I think she was just trying to say that colorism doesn't exclude her from racism. I agree with you though because I don't think she gets how much light skinned black people are seen as more palatable for marketing to a wide range of people. It's like they use light skinned or racially ambiguous black people to include black people without having to say they truly don't want us.

The fact that the brunch turned into a triage to wipe Kaylon's tears is utterly ridiculous. She shouldn't have been there to begin with ... Period. This was about black women's empowerment - Kaylon has no role in that. And if she decided to be there, don't personalize the discussion, be quiet, and learn. (but i knew she was going to start stuff) Next she tried to start something with the dentist lady.(when all she did was try to be nice and speak to you)she didn't fall for it. Next it was the (white) lady that was crying. Marie talking about I wanted to hear the announcement. This ain`t your event boo boo. Clearly the whole table is having a convo.
