Finally someone said it! For some textures, styling on damp hair works better than soaking wet. I have a rippled outer texture, thick strands loose and tight curls. Styling on damp hair gives me more definition and smoothes my hair down! Thank you for this video and your knowledge. Also your model has gorgeous hair!😍😍
You’re welcome! Yes! Essentially adding water dilutes your holding product. For rippled textures (whether fine or coarse strands) we want to smooth down the outer textures then clump the curls. Those with smooth and flat strands have the flexibility of not having to do this 2-part process. They can use foams, botanical gels, light gold gels, etc. we cannot. Thank you for watching!
Thank you ! I recently developed the perfect wash n go routine for my 4a curls by using less water. Years before my wash n gos were so puffy and stiff when I used gels on soaking wet hair. So glad I found that out. And funny you say “you don’t need creams as much, but usually in cooler weather”, because I found mousse and gels worked perfectly for me ! So happy you popped on my feed. Thanks!
Yasss finally someone who said it…. My hair HATES being wet or drenched when I do wash and goes. I can never relate to most TH-camrs who say your hair has to be soaking wet to get the best wash and goes like no that doesn’t apply to people like me. Can u do more videos on this topic ❤
Wow! Took me a year to get here, but this is a *major* game change!!! I have thin, fine 4B hair. I thought you *needed* cream before using gel. But I tried this and instantly changed the entire texture of my hair and the definition of my curls. It's quick, easy, not as messy and *it lasts* ! Thanks for sharing this simple secret!
You are so welcome. It’s taking me quite a while to put info out but I am updating my guide to include product brands. Please subscribe to the email! I’ll have announcements soon! Thank you for your feedback!
Yes! Shout out to stylist who understand different textures have different requirements. Hair is not one size fits all - if a stylist or your fav hair guru says it is, run- especially if they pushing their product on you.
The "adding/not adding water" thing is in relation to the types of gel you're using. Botanical gels like uncle funkys curly magic and ouidad stronger hold gel like water, a lot of water and if you don't use enough you won't have any definition also water is what actually moisutrizes the hair. Water and conditioner. If you condition well enough you do not need cream for the winter. I dropped oils and butters and stuck to shampoo, conditioner and one botanical gel (ouidad) and I haven't looked back since. My hair has also been growing like a weed. It's always been long but now its way longer, easier to detangle, shinier, and healthier not to mention softer. I wash my hair every 4-6 days
You are correct but this particular video is focused on her hair characteristics. Botanical gels (high humectant gels) are not strong hold and aren’t suited for her more rippled outer texture, and dehydrated state of hair. She wouldn’t have the results that you listed with those gels combined with a lot of water. The other videos stored in my camera (and a previous video with a more smooth and flat surface) would have flexibility (strong hold, botanical, foams..). I hope this helps you get more clarity on holding products.
Finally, makes since. I have the same ripple texture. Can’t wait to try this technique. Nothing has worked for me. Been natural since 2014. I had just accepted that I would not achieved a wash n go. And now my hair is gray, mostly in the front and now it’s even harder to get my gray hair to curl. Hopefully this time, using your technique, it will come out looking good. Thank you!
I know this has nothing to do with how u do ur wash and go and I’m still trying to learn but I have watched the Anthony Dickie’s technique so now I’m confused a bit but I am a 4C kinky texture. One thing I know is there has to be other great ways to do a wash and go. My natural hair draws up so tight but the goal is to get my curls to loosen and hang.
Well the first thing I try to navigate with those seeking my guidance is having realistic expectations. Second is to truly understand texture and that hair typing isn’t a thing? Is your hair coarse stranded or fine? Smooth and flat or more rippled? What about wave pattern? If you have a tighter texture it may never hang but having the right holding product will help with seeing the potential of your hair. I love Dickey’s method but know that it does require washing your hair often. I did it as a challenge and my hair was so much easier to work with every day. So, your curls will only “loosen” if you have coarse strands. Because coarse strands are so thick and heavy, they will hand from a curl to a wave. Fine strands will unfortunately always shrink.
