I’m so glad you like Reylo. It’s not some mushy romance, it’s an intense chemistry both spiritual and sexual between two powerful equals in the Force. That’s the best part for me is that they are equals, two equals on opposite sides, and two equals who care for each other could potentially accomplish anything they want! Like, perhaps, ending a decades long war and balancing the Force! :)
I think it’s pretty clear that Kylo fell for her by the end of TFA, he’s not a bit angry at her for scarring his face when he sees her again. But I think the exact moment he truly fell in love with her was during the hand touch. That was all it took for him to finally go against Snoke-the potential of killing the past and starting over in a new life with Rey. He saw that she would stand with him and they would never be alone again. That gave him hope and confidence, because I feel like Ben has been yearning for unconditional love his entire life, love he feels his parents and Luke never gave. Also it’s important to note he used Anakin’s saber to kill Snoke and protect Rey, the saber that wouldn’t obey him at all just days earlier. So that whole scenario was Ben letting the light in, balancing himself, being able to trick Snoke because he wasn’t at all conflicted in that moment, drawing wisdom and strength from his compassion for her, and by doing the right thing.
I’m so excited to see what IX delivers, even if Reylo is doomed to be one-sided I feel like the fact Kylo can fall in love at all (and true empathy is a light side trait, so Ben *is* in there) means there is hope for a redemption, whether Rey fully reciprocates his romantic feelings by the end or not. I think she will if Ben redeems himself because how could she not? He’s her literal ying-yang other half. And he’s sexy af 🔥
psy-kylo-gy I love your name
I'd love to have whatever you're smoking
God, you are SO RIGHT. I'm crying
Man i love kylo's story. He is the most interesting character in star wars if you ask me. He isnt completely evil. He isnt a perfect good guy hero. He is conflicted and thats what i love about his character. His story is what makes rey interesting to me. Id love to see their relationship explored further in episode 9. Not just hated enemies. They could be allies. They could be enemies. Who knows. Will they fall in love? I doubt it. But they could still be allies. They could be the true balance of the force. That Praetorians fight is still stunning and as much as i want a rey vs kylo rematch, seeing them work together is great too.
Exactly! I'm not sure on the real deal love side of the equation but I think they are bound forever.
So true
I mean Anakin is the most interesting one but you’ve got a point
ShadowShade19 I agree with u
You should look up Darth Revan.
Ben Solo’s gonna need a lesson from Uncle Lando in how to woo the ladies so he can finally propose to Rey in IX. What else would Lando be needed for, card playing with Chewie? : )
LMAO
Amen👏👏👏
😂🤣
😂😂🤣
@Jett Philips Kylo Ren ≠ Ben Solo
Darth Vader ≠ Anakin Skywalker
People accept that Darth Vader could be redeemed... but the same people argue that Reylo should not happen because of Kylo killing Han.
I grew up on the prequels, I was very young back then and I didn't get it, years later I watched TFA without remembering a thing from the first movies but damn when I watched Kylo and Rey interact I was like "am I the only one seeing this friggin intense chemistry they have?" and that's when I got sucked into a blackhole of obsession. Reylo is Canon. I love winning.
This was so great!!! I love how you combine the seriousness and humor! It’s so refreshing to hear Reylo from a guy’s perspective too!
This is not my account but I’m a male and we are out there in droves - I’m making my own account soon on the subject as well too
Considering Oscar Isaac said on Ellen there is a romance in TFA you just might miss it during the first viewing shows they were setting it up
I wish i saw that interview.
Pretty sure this is the one:

AT-AT Chat starts at 2:15 th-cam.com/video/fuAwgmz7jTc/w-d-xo.html
Yes, the pairing was Poe/BB-8. Anyone can see that! :D
But it wasn't obvious. That's what they all said. what is not more "not obvious" than Poe and Rey. All their scenes mirror each other. It's like Serendipity or Sleepless in Seattle in space.
Three things:
1) Another great video 👍
2) My take on Kylo getting upset after Rey gets out of the interrogation room is because he wanted to have another go at getting the map, and use that as an excuse to not deliver Rey to Snoke. But she's gone, and that throws his plan out the window.
3) About Rey's time at Maz's castle, there is a very good argument you can use against the anti-Reylo's still bitching that "Reylo's abusive, she'll be with Finn." Maz told Rey that the belonging she sought was ahead of her, not behind. Rey and Finn had already meet, making Finn behind Rey, while Kylo was still an hour ahead. Emphasis on ahead.
Also works against DamRey shippers since Poe was supposed to die in TFA, but that was changed at the last minute only because they liked the actor. That's not enough to change the entire point of the trilogy.
The other aspect I wish I added in was how maz was the magic fairy godmother. But I think your onto something with Kylo and trying to get the plans again.
