Mine does funny stuff when the elevation like that changes also it always wants to go down lower or higher I think it gets confused on the sea level issue however I've flown it off the top of a parking garage I was worried that it would pick up how far the ground actually was away once it came off and freak out but it did great
It’s not the best gyroscope and GPS. Then firmware that the drone flys on is just good but not the best. There are many good things though as a starter camera drone.
I keep looking at these reviews, and nodding my head, in the "I don't believe it..." way. Because you pro drone guys, simply seem to have very unrealistic expectations, in your evaluations of these lower cost drones.
No, we are sick of people getting ripped off. Many of us have flown hundreds of drones. I always say "TOY or PROSUMER"
@@DadRandom, I do understand the "ripped off" part. But still, I think you pros are sometimes "too close to the forest, to see the trees". Because I have seen many reviews now, and I do appreciate the effort it requires to get us this information. But honestly, you won't find many drones at this price point, that are any better than this one, even though I did choose to order its 3 axis next step up, 3 gimbal version.
And speaking of getting ripped off, to me, many of these big name, drones are way overpriced. So, by these standards, we are left with either feeling like we must spend 5 hundred dollars or more on a posh, overpriced, upscale drone, or getting nothing.

Hi Random, IMO the cable to connect to the display device is proprietary. It is not wired as an usb-c et al. cable. Fimi does the same thing with their drone cables.

Long enough.
This is not a big deal,there are few ways to fix that problem with the cable.The easiest one is to buy the original short cable set for $20 and cut in half the one that you need and simply add some cable from used data cable to extend it ,shrink tube it and that all.Very good drone by the way dont agree with videographer opinion.

There is an ISO adjustment which you did not use. The higher the iso number less light is needed to get prober exposure. You were at 100 which requires the most light and is for bright daylight outside Should have adjusted to ISO number
Can you recommend what type of tablets to use $90 - $200 range or what specs should we look for. I see that DJI recommends a 64bit systems with GPS. This specific info for the Atom is very hard to find. Can you tell us what tablet you are using for this video - Thank You!

No, I just use the one in the kit. It’s a bit short. Agree, it’s annoying
FYI you can force a hand launch quite easily. Just pull both sticks down and inwards. The motors start and you then push the left stick up until the drone hovers.
Does it come with a gimbal protector? I noticed you clipped one on after turning the drone off.

You know, an updated camera and a few other upgrades in the next edition of this drone and it could be a good alternative to DJI for a lot of people. Especially that live close to airports or other restricted airspace. Nice flight!

There are USB 2 and USB 3 OTG cables. I'm guessing the one in the box is USB 3, while the one you bought is only USB 2.

FYI again, those numbers that change on your screen are Beaufort scale wind ratings. The Potensic is rated up to 5.
I didn't buy the DJI mini 2 SE due to the national security concerns regarding the drones.. There's alot of data out there. I really wish I didn't care about that kind of stuff but I do. I know it's a much better camera drone, but I just can't justify the potential danger. Got myself the new ATOM. First time drone flyer and it flys so good. Video and pictures are good, but the dji looks way better, mainly due to that larger sensor I imagine. Pictures and videos definitely are not bad, but not as good as the dji. I bought the fly more bundle, and having 3 batteries with that multiple charger pack is a serious advantage. Can fly for almost an hour and a half.
Quick question tho. In order to export the 4k videos from thr ATOM. Do you have to hook up the SD card to your computer, or does downloading the videos from the app transfer the 4k high quality videos?
As I understand it if you download it from the drone to the phone it's 720p to get the full 4k it needs to be connected to a computer direct

@@Jimmycricket- guy working at Costco tonight actually told me about that national security risk, they may outlaw DJI something about what they use to track all info is sent back to China I think. I will be buying the new Atom 3.

I like it because no geo fence and you can go higher than 400 ft this could be my first drone.
I think there is a real upside to this drone. I think that you really can consider this (standard kit) in your choices. Replacement batteries and cost are really affordable.
Just because you Can dont mean you should.. all your logs are saved. They wait for people to break faa rules . And bring in the money.. dont be a victim

The drone will fly further if you do not use a dji microphone because of the frequency of the microphone. Try it out.
Technicaly that should not happen (no tech reason).