Thank you so much. I have been natural since 2017 The struggle is real You name it, I buy it, lol I am old school dont like going to bed with wet hair. I need a good moisturizer shampoo and conditioner Some say spray with leave in and water. Some say dont use leave in just a conditioner.? I am a natural hair product junkie and it is costly. I really need the products that will work for my dry hair. Thanks for sharing the truth. The model is beautiful, and so is her hair. You are the best in explaining what we need to do to our natural hair.
Start with a clarifying shampoo then hydrating shampoo. Thats where moisture is born. Spend time with your shampoo. You don’t need a leave-in conditioner unless you are high porosity due to color, heat or mechanical damage, otherwise this will sit on top and cause more dehydration. Thank you for watching!!
Thank you so much. I have the same hair type and I’m about to try this right now. Just gel for summer and it does not need to be soaking wet. Thanks for the tips. Your hair is beautiful
It depends on the formulation. This gel is an all-in-one. Many need a lighter humectant gel-like styler underneath a hold. This one has alloe. Stay tuned for the product companion book coming shortly!
I’ve been natural since 2012 and I’ve just decided to regrow after rocking short cut for a couple years. Glad I came across your channel…. This channel should have so many more views. These tips make perfect sense! Thank you!
I appreciate you saying that. I’m glad that I can get the message out to those who are able to receive it! There’s more to come! Comments like these keep me going.
LaVida, thank you for this teaching! I have never learned this info. What you have taught us will save money. As a tightly coiled 4c with fine strands and dense fullness, I always felt that because my strands are fine, I was putting on too many products, but I didn't understand how to moisturize without so many products.
Ooh Nashville! I’d love to come. I just need 5 - 12 confirmed guests. Finding a shop is easy. I heard the food is really good! We can have a Curl-side chat get-together.
I have the same hair type thank u for this video just gel for the summertime huh 🤔 who would’ve ever thought it I was so use to using a leave in and then a styler then a gel no wonder my hair was confused on what I was trying to do 😂
It also depends on the formulation of the holding product. If the holding product is extremely drying, containing like many brands on the market, an alcohol that is intended to pull moisture from the hair (for a quicker dry and rapid hold) I’d recommend a moisture buffering gelatinous humectant gel under a holding gel in this case. This would be used in the warmer and more humid months. I’d recommend a cream in the more dry and cooler months. I have a video on cream application.
You’re welcome. You’ve for this! Know your hair characteristics and you will be empowered to choose styles and products for efficiency and longevity. The digital download will explain hair characteristics.
hello i’m so glad i stumbled upon your channel. please let me know if you’re willing to visit st. louis or kansas city mo. i would LOVE to get my hair done by you!!❤
I will try this method. I'm new to wash & gos and you are right with a lot of water I got a fro. I'm still trying to master this, so I'm excited to try this method. I'd rather have the firm curls than the fro. Fingers crossed!
You can do it! Most unsuccessful styling comes from the lack of patience first, then having too much water followed by too large of sections, and lastly not utilizing tools. Remember those things and you won’t fail! Let me know how you did! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t! I need 500 to post to community tabs to make announcements!
@@LavidaLovesCoils Hello again, I washed my hair on day 6. I will add that I worked out 4 of the 6 days and I only washed it because my scalp will start to itch soon after if I don't. I could've gotten a couple more days out of it.
I don’t know about the No creams. I use creams in place of gel for my wash n gos and my hair responds better to creams then gel. I do clarify my hair once a month to get rid of any product buildup
Those with a flat and smooth outer texture and more coarse (thicker) strands can make it work. Tighter curls with a more rippled surface and finer strands will not get favorable results. We will have an afro with a "cream only" application. When I talk about "no cream" and "use less water" I'm referring to those specific hair characteristics.
