content anymore? I miss that content..😢
Still making it.
@chrishammillaudio looking forward for it.
how does the wing hold up to a digico sd 11. I see tons of bands touring with that small console. def a little more expensive
a big step up from the x32 I imagine
One costs $2,500, the other costs over $14,000. Not worth even trying it to compare. Ridiculous price.
@@chrishammillaudio I imagine most bands rent em for tours. seen the aristocrats in a small club in Toronto. thats what they had at foh. didnt want to use the venue's avid sc48 I guess
Never used one to compare but I’m sure the manuals are online to read and compare features to the Wing.
I’ve mixed on a Digico before and got better drum sounds on the X32, so the Digico badge means nothing to me.
To be honest, it's all courses for horses. You can get an awesome mix on an x32 or a digico. I've never been blown away by digico. Most of their consoles are quite dated now in terms of extra FX and processing stuff. They're very easy to use, GUI looks like it was made in the 90's and the physical designs are ugly (except the S series which look nice) but I like the channel strip concept and they sound good. Good PA and a good room, a good band and good mics play more of a part in good sound than the desk does. Allen and Heath Dlive and Avantis do sound particularly good, as does Yamaha Rivage - but really all modern digital consoles released in the last 20 years or so have good conversion and preamps.