Part of me always felt that he was trying to use Rey to stop snoke from using starkiller from taking out the resistance base. It's like he got sidetracked by Hux and then he loses it again. (because he still loves mommy)
@@ATATChat I don't think Kylo (Ben) wanted to bring Rey to Snoke at all. I'm basing it on a line from Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.
"The Emperor will show you the true nature of the Force. He is your master now."
When Kylo Ren and Rey have their blades crossed at the cliff edge, Kylo Ren does not tell Rey "The Supreme Leader Snoke will...." Nope. He says:
"You need a teacher. I could show you the ways of the Force..." (No mention of the Dark Side, as with Lor San Tekka during the Jakku village attack.)
@@J_Rossi Oh man, that's a great point.
Interesting. I won't say I disagree with you, but I do think JJ went WAY too subtle with the Reylo cues in TFA, at least as evidenced by the general audience reaction. I tend to think that this was a miscalculation because JJ just LOVES his Mystery Boxes and wanted to surprise us more than he wanted to build a relationship that any casual fan can understand. Rian got that ship (pun intended) back on track IMO, but obviously there's a lot of antipathy toward Reylo now, so JJ is going to have to be much more heavy-handed in IX than he was in TFA in order to sell it. We shall see!
I appreciate this response! Its totally cool to disagree with me as long as its presented in a respectful way. In some cases I think you have a solid argument that it is REALLY subtle. But I obsess over details haha.
@@ATATChat I think theres beauty in subtlety. Everything has a starting point and the tension between them in TFA was gripping. In that one I was not ok with it but the idea if a redemptive arc made it seem a better idea. Lol
I fontvthinkbthd audience needs to be high in the head with it gir it to be there and really work. Sometimes the flow build of a relationship is more intriguing than shirtless scenes.
I completely agree. Although subtlety is a beautiful thing, part of the reason why so many people did not acknowledge the possibility of Reylo being a romance after the release of TFA was because it was TOO subtle. Rian was able to emphasize that possibility in TLJ because he made Reylo more obvious, which sent a clear message to the audience that there could be a romance. It may just be me but I hope JJ wrote a less subtle romance in TRoS in order to give the audience a clear direction in storytelling and have an ultimately satisfying and impactful ending to the whole saga.
Rey after Kylo take of his mask: Hello there
Kylo: General Kenobi 😂😂😂
Hahaha
+Ana-Maria Apostol It was more like the famous "Spongebob" moment:
"Oh, no! He's hooooot!"
Honestly I found that so funny🤣🤣🤣
Rey before mask-off: _I want to kill you_
Rey after mask-off: "Damn it, *he's cute* !"
When Kylo was interrogating Rey in FA and looking into her mind I always felt he was relating to her, like "at night, desperate to sleep..." and so on. He was probably going through it too.
Hell yeah to all this!
It's so obvious to me I just don't understand how some people don't acknowledge it. It just seems like if you're still denying it after TLJ that you have to actually be actively suppressing knowledge of it, denying your better senses.
I think a lot of SW fans would feel very liberated if they just admitted it's there, it exists, and maybe they kinda like it. I think some people are afraid of being perceived as weak, cheesy, or stupid if they're for romance, a lot of guys probably think it emasculates them. That's a bunch of nonsense. It actually just makes you an emotionally well-rounded person, balanced.
Arvel Crynyd Great comment, I agree! Reylo is pretty obvious to me, at least in the first two films. Honestly I will be surprised if they kiss in IX just because the film has to cover so much story with so many characters, but I’d absolutely love it if they did-especially if Rey initiated it. Not because I demand a kiss to make it “official” but because more than anything Ben seems like a person who down deep just truly wants to love and be loved in return. And Rey showing him affection like that would be huge. His family (he feels) could never love him, so his darkness naturally grew stronger from those feelings of abandonment, pain and resentment. But he was always meant to be a balanced individual. And he still can be in the end-he has work to do!
I tell the people who still claim they "just don't see it" that they are either blind or a troll. Or both. 😂 I even noticed the subtleties of Reylo in TFA, but acknowledged that it could've been my imagination. Watching TLJ removed ALL doubt, though. You still don't see it after that, huh? Oh give me a break.
The melody, on the scene when Kylo Rey carry in to the Space Ship, is a modified melody from the theme from Romeo and Juliet.
Btw Cool Video.
The most Reylo-Videos or opinions are rather negative. That's the first Video where the good Sides of the Reylo-Realation are explaint.
I think a lot of fans forget that the entire saga is built on various aspects of love and forgiveness. Anakin, Padme, Qui Gon towards Anakin, Han and Leia, Luke's love for his sister and father. It's all over the place.
The people who get real salty on Reylo are ironically love the Padme Anakin dynamic. Which unfortunately is another abusive relationship.
Appreciate you watching!!
Holy crap. This has a lot of views. Thanks so much everyone! If you're new here please check out my older content! Lots of good stuff 😍😍
Dude, you nailed it. This one video alone perfectly explains why I ship reylo. Thank you so much!
