You're a really good demonstrator- Your video is highly recommended. For those interested in a new or nearly new camper, we spent a lot of time researching features on an easily half ton towable camper and this was the best layout we could find. To Murphy bed or not to Murphy bed, that is the question. I was sold on the Minnie Winnie FBS, then decided that I liked the Rockwood 2205s because they seemed to have just a bit "more"(love the true theater seating)than the Winnebago. And now you show me this. You don't play fair, lol. Great video, as usual, Sir.
@@tedharvick9010 You bet. Basically imagine if you just took the bunks house of this one and got a little bigger bath and more storage. If you're not looking for bunks, then the 2507S is THE WAY to go!
I think a Murphy bed in a small camper is making more and more sense to me. When it's spitting rain or super windy and cold outside, the couch makes it much more liveable then having a huge bed taking up a quarter of the floor space.
Hi Josh. Thank you for all your great videos. Always helpful, always fulll of great information. We are looking at replacing our Apex Nano because are 12 year old son grew much faster than we thought he would. Can you tell us the size of the bunk bed mattress. Also, I'm 6' 1" and wondering what size the Murphy bed mattress is. We live in the Detroit area and plan to come out to Coldwater to look at 1. Thank you again for all the great information.
That's the trick with bunks -- most of them are pretty much the same size (around 74"). Additionally, most murphy beds are also 74" long (camp queens). A double-size bunk might let the kiddo sleep cross-wise and feel better. Otherwise you might need to consider something MUCH larger like a catalina 293QB with a nearly 8ft long rear L-Bunk.
I like how you show everything including the roof and the front seal on the roof, but I don't like how that front membrane looks bubbled at the front seal. I would think that it should lay flat with no bubbles along the front edge seal @ 23.16.
I love the new enhancements to this rv. Can tell me more about the capital grill? Can I use it with pots and pans? We like cooking outdoors. Do you know why Rockwood decided to remove the sink?
Capital Grill burns hotter than downtown Hades & is better in windy scenarios. It's also larger than a common 2-burner which is why they had to drop the sink.
I’ve heard they switched the door hinges for the bathroom now. It was previously impossible to open the bathroom door when the ladder was in place and my kids are too little to move the ladder. Is it now possible to access the bathroom WITH the ladder in place?
Great question, Mark. I don't know off hand. If that's a significant factor in your purchase decision, then definitely give our team a call so they can put hands on the RV to verify.
Thanks for the video! Question: We’ve heard that the ladder for the top bunk blocks the bathroom door from being opened. Is that true and is there a solution?
It does a bit. It's not intended to be setting there the entire time -- just when the kids need up or down. One idea may be to shorten it a bit so it stays more vertical & doesn't obstruct the bath door if you're seeing a more permanent option. There are also alternative ladders or having someone make one that fits it differently as possibilities.
Can you confirm/dispel 2 rumours (since Forest River’s website is woefully out of date)? First... do all 25 foot mini lites now have 58 gallon fresh water tanks? And second... is the underbelly now HEATED in addition to being enclosed?
Hey Josh! Quick update... Rockwood rep confirmed that all new Mini Lites are being equipped with 52 gallon fresh water tanks which amounts to 58 gallons of total fresh water capacity when you factor in the 6 gallon water heater.

I noticed many of the new outdoor kitchens has no sink including this one. Let alone a plumbed one. What about that rumor that some of the Mini Lite models will be coming with a ceramic toilet soon, any truth in that?
It's possible. I haven't heard anything to that extent.
Wow, I like this one! A little too heavy for my 4runner, so I'm hoping I can find something similar that's a bit lighter.
What are you towing specs for the 4Runner? I might have some ideas, but want to make sure I'm directing you down the correct path.
@@JoshtheRVNerd its rated to pull 5000 lbs w/ a 500 lb. Tongue weight. I would certainly be getting a weight distribution hitch and a stabilizer bar too.
@@RangerStranger5 Great info here. The Apex 208BHS is one that jumped right into my head as it's basically a squished down version of this Rockwood. You can also compare it to the highly similar Winnebago 2306BHS here: bit.ly/2v0LFZy
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks a bunch!
This is the unit I would have went with if my wife didn’t want canvas bunk ends. So we compromised by getting the 233s Roo.
Is that like when I wanted a dog and my wife wanted a cat so we compromised and got a cat?
@@JoshtheRVNerd
There's no US in compromise.
Do they make a rear lounge or living with murphy bed in 25 to 27 foot?
I've asked MFGs to build a "backwards" murphy bed model to create a rear living arrangement, but none have done so yet. No such floorplan currently exists.
@@JoshtheRVNerd ok thanks
Is it possible to put a 2 inch trailer receiver at the rear of the 2509s, I have a Thule 4 bike carrier I would like to install back there. Also I hear rumor that some of the Mini Lite models will be coming with a ceramic toilet soon, any truth in that?
It's possible, but would need to be done aftermarket.