@@LavidaLovesCoils I have 4a/4b coils. (My profile pic is a twist out but I do wash n gos too with creams) High density fine strands and creams work just fine on my hair. Maybe u mean it doesn’t work on 4b/4c hair because my coils are pretty tight and it has more of a cottony texture. Definitely not smooth or flat. My hair just doesn’t seem to need as much of a hold as someother peoples do. Most gels make my hair too crunchy. Might hair seems to like light and or medium hold products. I guess everyone’s hair is different. I just didn’t like that u said you shouldn’t use creams because some people may need or prefer a cream to a gel. Gel wash n gos made me hate wash n go’s at first because I always associated them with crunchy hair.
I work on science-based application and formulation. Wave pattern will affect application but outer texture, strand thickness, and current condition of the hair has more bearing on the product selection and styling goals. Creams contain more emollients (which lubricate, aid with pliability and softness). Dependent on porosity, dew point and overall temperature they may not be necessary. I don't believe I said "you shouldn't use creams". They shouldn't be used in more humid temperatures (based on the collective styling goal... longevity of a WNG). You are also color-treated (bleached) so you are more porous and more prone to dehydration. Those emollients will fill the cuticle. I also wouldn't use a strong-hold gel on your hair because it will break. A light - medium hold, or a more botanical gel would suffice.. not a cream. This video is not applicable to your hair.
@@LavidaLovesCoils ah that makes since. Thanks for explaining it to me 💙 I’ll definitely look into trying some botanical gels. Which ones would u recommend?
I'm working on a thorough Product Companion Guide but Bee Girl by The Doux is one that may work. There's a sweet spot (water / product ratio) so you need to play around with it.
Come through with it girl! Love it. I would love to have listened to the parts that got cut out. I always wondered why my wngl (wash n go laters) wouldn't take with soaked hair. Jus happened to bump into this video. I refreshed a few curls during my last wngl which lasted 2 weeks n did it on damp hair, it looked great. Please do this video again I need to kno how long it took to style and how she dried ur hair.
I was just about to give up on the wash n go until your video which: WOW, ok! Curls great, defined everything. thank you for the information. I wondered if you could answer one question, why does my wash n go only last a day before it's dry and flaky? I wear a satin scarf. It rejuvenates with water, but I have to do the process over each day.
Thank you for watching! The current condition of your hair, the product and how you’re styling could all be the reason why you’re cast is breaking and causing flakiness. Also, when you are adding product or water.. anything other than heat to make it malleable to reshape in the am, you are compromising the longevity and the style as a whole. First, replace your blow dryer with heat instead of product and/or water. Join the email list! I’ll be sending out more tips!
My hair looks so flat when styled soak and wet, but at the same time I am regrowing out my hair in certain areas that have thinned out but my hair look like a flat jerry curl !!!!!!!!
If you a finishing with a detangling brush (denman, tangle teaser or another popular brush), yes it will be flat. You have to ALWAYS finish with your fingers. Your tools (detangling brush and comb) detangle, distribute and smooth only.
My hair literally just fell out n now it’s so short.. am I able to do this or any suggestions on how to grow it back.. I was thinking about locking it up to grow it.. I am so glad I finally found someone who knows how to do our hair.. Godsend..🙏🏽😀
Thank you for watching. I highly recommend conferring with your primary physician, a dermatologist that specializes in hair loss and a healthy haircare cosmetologist. I’d do these before loving which won’t alleviate the issue. It may cause tension and excess dehydration.
This is the best video i have seen on wash and gos. The results are beautiful! There are so many gems that you dropped here. I have a similar texture to this young lady's, what gel did you use or recommend?

This makes sense because I've used uncle funky and my hair was always mushy. I preferred gels like eco styler before my hair detox, but I was told that it was bad for my hair (didn't allow proper moisture and hydration). If I'm clarifying properly, can I use more hardening gels? My stylist put me on uncle funky, innersense create hold, and trepadora papaya slip but I only get 2-3 days of hold. For hair characteristics, I have fine strands, medium density, and a mix of coarse and silky surface texture.