Great video as usual. Rey and Ben truely are meant to be. I love the Beauty and the Beast comparison.
That beauty and the beast comparison has been around for a bit but it all dawned on me once I listened to JJ talk through the film. Its such a good inspiration to pull from. I believe GWS touched on it a bit as well as a blog called tale as old as time.
Awesome analysis! I’m a Reylo through and through, but as you said, the most interesting aspect of their connection is that they represent balance and the dualism of the Force.
Also, the “hello there” “General Kenobi” was unexpected, but amazing 😂
Anyone else notice how he didn't force push her head to lean on the chair while reading her mind as opposed to Poe?
He's a gentleman
In the novelization of TFA he even tells Rey that he would have preferred to avoid the mind probe. He says he will go as easily on her as he can but that he will take what he needs. The "monkey wrench"? He picks up on her intense loneliness and painful memories and his mind starts going: "She's just like me." He gets more interested in learning about her than he is in the map that he was supposed to get.
I'm picking this up today
No but I did notice Kylo push Rey into a tree!
@@jakeskywalker7235 Self defense. He had just been shot by Chewbacca moments before that. Rey drew her gun first. I doubt he would just stand there and let Rey shoot him a second time. Plus when he says "It's just us now. Han Solo can't save you" he's looking at and talking to Finn. Finn was the first person he looked at after he was shot. Han saved Finn from getting killed by the stormtrooper that called him a traitor. Han didn't save Rey from anything.
Kylo wanted to deal with Finn directly, the man he saw as a traitor. In order to do that he had to get Rey out of the way in a way that would do the least amount of harm possible but would still keep Rey down long enough for Finn to be taken care of.
If Kylo had just pulled the gun out of Rey's hand and thrown it aside...then Rey would have had almost a full minute to go run and find the pistol to shoot Kylo in the back while he was dueling with Finn. Knocking Rey out was his only logical and reasonable choice in that moment.
The novelization of TFA is way less subtle in regards to Reylo than the film. My favorite is when they first meet in the forest on Takodana and she shoots at him. He says to her, "You would shoot at me despite not even knowing me?" And then a few seconds later, "You're so afraid, when really, I'm the one who should be scared. You shot at me first." Like, he's constantly guilt tripping her for trying to defend herself, implying that she doesn't NEED to. And I'm so glad you brought up the fact that he carried her himself onto the ship. That, to me, was very telling. He could've just let her drop, snapped his fingers and told the troopers, "Put her on the ship." I could go on, but the point is...this dude is totally right. It was always there.
This video actually changed my opinion a little bit on what i think of Reylo. Im still not sure it will happen or happen the way it happens in fans minds but it is still interesting to think about now.
If thats the case then I did my god damn job finally! Haha. Thanks so much for watching.
Standing ovation to you. I do not think there are enough words of praise because I feel like I have gone in a Reylo overload in the past year in fact let me confess something here right now. Originally after Force Awakens I wasn't much into Reylo at first. Didn't understand it or saw the point in it but then around the end of 2017 out of nowhere everything changed I would go down the rabbit hole but this time I'm just going to leave it as the rest is history. Plus it helped that Beauty and the Beast 2017 was out in the same year and was the second highest grossing film behind The Last Jedi. But in all seriousness and I never said this on here the true reason why I'm so invested in the Reylo community or at least I turn to channels that don't have a problem with it is because I felt like it was one of the few groups in the star wars fandom in general that wasn't starting drama or making TH-cam feel like an insane asylum and it reminded me very much of the I guess one could call the good old days of Twilight that as a formal Twihard myself we dealt with a lot of extreme hate and in all corners of websites and comment sections other than fan sites the vitriol and extreme, ridiculous very often sexist and dismissive dialogue and ignorance from them and even a grand portion of the media and journalists that threw gasoline on it and all that jazz was just astonishing. And to this day it still blows my mind how extreme that was, and I understand people have issues with Twilight as a book and a movie I've had my share of issues too like I have issues with every adaptation of any book series that I love but the extreme hate from some people was so over the top. And for months from late Thursday night going into Friday morning of opening night of Last Jedi and all the months that followed and shockingly still to this day, these many months of almost the whole internet going completely insane over one movie by throwing canon balls at each other (which is what it sounds like) has been an echo of what I observed when I was into Twilight. So anyway that was very off topic but yeah I've been feeling quite at home with not only the more positive side of the fandom or at least on youtube but with a huge number of fans that are in the Reylo community. There was even a comment I left on last night's live stream comment section when I was ready to type and it was a comment I referred when I typed it on the lords of the Sith's recent video and one of the things that I put out very bluntly was that I am tired of our society currently being so afraid of embracing romance and thinking that a female character that is strong and independent doesn't need to love a man or have a man in her life and have genuine feelings for him. She should just reject it entirely because it is god forbid very cheesy or there's something wrong with it. Romance is wrong now, it's immoral. And you guys talked about this in the pod cast the other night that love has always been in "Star Wars" for one to prefer violence and graphic violence over love and think that love never mattered is really kind of sad. And it also doesn't help in what has become a very strange, divisive PC culture and outrage culture group think mentality and attitude running rampant that has made so many people feel negative and I guess therefore think that romance in fiction now is dumb and pointless. I made my point in the comment from both videos and layed it out very bluntly and I think that kind of spiteful attitude and ignorance towards romance and love is very sad and more people like us need to call that out and be unapologetic about it. In addition we should also give big kudos to the panel coming to celebration that talks all about romance. And the last thing I want to mention is that nobody especially no girl or woman no matter how strong and independent they are should ever feel ashamed to show genuine emotions and want to connect with another person especially a man and help him reconnect with his humanity. At all.
