People who say that gw2 is dying don’t play the game. If you play it, you will see players everywhere on the map constantly, there’s almost always another player to do dynamic events and bosses with you in all of the maps.
Game seems alive and well after just jumping back in a couple of weeks ago. Players were in WoW, but they did NOT interact the way people do in GW2. It is refreshing.
Guild Wars 2 is an amazing game that seems to have more recurring players and new players joining and staying(maybe some people will use the game as a side piece) I think the problem GW2 did was not making each expansion based around killing each of the dragons. Six expansions right there with six regions to explore, SoTo is just warlords of dreanor, JW seems like it’s wrapping up titans and charr from Guild Wars 1. GW2 probably has two more expansions left before it ends. Living world content should be free to be honest. I think ultimately NCSoft is to blame realistically because their shitty Korean games still don’t pull half the profit of Guild Wars 2 but still leeches life from an American game. Looks like NCSoft need some “freedom”
@@SilhouetteGaming1 I couldn’t care about South Korea. Honestly? I just want arenanet to get away from NCSoft, at this point tencent would be better for arenanet. But the NCSoft rot already took root. GW3 will be good if arenanet get’s away. But I doubt GW3 is going to happen.
There are more-ons in every game screeching about how this game or that is dead. Not to say there's never dead games but these people are everywhere. They don't seem to realize just because THEY don't play the game anymore doesn't mean the game is dead. They can't comprehend that things still exist outside of their personal bubble.
Well there are some parts of story that are made for groups like Zaitan and Mordremoth slaying (i cant belive i spelled that names correctly 1st try...). But i was surprised to discover that there are still groups for those parts of story time to time...
Zhaitan isn't group-based anymore, hasn't been for a long time now. It acts like any other story instance now where you go in alone, or with party if you're grouped up beforehand. Arah no longer has a 'Story Mode' due to this and is only Explorable. And I never had a group to take down Mordremoth either in story, did that first try solo. The Mouth is an optional meta and not part of story.
@@groudonsbest That's interesting, I didn't know that Zhaitan fight used to be a group content. I only played it after it was made soloable and I thought it was completely ass. Maybe it's because of that - changing it from a story dungeon to a solo instance. Mordremoth fight was made for 1 player and was great but I haven't done the hard mode to this day.
I have kind of ambivalent relationship to GW2. I absolutely love lore, soundtrack, world, story and especially combat. On the other side, I do not know what to do when I hit 80. I have already three characters and the amount of options is overwhelming. Tons of currencies, tons of vendor etc. SO i usually quit after moth or two just because i do not know what to do in the game.
Don't know what to do? There is so much to do.... Get into fractals (you can earn alot of gold there daily, especially in the higher levels of fractals), get into raids, do spvp, do wvw, work on legendary's, work on achievements that give you skins etc. Then there are the seasonal events that come back, whole year round there are seasonal activities. Do i need to keep going? 😅
So funny to see people saying GW2 is dead as a player coming from games like Aion/Elsword/Nostale - they have like 100-1000 active players and still going.
Eyyy yoo Silhouette is fishing and doing WvW in the same video!!?? Lets gooo.. I know you just walked for 2 mins and noped out before even reaching garri wp xD The "Friendly Community" title with the pvp backdrop was a good touch, lol I want to add that gw2 is a game that has something to offer to everyone. Adventure, racing, pvp, instanced, open world, you name it and the game has some version of it.
@coffeedart_gw2 tbh fishing is super high value right now. Wvw is most boring game mode in my opinion. I set up my weeklies for sPVP and did it live this week, there were some good fights but I think i need to add some BGM to the stream or adjust game volume. It wasn't carrying over well. Overall it was fun, you can skim through the vod and see me get rekt lol
The people that say this is dead either don't play the game, are haters or are litterly brain dead. Towns are filled with people, people are active in pretty much every map, fractal and raid groups are always up etc....