I have the SE version of this, its a decent drone even without the 3 axis, it is NOT a DJI competitor, it simply doesnt have the avionics that DJI has. This is a fun drone, not a photography drone.

All the reviews and tests I have seen have got far better results for the camera and video on this drone in relatively the same light and weather conditions. Have you got the camera set properly or possibly have interfearance from a nearby device? In all other reports I have seen the potensic atom compared very well to DJI mini se, DJI mini 2 and DJI I mini 3. You can't compare this drone to DJI mini 3 pro or DJI mini 4 pro as they are of a much higher price point.
I would not discourage you from buying what you feel is good. With drones, you get what you pay for. There is little more to say. I compare video results for products from channel to channel. Seems like all you keep doing is to trash the Potensic...very unprofessional and you keep adjusting the camera settings to make the video look too bright. You need to be honest ..it's a great drone ..I also have a DJI mini 3 and this atom is super....also you are in violation of FAA rules as you need to fly within Visual line of sight.
Report to FAA so they can watch the video and determine it. I’m sure he’s part 107 certified and should know.
There’s only the truth and my experience with over 5 years of flying 100’s of drones. The Atom is a good starter platform, but can’t compete with a Billion dollar corporation like DJI. It’s just the truth.
So clearly the DJI Fanboi in you has made it impossible to see other brands as viable competition.
Yet I have DJI Mini 4 and prefer the Atom personally.
The main reason is Geofencing.
Also half the issues you pointed out have been corrected with updates that came out after your video.
So I'd say now they are pretty much on par with each other.
Now if you mean the Mini 4 Pro? Yeah I agree they are world's apart. But so is there price.

Almost all of these drone cameras are essentially just action cameras so you cant expect decent images unless you're going up to something with a larger sensor like one of the DJI drones with an m43 sensor so wether you have an Atom or a Mini 4 Pro you're using an action camera sensor which will never perform great.
Color science and features with DJI cameras, usually are superior to companies with less experience and expertise
@@DadRandom That's the same with any company, but it's the sensor size which is most important. Consumer drones will usually use a 1/3" Sony sensor so regardless of whether you're using Potensic Atom or a DJI Mini, the quality is very minimal until you get to an m43 which is where you'll see much better quality in terms of resolution and dynamic range etc.

I don’t know why people are getting so upset over this drone and the test it’s not a bad drone . for a first drone , but as far as flight characteristics, camera and noise, there is no comparison to the DJI drones even the SE with a 2.7 K has better picture and video quality if they would stop comparing this to DJI. compared it to like the Holy stone drones . I have flown all of these drones, and it’s not just my opinion. it’s facts.
I’ve got a new video coming - showing Potensic to be a very capable. I’ve concluded the same things many have. The drone is really a good option.
People want to see a competitor to DJI at a really lower cost.

Why did you compare DJI 4 two different days with one over cast and one not. Of course they will look different. Fly it on a clear day like you did the 2 DJI s and I'm sure it will look 10 times better.

DJI send you nothing. Potensic is a good second platform with an improved flight system and slowly evolving camera system. They have very little R and D budget, so they have no chance at beating DJI. Potensic is good and improving. I’ve never slammed it. So…
I "retired" from flying FPV drones and am dipping my toes back into the videography-oriented offerings. It's tough to justify buying one of these Potensic's when it's at most $40-50 cheaper than a Mini 2 SE.
+slip0n0fall DJI SE is a better camera bird. I have owned almost every DJI drone. The ATOM is nice if you are learning to fly
The atom 3 axis is way better than DJI mini 2 SE. The picture/video quality of the Atom is way better. The atom has all the option like boomerang, Follow me, Rocket, Cyclone etc. Tye mini 2 doesn’t have those option.
@@AlbertaPinoyExplorer the wireless range is absolute trash on the ATOM and the video has flat dynamic range. I'd rather have the larger sensor (1/2.3") even at lower resolution on the mini 2 SE
The problem with DJI is they make you sideload a questionable app if you use Android. Not thanks. Google rejected their app for a reason and there is no excuse for DJI not to have an app in the play store. It's not like they don't have the resources. I don't think you can trust DJI because of that.
I agree the mini 2SE is a much more polished drone experience than this drone not only that after purchase, there is endless aftermarket upgrades, and accessories for DJI drones
