You optimized dreckos' movement inside the farm, nice! 9 out of 10 designs forget about it, and while it is not longer that big of an issue ever since Klei introduced critter queuing, you can't really have a perfect ranch unless you over-engineer EVERYTHING! :)
You sir, are a hero for providing an overlay section of your tutorial. I have liked and subscribed and am looking forward to more of your quality tutorials. Thank you a great video!
I'm really glad I ran across this video. I will be looking through all of your videos soon because I don't understand engineering or any of that stuff. And you explain it in terms that I can understand, so thank you
@engineertroy_ Although I may have missed it but I'm not sure I heard you explain how to use the conveyor receptacle. So, like, it's there. I have it. I just don't really know what to do with it, and Google is no help, LOL.
i find evolution chambers inefficient for dreckos as instead of drowning you could shear them a few times before dying of starvation for free plastic/reed fibre. so i just throw all the eggs in a room with a few shearing stations. lag has to be considered when doing this setup i usually go with 3 full ranches, 2 with balm lilys and 1 with mealwood because plastic is less useful late game and a glossy drecko can be sheared twice as much as a regular one. Also to keep mealwoods cool a thermo regulator can be used and dump all the heat where the starving dreckos are, this way all their body mass can eat the small amount of heat remove great video nontheless
May i suggest to drop surplus eggs in a room completely filled with hydrogen and a shearing station. instead of the " Evolution " death chamber. I also add a critter drop in the corner behind an open door this allows more critters to be dropped into this chamber by dupes from the incubator. Critters can walk out of the drop point and into the shear. By doing this you can get an extra two shears ( one shear when they become an adult and another before they starve to death) then collect the meat.
So while i dont have the receptacle is ot best to just let the duplicants bring in phosphorite and dirt manually, stop the loaders from receicing these materials, or create some sort of setup with the weoght pressure plate?
This design is probably one of the best designs I have seen in the internet, though I am confused about the wheezewort gas-siphoning effect on gas pressure for plants, has anyone ran into this issue or am I overthinking this?
@@engineertroy_ It's a thing. The Wheezewort constantly drains the gas surrounding them (1000g/s), which is most likely Oxygen since they are next to the Mealwood. I put in an Gas-pressure sensor and automated a few gaspipes/filters into letting in 50/50 of Oxygen and Natural gas once that occurs.
Hello there! Really sweet design, I’ll try to add it to my base. I’ll try to implement your incubator setup and your population management of the drecko farm to my hatch farm. Do you think it would work?
There's something I've been wondering. Why does everyone use mealwood plants instead of bristle blossoms for glossy drekco ranches when they can eat both? It feels like bristle blossoms require less dupe labour since you can just pump water in with hydroponic tiles and ceiling light or 2 is all the light needed for them. From what I've been reading dirt is plentiful early on but it's a pain to make renewable without a lot of pips whereas water can be renewable with just a geyser.
Good question. I really hadn’t considered it. What I did notice since the Frosty DLC dropped is that flox make dirt and eat pikeapples. Pikeapples need phosphorite. Dre los make phosphorite and can eat mealwood which need dirt. I did the math; one drecko farm and two flox farms are dirt and phosphorite positive!
@@engineertroy_ O thats interesting. I'm still a fairly new player but I bought the frosty DLC and rerolled an Oceania classic map with the 3 new biomes so I'll try that when I find the floxes.
Bristle blossom have more issues to deal with. They require water ( hard to have abundant quantities early on )and light ( Needs a dedicated power source) to grow which could impact the layout / size and cooling needs of the ranch. Its very possible in mid game, when you have a base cooling in place, but most players are looking for early plastic production from Glossy drecos which is easiest to do with mealwood in early game or a lucky drop (2%) if you cant feed a regular Dreco mealwood when starting in a hot biome and you only have Balm lilies to feed them. Mid to late game Bristle blossom production is better used for Berry sludge for Space travel and off base planet food needs.
@@dean4939 Thanks for the reply, I ended up using mealwood because I found floxes like what troy suggested and surprisingly, even outside of ceres they aren't that hard to ranch. I just converted normal dreckos to glossy using the critter o matic and built the ranch from there. My map seed incidentally has too much water actually, 4 cool steam vents, 1 steam vent, 2 cool slush geysers, 1 cool salt slush geyser and 1 salt water geyser..... and it's oceania so there's a massive amount of saltwater around as well. I'm not going to run out of water 🤣
is there any particular reason to use two shearing room instead of just one big shearing room? how about the critter limit of 10 other than pc performance?
This is a really cool design. Do you have a Discord server or something I can get a blueprint to you for my drecko ranch? I think there's a couple small things you may borrow, either way I think you'd think it interesting if not pointless given you already have a great drecko ranch haha
Чел, сделай лучше по другому, нужен капля нефти, и 4 клетки комнату вакум, и принеси балон водорода, не обязательно всю комнату с водорода заполнять, они зайдут подышать и уйдут
I love the fact the entire design fits in just 3 floors of a standard 4 tile high room layout.
Thanks!
I really enjoy that your designs have upgrades in mind. It’s just a minor thing, but the easy upgrade to a critter fountain is a nice touch
Thanks! The original vision didn't include the fountain until the base farm was complete. When I added it I had to rework the whole layout.

I love this design. The one I usually build is like this but with less automation. Great video!
Nice video dude. I hope you catch on.
Thanks!
Thanks for the overlays ❤
No problem 😊

I feed stone hatches igneous rock since there is generally several hundred tons of it toward the bottom of a Terran asteroid.
Amazing! Very well done. I've always searched for the best setup. Thank you from Brazil!
Thank you! Glad you like it!
nice video! love the detail and the fact that its upgradeable for late game
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your strategy! It's always interesting to see different approaches. It helps me refine my own!
Well this video just got you a new sub ;D
Very nicely done
Awesome, thank you!
Definitely gonna try this design in my next colony thank you 🙏

My pleasure!
i really wish the game had a blueprint system built into the game that we could share blueprints stamps on the workshop.
Thanks for another great video
You bet!

Not a bad idea. I was trying to automate as much as possible 😊
thanks, nice succinct design
You are most welcome! Thanks for the comment! 😊

Hi!

Yes, it should work.
What are the filters for the bottom left loader? (Edit: Oh, Eggs.)

What did you set the most top left conveyor loader to grab?
The loader in the top left incubator room is set to reed fiber, plastic, eggshell and meat.
2 weezleworts managed to do the job... had to shift things, and add another sweeper, but after 100 cycles, it's been fine
Nice! Thanks for the feedback. 😊

Nope, not really 😊
It was a Unique video ❤
Fantastic video
Thanks! 😃
You are the best❤
Thank you so much!❤
My plants got some pressure issues, do you know why? The pressure is below the minimal required.
You may need to put a bit more gas in there. 😉

No discord server yet. Sorry!
It's perfect
thanks so much omg
Sorry to complain but can you raise the audio a bit higher as its not very loud even with speakers on high
No worries!😉 Thanks for the feedback.
Hmm too complicated and didn't give much additional gain. Usually I will keep all the surplus into one room and no incubator.
Thanks for the feedback! 😊
Someone blueprint this so I don't have to 🤠
интересно.
MY 2000+ CYCLE riod might of found an improvement
Oh yeah? You’ll have to elucidate 😎