Anything prior to styling, adds moisture to hair!! I'm about to put a pause on uncle funky and only use 1-2 stylers with less humectants. I hate the mushy feeling from humectant gels
You might need a protein treatment and I’m not sure where you live but there are far too many humectant-based stylers in your routine. Why Curly Magic and Papaya slip? I create hold is a strong hold for fine strands with a smooth and flat outer textured surface but not for coarse and/or rippled textured.
Ok friends I tried this last night, and it really looked promising, but this morning, nope, I think that I used to much gel. I’m going to try this again tonight, wish me luck. Oh, my hair was gummy, and a nice Afro, lol.
If it’s gummy or tacky you have far too much product. If your hair isn’t hydrated this can also contribute to it not defining. You need to break your sections down and use tools. I will be having a Live Soon.
technique is something else. there are tons and no one way is the only way. Her definition looks great and her hair looks juicy and full. Today, i performed a wash n go on a client starting with a soaking wet base. I used a water based, mucilage humectant as a leave in (I chose Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic). The soaking wet hair brings out definition and ads moisture. The mucilage locks the water in the strand. Finally, the gel locks the definition in place. Now, before I was a stylist, good ole eco styler on damp hair worked well too. Unfortunately, the formula is too drying because of the high alcohol content🤷🏽♀.
Yes, you are correct. That technique and product combination will work on those with a smooth and flat outer surface. Most tight curls, whether they have a fine strands or more coarse in thickness, have more of a rippled outer texture and unfortunately, leaving the hair soaking wet will only yield a very short-lived style and/or an Afro with little to no definition. Essentially (which I mention in a lot of my videos) the holding product is being diluted. A humectant-based gel is absorbing moisture, encouraging shrinkage and a broken cast. I don’t use eco. Not only is it drying, the water content is too high. The price point is where it is for a reason.
There is no refreshing. I believe I made mention of this at the end of the video and I speak about maintenance. The tips are the same. This was done the end of summer. Your product combination matters.
My hair loves water, but I have noticed that when I dry my hair hair it goes to the front first and then the back, I would wrap the fiber towel around my head and squeeze the rest of the water out
Wow 😮 there’s just so much out here about how to do a wet and go style and it’s really confusing if u have NEVER did a wash and go style cause Anthony Dickie says it should be soaking wet but that seems too much.
Everyone’s methods to get from point A to point B is different, however, how you make it to point C (longevity) and back again (point A) cannot be disputed. Science is science. Cream-based stylers used the way that many people are instructed to use them yield the same result… temporary hold and style on SOME hair structures, but zero hold on most “4-type hair”. I am one of the few voices for fine-stranded, rippled-outer surfaced, tight curls.. most of these popular methods do not work for longevity. Dickey is THE Moisture King. An OG that pushes frequent washes. That is solid advice across the board. I once did a Dickey challenge and washes my hair everyday. I loved the results and I think many of us would benefit from doing this.
what did you do to detox her hair to remove the build up and what products did you use to style it?? i absolutely love the results and I am on my own hair care journey so your information would really help and be appreciated 🙌🏾💗
I wrote a guide to help people that are on your same journey! Here's the direct link. coiled-salon.ck.page/products/healthy-hydrated-your-condensed-textured-ha
Hi this was a great video. Thank you for the tips. Any recommendations on products for type 4a-c, low porosity, medium density hair for wash day cleanse to WNG styling.
Yes. Clarifying shampoo, hydrating cleanser, a quality water-soluble conditioner, a cream (depending on the time of year/humidity/dew point/temp and a gel. Please download a copy of Healthy + Hydrated: Your Condensed Textured Haircare Guide She is all of the things you mentioned except for the low porosity. Low porosity can also be caused by build-up. I go over this in the guide. The link to the guide is in the About section.
When you were discussing styling on damp instead of soaking wet, you said that is important for people like your client who have rippled surface texture. Are you talking about the surface texture of the strand or the curl pattern?
Yes. It was a long video but I mentioned the outer texture a few times in the video. She’s more rippled so there’s a two part process to styling and maintaining curls. Smooth outer texture then clump.
