This series is brilliant. It is rare we get to see history in the making and even rarer to have it so well documented. The production levels of this series are off the chart. This incredible young athlete is pushing herself to the absolute limit of her abilities and it is a wonder to behold. The absolute commitment it takes to push so hard is rarely seen or understood by the average person. Thanks once again to the production team for making this brilliant documentary series and letting us have a glimpse into the amazing life of a top level athlete and the amount of commitment it takes to be the best. Cheers.
@@mikaelashiffrin My pleasure. This series is really entertaining and it hits close to home for me. I was lucky and talented enough to be part of a elite sports program when I was young so I have some idea of what its like to push hard to achieve. I was also in the spot light for my 15 minuets of fame because of it, so parts of this story really hit home with me. I was also lucky enough to not have some of the added challenges of biology that Mikaela has to deal with that was mentioned so humorously in this episode. I am constantly amazed at the how much of your private life is shared with so many "strangers" I am glad I never had that pressure, yet you handle it with style and aplomb. Kudos to you and your awesome team not many can achieve such excellence and doing it with so much scrutiny is mind blowing for an old warhorse like me. Cheers.
I am a writer, a 70 yr old grandfather who wakes at 3 AM each day to write. MS is the only person on earth I'll interrupt my writing cycle for, be that at 4 AM (to watch a first run) or 7AM (second run) on any given day. Count me as a fan and someone who loves this TH-cam show too. Thanks to all involved! MS asks "what does all this mean?" Well, it means you reach out to people like me and make me proud to be human and inspire me to try a bit harder to do my best and above all to be kind. That is what your winning means.
This is a wonderful series to inform so many different audiences about ski racing, World Cup skiing, what the life of a racer is like, and to appreciate the woman doing all that racing. The 83 celebration was wonderful to see.
Hi Mikaela, you probably won't see this but I want you to know how much you inspire me. I'm 12 and I ski race and it's my dream to go to the Olympics. It's so inspiring watching you work hard to achieve your dreams. Congrats on 85 world cup wins.
I binged watched the entire series. Thank you to Mikaela for taking us along on the journey. It is really great to see the inside story to all of her success. I look forward to more in the future. Congratulations on a great season .
The way you're always positive no matter the outcome and always seem to be in a cheerful mood is amazing! Such an inspiration to so many and awesome you're showing your personality and the person behind the greatest skier ever! Good luck and keeping being you!
The casual observer of World Cup level skiing might think, what so hard about that. However, a look behind the scenes to see the volume of training, the team work, the technical ski tuning, the travel, the PR work, the emotion, all tell another story. This is more that medals and records, we're witness to super human effort with grace and humility.
Absolutely brilliant series. You are definitely the GOAT. Tying today with my all time hero Ingmar. Well done. keep being a great ambassador for skiing.
Once again an exceptional episode to bring the fan and the curious into some of your world. Take that, "Drive to Survive". That drone shot of the slalom training is an amazing view from a technical point of view - watching the upper body laser down the course while the lower body is elastic! You, Mik, and your approach to your sport and life are such an example and inspiration. Thanks for bringing your supporters and fans right along with you. Much appreciated. Kudos to Mike, Megan, Kilian and Dana for delivering such an engaging piece and your whole team (hey, Eileen!) for keeping it real and delivering what you need day in and day out.
I think this was the best episode yet. I love this series, so nice to get a little view of what goes on around the races, training sessions and such. And so much beautiful scenery - wonderful photography.
Wonderful video, Mikaela and congrats on an awesome World Cup Championship! You looked like you were having so much fun and that is what it’s all about. I LOVE the US Ski Team’s new climate awareness ski suits! ❤️🤍💙
All aboard...."The train don't stop!" That should be your motto. I love being able to see what happens behind the scenes. I could watch a whole hour of this. Thanks!
Hi Miki, beautiful episode all set in Italy. I was lucky to see you skiing this season at Kronplatz live, I swear it was exciting, your talent is incredible. Can't wait to see you again. A big hug from Italy !!🤙🤙
Awesome awesome channel. Looks like we get to see the behind the scenes of the greats skier EVER!!! Thank you. I know my wife will say to throw your hands in the air at the end of the race. But I get it. You're in the zone. That's why you win. Keep being you. Thank you for sharing. And Good luck with everything. From the first time I saw you race, it might have been the time you lost your shin guard. I said to my wife, this one is the one to watch. You are such an inspiration!!! Congratulations on now officially becoming the greatest ever.
Love seeing this side of ski racing - really brings all the hard work into perspective. And all that training, traveling, and taking time for fans while dealing with your cycle… that’s what I call beast mode!!! 🥰
I love watching your training and race days! Your schedule is so demanding and hectic! Do you manage to grab some sleep while travelling by plane or car? You do it All with a smile on your face! You definitely are the GOAT! Keep that train rolling! ❤♥️💜🇨🇦
I try to grab a nap whenever I can, honestly! In team hospitality before race runs, when traveling, and beyond! I love sleep. Thank you so much for the message and the support!
FANTASTIC series! And congrats on your unbelievable season, you're such an inspiration for me and for everyone passionate about skiing, not only for your results, but most importantly as a person
So happy for you Mikaela and for your beautiful victories here in Italy! Think that no one could not be astonished how you dancing throught the gates.. and see your slalom training from this point of view makes it even more gorgeus!
Cycle is not bicycle! :D Anyway, perfect thing to mention that ladies need to handle their cycle every single month. It is supernormal and we shouldnt forget about it because it must be so hard for you to race during these days .... and talking about races and results, in some days it really can be the "game-changer"... few days ago, me and my wife, we wondered how hard it must be for female soldiers, refugees, female athletes, female doctors and many other ladies druing these days, when they have no opportunity to stay at home and keep themself warm under blanket and relax, but they need to find some alternative ways....respect! Not only because you handle it, but also because you are not afraid to talk about it :) And again - stunning footages from the slope! Another great episode :)
☝️ 💯- gives a whole other appreciation for the technical aspect of skiing, seeing the shape and direction of the skis. Would love to see it incorporated into race coverage too 🤞

