Jeff I do much the same stuff. I built almost the exact same table and used a Red Oak stain on it and satin wipe on polyurethane. It looks great. Love you stuff buddy! One country boy to another

I've watched enough of Jeffs videos to know that that didn't take him very long to build. It looks like an expensive piece of furniture if you ask me. Beautiful job Jeff.

WOW! Beautiful table & bench set. Did you have that in mind before you started milling this wood or after you saw the beautiful grain? Looking at the end of the table top boards I noticed you have three up grains side by side and one down grain. Is that by design or just based on the grain pattern of the board face? I'm not a wood worker but after years of watching Norm Abrams from This Old House talk about alternating the end grain one up, one down to prevent cupping it kinda stood out. My guess would be that cupping isn't an issue based on the board thickness.

That leg piece that had the wood bees in will be weak. Especially if that many were inside that wood. They eat the wood out of it and hollow it out to put babies.
He is a super cool and a CRAZY handy dude. No doubt. He is a rougher tougher and he knows a good bit about everything...but he never replies. Sorry, not sorry, but that's a deal breaker to me.