Where is your salon. I'm in the DC metro area and I would love a stylist that is knowledgeable about tight coiled hair like mine. Thank you for the content!
So... What if we're using a botanical gel that says to use on wet or sometimes even say on soaking wet hair, would you still suggest to only apply it on damp hair?
I don’t recommend botanical gels on most hair types. They have humectants that keep the hair wet all day and don’t contribute to hold/longevity. Those with a smooth and flat outer texture along with a looser wave pattern has the flexibility to use these products. Most tighter curls and those with coarse strand thickness will not be able to successfully use these. As far as directions. Many of the companies are parroting what is said by other companies but not considering all of their consumers. Tight curls have always been left out of conversation.
What do you mean by she has a rippled texture? Like a zig-zag curl? Also, doesnt styling on damp hair cause the gel to get too sticky and to clump up once dry?
Thank you for asking. Her hair still contains water but just enough to activate the product to encourage slip but not dilution of the product. Her outer texture , how the surface of the hair feels is more rippled like a terrain and not smooth and flat like a glass surface or ice. Does that make sense to put it into perspective?
When I do my hair soaking wet, I don't get a lot of definition. When I applied my gels to damp hair, my 4c hair is soooo defined, but I do get more flakes (I might have used too much product).
I explain in more detail in my handbook. It is currently being updated along with a companion product guide. coiled-salon.ck.page/products/healthy-hydrated-your-condensed-textured-ha
Thank you so much for this video... Can you show us a video on how to moisturize our hair? I've been hearing that we're not supposed to moisturize our hair using a cream moisturizer, to just use leave in and it's also not supposed to be done on wet hair... I'm just confused at this point.
Your foundation (cleanse and conditioning) is how you moisturize your hair. It isn’t necessary to constantly rehydrate the hair throughout the week. Leave-in conditioners aren’t necessary unless you have high porosity hair due to heat damage, color damage or mechanical damage. I touch on this in the interactive/fillable guide. You ALWAYS should apply product on wet or damp hair. The cuticle will absorb the product and heat will seal your product. I mention leave-in conditioners, creams and why we don’t refresh in the video.
I don't recommend the bonnet dryer. They are ok for conditioning the hair but they aren't efficient for drying the hair. There are far too many cons vs pros. I go over this in the Healthy and Hydrated Guide. I am editing the 3rd edition that will include the Product Companion Guide and a bonus! It should be out the end of the month! I can't wait to share it. You can sign up to be notified here. coiled-salon.ck.page/4cc111cd7d
I wonder what to do for someone (me specifically Lol), who is physically active and need to wash my scalp at least twice a week. This would be a lot for a wash n go, right?
It depends. I gave quite a few clients that work out and wear WNG’s. One in particular comes to me biweekly and her fair lasts for two weeks. As far as washing twice a week, it can be done. Considering your hair characteristics would be the first step.
Hello, great video! Question, please. My hair is 4abc, super coily, fine with medium density. I prefer a fluffy wng. To have the appearance of more volume. I use Camille rose on soaking wet hair. When using a firmer gel such as mane choice I get a set and firmer wng but less volume, which I do not prefer. What do you suggest? I like volume but my wgn doesn't a week.
Wave pattern, hair typing and overall density don’t really give the full story. Hair typing sets us up for failure. One can be more coiled in a circle when the hair is shorter or in a more humid area and dependent on product but as it grows out, because of the strand thickness. It can appear more elongated and zig-zagged. So the main things to remember about hair characteristics are your strand thickness AND outer texture. Is is more rippled on the surface or more smooth and flat. You have more product and outcome flexibility with a smooth and flat outer texture. I can tell you that mane choice has far to many fillers and oils, while Camille rose curl maker is a botanical gel that attracts moisture from the hair. Then pectin, marshmallow root and glycerin are humectants and have little to no hold depending on your hair characteristics and texture. Sign up for the mailing list on my website to download a preview copy of Healthy + Hydrated: Your Condensed Textured Haircare Guide. The link is listed. Don’t forget to confirm your subscription. I’ll also be uploading more content dicing info this topic.