I genuinely cannot understand how people can still think "gw2 is dead", despite it frequently featuring around the top of tier lists, and being like half as old as something like WoW, which is also still doing well
The only explanation for this is they either play in the extreme off hours or in all the places where the big events aren’t happening. Or they’re logging in for five minutes, not seeing anyone, and logging back out
@@Ky_Ky_Ky I had some burnout moments after 4+ years of playing almost daily but it doesn't mean the game is bad, it's more of a me issue. But right after buying the Bearlands expansion I started playing a lot more and I am still playing.
Dead? World of Warcraft is dead. GW2 is Valhalla for MMO nostalgic guys. It's the promised land if you want to be a big beard PVP badass warrior, a casual cozy farmer or cute fashion little princess, haha
It doesn't suck but it's not good. There are much better games to play for new players compared to veterans that have hundreds of hours and most of the quality of life improvements.
To be fair the "smaller expansions" are a VERY big indicator that the game is nearing its end cause ANet legit cannot make a full expansion anymore. And even the smaller expansions are constantly half-assed and weak.
Smaller expansions can be a sign of many decisions, but there is no universal law of dying development that makes 1+1=2 in this matter. I'm more than happy just chilling at my homestead for a few years after so much slaughter & go here, go there, do it again. But I can still commit weekly massacres as the itch returns. There are so many achievements many are already working on without the need for any new content for a couple of years. Not so great for the oldest completionist veterans perhaps, but for new players GW2 is already massive and deep. Compared to many MMOs, GW2 can afford to be a little bit lazier with new content. I've played for years and still have so much to do that I'll probably die before doing half.
I disagree. They made this decision because a lot of players were complaining about the lack of content between expansions. A huge expansion takes 3 or 4 years to release, so instead they decided to release small expansions every year to keep the content flowing more often, and i totally agree with their decision, the game feels more alive.
SoTO was less than ideal, anyone can agree with that, but it was the very first expansion under the new model. There were going to be kinks to work out with the new model, and they found the problems and addressed most of them. Janthir suffers a bit from pacing issues but most people agree it delivers a quality experience with significant improvements to old systems. Decorating in guild halls is much more customizable, warclaw is now the default mount for most people, and spear is one of the best weapons released to date
It should be illegal to make comments this wrong and stupid. The problem with the internet is that people like AzureRoxe get a platform to spread their stupidity as if it were fact
The one thing I feel is missing from content creators standpoint, is lack of deep dive min-maxing. Stats, traitlines, runes, sigils ....stat breakpoints, maximizing endurance regen, maxing Damage reduction while keeping decent damage, etc. For both PvE, PvP, etc This isn't targeted directly at you, I've noticed it's a masssive gaping hole missing
The creator has to be into that in order to make the video, and most just play for fun. The ironic solution to your comment is You. Whether you have the knowledge now, or blogging your journey to maximum min\max. You could be the channel that you're looking for.
Check out LordHizen if you want that sort of thing. But most people rely on the Snowcrow’s or Metabattle build site for minmax builds because they have proven track records. The problem is, most build videos just show top DPS against a stationary target dummy and not how it actually performs in open world against moving targets with mechanics
@Fractal379 your thoughts are a fair criticism. I have recently asked him in a stream, and others in general about details and information they are aware of. And I am pooling the information and starting to write stuff down. It's coming together for me and genuinely making a difference in my understanding and journey of number crunching. For example: although a lot of players aim and say 100% crit rate is best, outside of raids with 1HK mechanics, I think pooling statistics in other ways is more important as you can get more value.

started playing 3 weeks ago and it's a blast, there is people in all maps doing stuff, it's easy to get help on difficult events.
Account wide unlocks are so great. It’s so fun playing multiple characters and classes.
I’m just coming back to GW2 after almost a decade away and I’m finding it nearly as I left it.
Happy to see a video my man! Glad to hear you getting better! All the best for Christmas to you and the family❤
Same to you! Trying to get back on schedule. Hoping to grind the next few of them out for you guys. Merry Christmas brother!

I think this sentiment comes from people who play the game non stop and are burnt out and want a reason to quit playing
