    When training Amateur Radio operators and other Emergency Services, I've always used the "addressing an envelope" method when making a call. To on the front of the envelope, from on the back. Gets the brain thinking in the right format.

      Yes agreed, it’s getting that brain into the right gear. It all comes together eventually, I always live by the motto practice practice practice.

    Congratulations on producing what is probably the most informative and easy to listen to/watch video on radio calls I have seen. Thank you

    Watched all your Jabiru / flying vids, they are all great, you are a natural presenter and I am amazed they don't have more likes. I hope you do more of them in the future 🙂

    You always have sounded clear, concise and professional on the radio mate....even in a challenger

    Video was informative, but the sound dropped out about half way through, not a problem I used the subtitles. 😃😃😃😃

    Loved video but do you really recommend UTC in calls? I dont think you used UTC in the example?

      Hi Gordon, glad you liked the video. Yes I do recommend UTC at the appropriate time ,I don’t think I did any ten mile inbound where I would use it in this video. By using it there can be no mistakes for other aircraft not sure about your ETA. I know some pilots use the ten minute / five minute calls but I’ve stuck with what I was taught back in the late eighties, in fact my instructor would mark me down if I didn’t check that the aircraft UTC clock was checked for accuracy during my preflight. I think if you get into the habit of using UTC from the get go you won’t even have to think twice about it if ever you’re flying into controlled areas where it is mandatory.
      It’s a while since I put this video up, I’ll have to check . 👍

    Great video! not sure what circuit means or refers to and also what's meant by downwind or upwind, may you please briefly explain? Thanks!

    • @standupmoto
      @standupmoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi William yes it all gets a bit confusing with so many names but basically the circuit is the pattern you fly at an airfield. Upwind / downwind etc are the legs you fly in that pattern, all put together it’s referred to as a circuit. If you watch my video flying circuits, it’s video no 42 it will explain more. cheers and thanks for watching.

      @@standupmoto Can you list the music you chose to play for the background? Sounds like good fly-alone music.