I would suggest using your camille rose gel as a base and then layering a small amount of the mane choice on top of each section, that way you get the hold and the fluff- I actually do this on my hair (Ive got a video on this) and it works really well and lasts all week :)
@@kadadoeshair that won’t work on tight curls, fine strands and a rippled outer texture. It’s either an Afro or curls. Many “4 type” naturals cannot do both. Hair typing doesn’t explain the entire hair story or hair characteristics. Camille rose has too many fillers (I started out with curl maker when I wasn’t as knowledgeable as a Texture Artist) and Mane choice has far too many emollients. I’d recommend you clarify more often and change both lines and you’ll see more curl consistently through your strands. You have more curl definition because you are more porous on the ends and water easily penetrates.
I agree about the clarifying for sure we don't do enough of that and it changes results massively when we don’t have buildup on the hair My gel base of choice is actually 99% aloe vera gel then a dime size of mane choice per hair quarter to add extra hold- I suggested she use Camille as she has that in her stash already and didn't want her to waste it :) Either way its worth playing around with what you have- I suppose thats the beauty of our hair as its so specific to the individual :)
@Kada Does Hair for the health of her hair and the end goal, I recommend that combination not be used just for the sake of using it up. The formulation of Curlmaker alone will cause build-up given the high content of coconut oil and castor oil. A gel shouldn’t have oil in the formulation. A 99% aloe based gel is a humectant has very little hold and will not extend the wear of her styling. Thank you for your input. My goal of using this platform as a Texture Expert of a very diverse spectrum of textures from coils, curls and waves with many years of extensive research, trial and error and experience is to get the correct information into the world through science and specific hair characteristics. It is not necessarily individual-based while most texture hair wearers have the same combination of challenges; dehydrated hair, frizzy ends, puffy tight roots, hair style uncertainty, and a constant need to focus on their hair throughout the week. These are the things that I hope to convey easily by using this platform.
Gels are created to hold hair so no moisturizing properties are needed. Gels shouldn’t contain emollients but sometimes they contain humectants (aloe, pectin, marshmallow root, flaxseed) which helps to move product around a bit. They aren’t necessary with the right foundation. Botanical gels work best with fine - medium strand thickness with a flat and smooth outer texture. Not this hair character displayed in the video.
Very loaded question. I will have a video on this soon. Typing only tells part of the story at different stages of growth and hair health. It can look “4b” or “4C” when it’s dehydrated but “4a” when hydrated and 3c when the right product is applied. This is general for anyone. Typing isn’t definitive. The strand thickness and outer texture matter most. She’s fine - medium strands with a rippled outer texture. I break those things down in the guide and I will do a deep dive in the upcoming book. If you subscribe to the mailing list and confirm, you can download a preview copy of Healthy + Hydrated:Your Condensed Textured Haircare Guide
That seems like a lot of product. I can’t image be both being necessary. I know mielle won’t give you longevity but I’m not familiar with Aunt Jackie’s.
What is it about glycerin that your hair doesn’t like? 70% of my tight curl clients use a gel that contains glycerin. The product formulation matters and your foundation determines outcome.
It can! You need a heavy holding product. I offer virtual consultations. My information is in my bio. You’ll see several gray WNG’s on my Instagram as well. @LavidaBarkley
I would have objected to her cutting to shape it after the blow drier. My hair would have continued to shrink and those ships would have left it very uneven
She wouldn’t have objected. People sit in the chairs of my salon because they trust me to educate them and deliver results, beyond what their expectations are. She loved her hair and had been back several times following this visit. She’s now several states away but she still carries the knowledge and know-how confidently in her continued haircare journey. Her hair also was more elongated because of my technique, application, and maintenance.
Eco is full of water and fillers. It’s not heavy enough. Eco is on the top of the list as a go-to because there isn’t anything to compare it to. I will have a product guide out soon.

