Game 7 was also the same day New England’s Patriots had that insane 42 point 1st half in Miami

This 2007 Red Sox team was so loaded, best of remaining 2004 heroes met with the next generation in Pedroia, Papelbon, Ellsbury, Youk, and the veteran additions of Beckett & Lowell.
The most complete Sox team I’d ever seen up until the 2018 squad

In a season with many regular season collapses (Mets-Padres-Brewers-Mariners-Dodgers-Tigers), I guess its also expected that we would have have at least one postseason collapse (sadly, it had to be Cleveland).

RSOX-Indians, facing each other for the fourth time in postseason history = 1995 ALDS, 1998 ALDS, 1999 ALDS, and now the 2007 ALCS
Kenny Lofton and Manny Ramirez played in each of those previous three postseason series. Manny played with Cleveland in 1995-1998-1999 ALDS against Boston, and now with the RSOX in the 2007 ALCS against Cleveland.

Josh Beckett was dominant that postseason, particularly in Game 5.
It also probably helped the Indians brought his ex in to sing God Bless America lol.

Moral of the story: Don't psych up the Boston Red Sox in the playoffs (Yankee fans learned this the hard way)

Kenny Lofton is once again involved in a team that had a postseason collapse, and three of those times have been against the RSOX =
    - 1999 Indians (against the RSOX in the Division Series)
    - 2002 Giants (against the Angels in the World Series, mainly that game 6)
    - 2003 Cubs (against the Marlins in the NLCS)
    - 2004 Yankees (against the RSOX in the ALCS)
    - 2007 Indians (against the RSOX in the ALCS)

The best series in the 2007 Major League Baseball Playoffs which were a festival of sweeps. This was the only series that went the distance.

also it was an odd year, the Best team in the NL that year was the 90-72 Diamondbacks, usually the best team in the league usually has 95 wins or more

for all intents and purposes, this was the REAL World Series.
I know they had one afterward, but that was just a 4 game ceremonial victory lap for surviving this slugfest. My god, the drama of this series, the Tribe getting one game away from going back to the Fall Classic and doing what was though impossible, defeating NY and Boston back to back to get there...and then the Red Sox did what the Red Sox do: hit hard, hit a lot, and string together a 3 win streak to go back to the Fall Classic.

@@chrisuncleahmad789 i think Rocktober would have fared better if the Tribe got it done in 5 and the WS started right after. The Rockies had over a week off and when the series started, the Sox took it to em and never let them in the series at all.

2007 Josh Beckett is still CRIMINALLY under-rated. At mid season Beckett was topping off at 100 mph on the 4 seamer, 97 with the 2 seamer, a 91 mph Change-up and a devastating 12-6 to boot. Down the stretch in the ALCS/WS through the wear & tear he was still touching 97-98 mph with his 4 seamer and 95-96 mph on his 2 seamer. Beckett pitched circles around C.C. in the ALCS twice. Beckett should have been awarded the 2007 CY Young. 2007 Josh Beckett = PURE F%CKIN' TORQUE.

21:45 Joel Skinner holding Kenny Lofton at third base late in the game as the possible tying run.
Also, during the final weekend of the 2005 season, when Cleveland was trying to make the postseason, Joel Skinner also held the game-winning-run in the bottom of the 9th inning at third base, when many felt he should have send the runner. Cleveland eventually lost that game in extra innings, and Cleveland missed the postseason in 2005 when they had that collapse in the final week of the season.
Skinner was the interim manager for Cleveland during the second half of the 2002 season when Charlie Manuel resigned after the first half of that season.
I liked the job that Skinner did in that second half in 2002, and I was very surprised that he was not given the manager job after the 2002 season. Skinner was moved to be the third base coach after the 2002 season.
These two situations in the final weekend of the 2005 regular season and at Game 7 of the 2007 ALCS were his revenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

Ironically, both years the Cavaliers made the NBA Finals.

12:58 RSOX with back to back to back solo home runs. And Manny "celebrating" the third one, even though the RSOX were still down by 4 runs

15:34 Kenny Lofton and Josh Beckett also had drama with each other back in the 2005 season on May-24-2005, and for the same reason as well, since Beckett also back then didn’t like that Lofton does that bat-toss-drop-stare whenever he walks.
This was when Beckett was with the Marlins while Lofton was with the Phillies.
Beckett has always been a drama queen
You can check it out on the SW561 video from May 24, 2005

I knew when that happened, the Red Sox were going to win the series. Just like Yankee fans giving Pedro a paternity test in 2004, if theres one thing you don't do is give the Francona led Red Sox any bulletin board material. Why? Because those group of idiots will get you at the worst possible times.

Carmona and Sabathia were just bad in this ALCS, in both starts that they both made.
Carmona lost game 6. He also pitched poorly in game 2, but the Cleveland offense and bullpen won the game.
Sabathia lost game 1 and game 5. Pitched poorly both games. Sabathia also pitched poorly in his game 1 start against the Yankees in the Division Series.

Unless a starting pitcher starts 3 games and pitches great in all 3 games, he shouldnt win a best-of-7 MVP
