    Currently in step 3/4 of FTO. Everything in the video was useful and pretty accurate. I would just say that day shift is pretty damn lame. Calls are time-consuming and uninteresting lol. Thefts, frauds, property-damage accidents, etc. But I agree with everything else. Cool vid. It's interesting because i remember watching the video before i started the FTO process and now I'm almost done and watching this again. Just go into everyday excited and eager to learn more. They don't expect you to learn at the speed of light, but rather learn from your mistakes everyday. Anyways, good video my dude. Keep it up.

    Thanks for making this video. As someone that is starting the Academy with the NYPD in January, I always wonder what FTOs expect from you. One of my goals is to become an FTO before trying to go for SGT because I enjoy not only teaching others but learning about people and how they function in the workplace.

      Hey man, thank you for the videos. But i wouldn't say only police officers, but law enforcement it self.(i understand you do specialize in police force) but something i would like to see is a workout video. Maybe like a shorten workout video of rep. And sets, maybe even length of time you workout. I'm 6 months out to my correctional academy date. I'm working out, but i want to see what other law enforcement officers do to workout. Also your duty belt set up. You may already have videos similar to those but i just subscribe to you yesterday.

    Nice vid. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there. A piece of advice re the cuffs. I used to carry 2 double cuff case and one of them was ankle sized cuff, reason being last thing u need is to go hands on (officer involved fight) and try to slap on the cuff and it wont close because the wrist r to big. Also chk ur cuffs each shift some peeps like to joke and will double lock ur cuffs.

    About to go to an interview with a police department this week to try and get hired on. Do they issue you most of the standard equipment or are you responsible for buying most of it?

    • @Compliant89
      @Compliant89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the department. I’m an Officer in CA and have been with two depts. and had two different experiences.
      The first was a huge major city agency that issued all duty equipments such as everything in the belt & full class A, class B (2 pants, 2 short sleeve, & 2 long sleeve), inclement weather uniform (BDU style) & rain gear.
      The current agency I’m with only issued the equipment on the duty belt, soft armor, & patrol bag. Class A, Class B uniforms, rain gear, & load bearing vest came out of my own pocket with the caveat that over a course of a year you get a uniform allowance.
      Pretty much each agency has you purchase your own boots. My academy was an in house for the first agency and they provided the Class A boots which I still use today at the new agency.

    I got an email the other day telling me I was accepting to take the police entry level exam at a department here in CT where I live. Can you just answer this question honestly? Is the test hard. I've tried to take practice test online but there's like no test you can take for free besides 1 that has 20 question. I passed that but I know that test isnt what the actual thing going to be like. My test is on Tuesday on the 16th and I'm freaking out cause I literally had a 5 day notice and I've been trying to prepare for it

      @@rjthekidgaming2024 Florida is a bigger state so u have more departments to choose from or apply to. I applied to a department in Hartford CT which is the Capitol of Connecticut and which is also one of the most dangerous cities u could be in. I had my test like i said on the 16th. I actually finished the actual test itself but I didnt finish like 20 of the question on the end of the test which are just basically opinionated questions. I feel I didnt do so good on the math. Idk when our results come in the mail but I feel like i failed, if I didnt fail I, then I barely passed. I have another test on the 25 coming up at another department so I hope I do better with this one.

    Good video brother but that whole nothing in your dominant hand is bullshit. That’s continued tradition and it’s not true along touching the back of the tailight. Check out Mike Levi aka knockoutlights on youtube and instagram. It’s a training issue and it’s not that hard to drop a coffee cup to grab your weapon. Also, in most situations, you will have 2 hands on the weapon so wether the coffee cup is in my left or right hand I have to drop it regardless. The tail light touching is dumb because even if you check to secure the trunk there is an emergency release latch inside. Also, to say it’s to put you on the scene is dumb af because that’s why you call in the LOCAL over the radio and your CAD is gps tracked. If it rains the prints are gone. Just a few tips I picked up from some older swat guys. Very good video just passing on a couple things.