The most beautiful wash-n-go I have seen on kinky hair!!!
Thank you for watching! It will last 7+ days. ❤️
Yes it is true!!
Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@LavidaLovesCoils so she couldn’t use botanical gels at all?
That is the prettiest wash and go I have seen on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Many thanks to this awesome information about my 4C wash and go 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Ohhh my gosh! I love it. I would have never thought that hair like mine could look like this! Impressive
Thank you for watching!!
I have been natural since 2017
The struggle is real
You name it, I buy it, lol
I am old school dont like going to bed with wet hair.
I need a good moisturizer shampoo and conditioner
Some say spray with leave in and water. Some say dont use leave in just a conditioner.? I am a natural hair product junkie and it is costly. I really need the products that will work for my dry hair.
Thanks for sharing the truth. The model is beautiful, and so is her hair.
You are the best in
explaining what we need to do to our natural hair.
Her hair turned out really nice 👍🏾
Her hair turned out beautifully!🌹
Thank you! 😊
This is such a cute wash and go! Thanks for the tips!
You are so welcome!
Those curls are beautiful!
Thank you!
You're so welcome! I'm happy that I could help! ❤️
Looks like I need to binge watch your videos to learn how to take care of my hair.
I am happy I found you.😊
Yay! Thank you!
her hair is gorgeous! 😍😍
Her hair is so beautiful, you do great work
Thank you so much 🤗
Awesome video thanks for sharing I have the same problem I was going back to the cream crack girl 😂😂😂 I will be trying this soon ❤
Wow the best video I have seen on this! I am doing a wash and go tomorrow I’m so excited, thank yuh for sharing ❤
How'd it go?!
Awesome❤
I wish my hair could do this. Maybe going to a real natural hair stylist is my best bet. Wish you were in the Nashville area
Beautiful wash-n-go. I could see the build up on the original hair.
Great wash n go. I don't do them but this is my favourite one.
Great video!!!! My hair likes to be styled on damp hair as well!!!
i need to let go of the chuckles of oil and leave in conditioner. i have been released from shea butter and hair grease.
You've got this!
I'm trying to master my wash and goes. Thanks for the information!

I’d love to! I just need 10-15 ppl and I’m there! I can send out an interest email. 🤔
I would LOVE to have you style my hair you did such a great job with her wash and go 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 first time viewer and I am impressed!!
Thank you for watching. ❤
It’s beautiful love the out come
I’m a too lazy 4C natural to do this myself because I do my own hair 😩! But absolutely beautiful results!☺️💜
You absolutely can do this.
@@LavidaLovesCoils This method worked great! Thank you so much! My curls are so defined and no frizz!
@@tsimpson4766 ok?! Let us know how many days you get out of your WNG!
@@LavidaLovesCoils Hello again, I washed my hair on day 6. I will add that I worked out 4 of the 6 days and I only washed it because my scalp will start to itch soon after if I don't. I could've gotten a couple more days out of it.
6 days is great. Most people unaware of what really works only get 1-2 days, wet or cowash their hair everyday and are unable to maintain any styling.
wow i need that hair clip for my pony tail!
Yes the PuffCuff is amazing. It’s linked in my Amazon store in my About section.
Best i have seen for 4c hair thank you definately trying this
You’re so welcome!
Left a video for you! I hope that answered your question!
Omgggg finally my texture 🎉🎉
I love this. Beautiful
Thank you!
Nice! Thank you for the tips
Your hair came out so pretty ❤
curls looks great
Thank you!!
That's alot of hair! I need a routine for my wash n go's that is fragrance free.
It’s so difficult to find but it’s possible depending on your hair characteristics.
Beautiful job. Well done!
Beautiful!
It took me cutting my hair off and restart to realize I didn’t need al the stuff I did before
We are doing a lot without getting anywhere. We have to give ourselves a complete reset!

I saw this after I responded. Yes correct! How’s it going?
Thanks for sharing. Very educational ... I needed this!!!!!!