Love everything about this series, I hope you enjoyed your time here in Italy! Looking forward to see the next episode. Beast mode on for the last races of the season after a great world championship. Good luck Mikaela!
I have no more words, every episode amazes me more and more! This gives me a big wind at my back and in that I find inspiration and motivation to continue. The series "Moving Right Along" is getting better and better episode by episode and I'm already looking forward to the next episode. When is the next one coming? Congratulations on your medals at the World Championships. It was really great to see you skiing. I'm already looking forward to the next times I see you on TV. It's always a pleasure to watch you do it. You are my greatest role model. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING 😍
I liked the last episode where you talked about what you're going through from a philosophical perspective. This was more just chronicling your training and races in recent weeks. I like to hear what you are thinking about this whole experience of becoming the GOAT. I hope you have time to savor it. A tip of the hat to the retirement of the other GOAT TB12.

I love this series too. The only other way we see you is in TV interviews, some of which are really upsetting because the interviewer is an ass. Thank you for doing this.
86 is just around the corner!!! I know you can do it! Just go back to when you were filming for the Jurassic World Commercial and imagine the raptors are chasing you down the hill 😁👍
WOW! I'm happy for Mikaela! So nice to see so much smiling, fun and happiness! So I made a final decision-next life I want to be a skier! P.S. I know I can't be Mikaela-she is the best in history. Just A.A.K, you can guess why 😉
I am a 12 year old ski racer, I’ve been racing for 8 years. I love skiing so much I always hated going to school because I couldn’t ski for 3 days. I know I am going to go to the Olympics. When I was 7 years old I was sitting on the chair lift with my dad and I remember him asking me what job I want when I was older, I told him I AM becoming an Olympian. I have always had that mentality. I trained the hardest spent extra time doing drills and the corse. I would love it so much if you could reply❤ you are my idle.
I think that one way to normalize talking about menstruation in sports is to get past the idea that it makes us weak. Especially if we're tired. I mean, doing lots of races so close together would tired anyone out. I think it also means we need to emphasize the importance of self care. Getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, cutting ourselves some slack. We don't need to let it stop us from doing our best because we are capable no matter what time of the month it is. I guarantee you there are other women on that world cup circuit who are on their period too at any given time. I think all the hospitality bathrooms on the world cup tour should be providing feminine products. I would imagine it's really hard when you're traveling from place to place to find time to get to a store to buy whatever it is you need. You have a schedule to keep, you have to get your work outs in. It's just alot to deal with.
I don't disagree with you...I am not implying it makes us weak, in fact I think it's worth noting that it makes our accomplishments that much more notable. It does add more stress to the body and mind. Also there's generally a higher risk of ligament injury and overall fatigue and soreness is much higher. Sleep is disrupted. Spatial awareness and balance can be impacted as well. So basically… it’s terrible and we all just have to deal with it😅 When they had tampons in the bathroom at Špindlerův Mlýn, that was surprising for me - because there aren't typically feminine products in the bathrooms on tour. I agree, it should just be a standard, not an exception to the rule. Thank you so much for weighing in on this topic!!
@Mikaela Shiffrin I didn't think you were imply weakness at all. I probably should have said this better but I just meant on top of having races so close together, then there's this other thing to deal with. I totally understand the fatigue and sleep thing. I have a harder time sleeping during my period. This month in particular hit me harder than others. I know it's harder when you're an athlete, and there's a lot you can't control. I think the fact that in Kronplatz you were proud of yourself for pushing yourself even though you were tired because of it was great. It definitely makes us stronger for having to just deal with all of it. I challenge a man to be really exhausted with cramps and ski down a mountain or do any sport. I have heard that thing about ligament injury. I didn't know it affected your spatial awareness. That's really interesting. I can't imagine how much harder it makes things. Especially slalom or giant slalom because you have to constantly be thinking about the next gate and your body position.
@mikaelashiffrin Lydia Ko mentioned she wasn’t at her best at a tournament last year due to it being that time of the month. Caused quite a stir on that tour too. Lydia handled like the great champ she is too and had to talk a lot. Funny world we live in! Hope you are enjoying a little “break” and finish out 2023 strong!

@@mercuryfever392 It's wild, huh?! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!!
@Mikaela Shiffrin Yep! Thanks, for the responses. It means alot. I really appreciate it. 😀 Keep slaying it on the mountain!
I think if Crazy Wendy had posted a good time yesterday you would have won. What do you think ? Congrats on the GS.
You never know...it's ski racing. But! Wendy was skiing very, very fast.
@@mikaelashiffrin ha ha she’s always full gas that’s why she’s Crazy Wendy. Love watching you guys race. It’s inspiring.
