    Fiji has an awesome oral tradition and the Fijians themselves have incredible memories. I once rocked up to a backpackers about 4 years after staying there the first time and the lady on the front counter said "nice to see you again Steven". It was unbelievable.

    I like having the menus included, as it helps give a better sense of the true/total cost of a stay. Especially in resorts that are removed from any other food options close by.

    Thanks for this review! It’s one of the main reasons why we choose the stay here!!!
    We stayed in one of the beach facing bure, and those rooms are amazing. We basically had a private beach as it was so quiet even though the resort was at capacity
    Also we had unlimited bottles of water in our room every day form housekeeping

    You know what would be awesome? Maybe you could also add in the beginning at one of those info screens some information about the size of the hotel (beds/capacity/rooms?) sometimes spaces look quite small, but depending on the size of the hotel they might be adequate, which is hard to tell since you usually film in off-times…

    Thank you for this review! We are going there at the end of March 2024 and were super happy to see you went in March as well! Can you tell me how rainy it was there for you? I am thinking of booking a private charter as a surprise for my husband's birthday but heard it rained a ton and didn't want to invest the money if the weather was going to be yukky. Can you provide some insight on the weather when you were there? Also, I heard through other reviews Lagoon House was not good, thank you for confirming, I am going to cancel my reservation there. Also, did you do all-inclusive? We did but wanted to see if you did also! Did you find there was enough to do during the day to keep you entertained or did you do any excursions? Thank you for any info you can provide!

    Curious about the water quality in the lagoon. The channel to the ocean is relatively small and off to one side. Wondering how often the water in the lagoon turns over, and if it seems at all stagnant. I know it is obviously salt water, not fresh water, but enough people, suntan lotion, etc. into the same water at some point it won't be so fresh.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, I’m no scientist… but considering the lagoon is around 100++ times larger than any pool I’ve ever seen, I’d say you’d be okay lol. Thanks for watching 🩴

    • @tfft

      Purple is for favorites, teal is recommended, yellow is caution and red is warning.
      I always try to score based on what I think the preferences of someone actually staying at that hotel would be, so sometimes there’s a slight disconnect between my score (which I try to not make personal) and my actual preferences. So, for long time viewers, the colors are a ‘quiet’ way of letting them know what my personal thought is. Thanks for asking!

    Can u do ShangriLa Hotel Tokyo? This hotel opened in 2009. I stayed there in summer 2019 and I really enjoyed it. It is one of the pricier 5 star hotel and the price really matched the service and quality. The service is very elegant and the architecture is elegant and grand from the public areas and elevators to the room. Elevators have a chandelier in them and a beautiful cab. The lobby is very beautiful and high end top tier luxury feel that meets expectations. The entrance on the first floor has a little boutique run by the hotel that sells luxury watches and jewelry near the elevators that take u up to the 28 floor lobby. Even tho the hotel is over 10 yrs old, the timelessness grand design helps keep it modern without the feeling of new. Breakfast buffet concept is a bit weird as the buffet itself is really small and u order the main course made to order from a menu separately all in one price. The food from the buffet and the menu are both high quality and worth the high price tag. The lobby lounge has some really high quality food even tho it’s expensive, the price is well worth it. The wonton noodle soup my party ordered have excellent quality and decent quantity. The other food (which I forgot) I had from the lobby lounge is also high quality and well worth the price tag. The service in the entire hotel is good from the front desk, restaurants, and housekeeping. It’s the most luxurious hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life. I highly recommend u try this out if u go back to Tokyo.

      Brand consistency, laziness, lack of creativity, cost, take your pick haha. I would guess that in situations like this the contracts would say something like: 'either install a standard dining venue from one of our prefab formats using our library of names and marketing materials or submit your plan for an original dining venue'... the latter of which surely would cost the developer much much more. We have watched a few of your reviews, and generally find them ok, but have a real issue with this one. We stayed there in June 2023, in an Ocean View Bure, struggle to get to four star. One wall in the bathroom was all glass, frosted for privacy, but as it faced East, let all the light in early in the morning. Ok, fine just close the door, but it too was glass, with gaps above & below. So you cannot have a dark room to sleep in, btw, all the switches light up, so “ambient light” floods the room.
    The food at the restaurants was ok, however, service was so poor. Meals missed, or wrong meals bought. Often we were forgotten, and had to ask to have our order taken. Frequently during our 7 night stay, parts of the menu were not available.. Room servicing was a joke. It was a lottery if the room was done, and we had to ask for towels, as they took them, just didn’t replace them. I wont even go into the check in hassles we had, but as a “sorry” were invited on a sunset cruise. This was great, but when we asked around, everyone on the cruise was a complimentary l sorry” cruise. Probably says something about the service levels.