You’re so welcome! Thank you for watching and chiming in!
This is a beautiful outcome!!!

Great tips
Now if you live on a warm dry humid island are this tips the same
What about refreshing the coils the next day what to used
There is no refreshing. I believe I made mention of this at the end of the video and I speak about maintenance. The tips are the same. This was done the end of summer. Your product combination matters.
My hair loves water, but I have noticed that when I dry my hair hair it goes to the front first and then the back, I would wrap the fiber towel around my head and squeeze the rest of the water out
🤔Hmm. It depends on your styling, Hair characteristics (not hair type), current condition, styling goal, and overall climate conditions.
Where are you ? I need your services🥰🥰🥰
I am in NY, near Albany but I travel for groups of 7+ depending on location.

She is all of the things you mentioned except for the low porosity.
@@LavidaLovesCoils Thanks for clarifying.

Your product formulation and combination matters. There’s something missing or too much of something on your hair or in the ingredients.
My hair hates water I have very kinky hair
Your hair LOVES water in tandem with the right products, execution and time that you need to spend with it. Hair is a plant.
You referred to a “rippled outer texture”. What does that mean? (Yes I googled it on my own, but I didn’t find anything in reference to hair).
Do you recommend using a hair dryer bonnet as an alternative to a dome?
I don't recommend the bonnet dryer. They are ok for conditioning the hair but they aren't efficient for drying the hair. There are far too many cons vs pros.
I go over this in the Healthy and Hydrated Guide. I am editing the 3rd edition that will include the Product Companion Guide and a bonus! It should be out the end of the month! I can't wait to share it. You can sign up to be notified here. coiled-salon.ck.page/4cc111cd7d

Hi love the video where can we buy that hair clip from she used on back of your hair?
My salon store is linked in my bio. Every consumer product can be purchased on my online store.
I agree about the clarifying for sure we don't do enough of that and it changes results massively when we don’t have buildup on the hair
My gel base of choice is actually 99% aloe vera gel then a dime size of mane choice per hair quarter to add extra hold- I suggested she use Camille as she has that in her stash already and didn't want her to waste it :)
Either way its worth playing around with what you have- I suppose thats the beauty of our hair as its so specific to the individual :)
These are the things that I hope to convey easily by using this platform.
so thankful for this. so when going in with a gel, does the gel has to be a styling or moisturizing gel?
Gels are created to hold hair so no moisturizing properties are needed. Gels shouldn’t contain emollients but sometimes they contain humectants (aloe, pectin, marshmallow root, flaxseed) which helps to move product around a bit. They aren’t necessary with the right foundation. Botanical gels work best with fine - medium strand thickness with a flat and smooth outer texture. Not this hair character displayed in the video.
Hello 👋🏾 where are you located? 😃
I’m in upstate NY.
Her curl pattern is beautiful. 4c?
Can I use both aunt Jackie's don't shrink and mielle honey ginger styling gel for this?
That seems like a lot of product. I can’t image be both being necessary. I know mielle won’t give you longevity but I’m not familiar with Aunt Jackie’s.
@@LavidaLovesCoils Oh, then which one do you recommend please? Or maybe just a mousse and gel combo
What gel was used? My hair doesn’t like glycerin.
What is it about glycerin that your hair doesn’t like? 70% of my tight curl clients use a gel that contains glycerin. The product formulation matters and your foundation determines outcome.
I wish my grey natural hair could hold a wash and go. I am so frustrated 😠
It can! You need a heavy holding product. I offer virtual consultations. My information is in my bio. You’ll see several gray WNG’s on my Instagram as well. @LavidaBarkley
You’re in the northeast? Where?
I am. I'm in New York in Schenectady. 15 - 20 minutes away from the Albany Int'l Airport
Beautiful❤
Thank you! 😊
so i shouldnt use eco gel on my 4c hair to try this?
Eco is full of water and fillers. It’s not heavy enough. Eco is on the top of the list as a go-to because there isn’t anything to compare it to. I will have a product guide out soon.
