  • I repair two American Reliance SPS 26-62 power supplies in this video. These are from the Epower 1.6Kw series. Sold by Ametek and Amrel. These power supplies were bought as a lot off eBay. One had no output and no current control. The other was missing a power cord and needed some settings changed.

I still am not used to seeing you without beard. You look so much younger. I like the power supply videos because it reminds me i need to take apart my own.i have an old hp power supply thats mostly accurate but spikes voltage from time to time.

I hope you enjoyed the repair. If I had better cables around I would have busted out the Load I fixed in the last video to test it and got closer to 60 amps.

It says (for my Sorensen) "Heavy connecting cables must have some form of strain relief to avoid loosening the connections or bending the bus bars" - which I'm struggling to source/envisage.

@@armandine2 I don't know what the back of your power supply looks like but any cable gland or cable strain relief should work.
The point is you don't want the lug supporting all the weight. You could just zip tie your cables to a board if you really can't find anything that fits your just trying to take the pressure off the lug

@@FixedUntilBroken I see there is 80 strand 10mm^2 AWG 7 copper cable available - which I guess is fairly flexible

I started with car audio amplifier repair and then instrument cluster repair. Yes I now work at a power supply company.

I’m a victim of that LS Juan. Has had my cluster for 5 months and gives me bullcrap “I’m sending you a tracking” if he doesn’t ghost me sometimes. When I tried to video call him of course he says he doesn’t video call. I bought another 99-00 Cadillac cluster. Know anyone that can freshen it up for me with all cool blue LEDs, white face gauges and cool blue needles? Thanks! Be well sir.

hey I know this is a bit off topic but do you still recommend the 5mm or 3mm cube style LEDs for GM clusters or modules from SunLED? also what brand do you recommend for SMD LEDs?

I actually just use a smd LED with a resistor. I've never really recommended the cube LEDs they are over priced.
Kingbright and osram make good LEDs