Miranda Alicea Beautiful comment 👏👏👏
Thank you I really appreciate it.
The way TROS ended their relationship makes this video all the more tragic to me, but bravo, sir - beautifully weaved and told. I can absolutely see the parallels between Disney fairytales like Beauty and the Beast and this film, and I'm ok with that. So much of fiction is indulging in ideas that can be really far from reality, yet relatable enough to be heartwarming.
did you notice the parallels belle came back to beast like ben came back for rey belle saved beast like ben saved rey
“Don’t be afraid, I feel it too.”
Honestly their whole relationship is something that has interested me the past few days as I watched The Rise of Skywalker because I accidentally missed The last Jedi. But then I sat down to watch the it and was surprised with this relationship. I loved their force connection and the way they used it for intimacy instead of her leaving or him coming to her. I always saw their relationship as physical embodiments of the Light and the Dark side. It's why I was so fascinated by that. And honestly I didn't see the beauty and the beast connection until you mentioned it.
I really enjoyed this. For me, the reason why I love Reylo so much is because there are literal seeds and foreshadowing of their relationship and balance throughout the entire saga. FE : "Love cant save you Padme, only my new powers can do that." Love ends up saving both Vader and Kylo. Its just so narratively perfect to end the saga on. Thats why, whenever someone tells me that Rey should end up with Poe or Finn, I ask them, "Ok so you think they would be a better choice for this story. What does that relationship change or advance the narrative of the entire saga? What are the stakes? " There are no stakes with those relationships. Reylo is the balance. And if you want to disavow star wars because of it- thats fine. Maybe we dont need a bunch of people who dont seem to narratively understand the nuance and weight of this soap opera. So when I see that Stephanie woman making streams about "reylo babies" and how reylo ruins Han and Leia, I roll my eyes and think, "Well if star wars doesnt suit your needs or wants anymore, I would really like you to leave and stop being a pain in the ass. We dont have the patience and time for 60 yr old crabby women to be breathing down our neck and telling us we're ruining her star wars. NEWS FLASH: Star Wars is a fairytale made for 12 year old kids. So when you say that the twilight 13 yr olds are taking over you are LITERALLY talking about the targeted audience.
I wish I could like this more times. Brava!

I agree that The Last Jedi showed us the potential that Kylo/Ben and Rey have when they work together. Now I really hope Episode IX pays that off. I heard you mention on Girls With Sabers that you listened to J.J. Abrams commentary on The Force Awakens! If you want to see more about the initial meeting between Rey and Kylo in the forest on Takodana, check out the novelization, which is considered canon. Without looking it up I remember that it goes a bit into something that Kylo feels that draws out his curiosity about Rey.
Oh dude I'm grabbing that immediately
AT-AT Chat Actually I went and looked it up, having it on my Kindle App. It is really just a line about Kylo sensing something. But take that together with Rey recognizing him at first sight saying, “She has seen this man before, in a daydream. In a nightmare.” And some additional lines in the interrogation scene where Kylo again senses something of interest. And this is why early Reylo’s were suspicious of Snoke’s claim of bridging their minds. A lot of people thought these early clues hinted at them both recognizing the other from possible previous dreams or visions. And a lot of people were predicting a Force Bond had been formed in the moment during the interrogation when they were in each other’s minds simultaneously before The Last Jedi came out.
There is a great interview on The Star Wars Show with members of the Lucas Story Group that came out after The Last Jedi. They talk quite a bit about Rey and Kylo. It is definitely worth a watch. And it was hinted that something significant happened during the interrogation. So I’m inclined to think (at least my head canon until told otherwise) that the Force Bond/connection was formed at that time. And Snoke was either lying or simply manipulating something that already existed.
I think the novelizations of TFA and TLJ are both worth the read. And the Junior novelizations, written for a younger audience, have additional and different clues. If you look at all of it you get a fair bit more Reylo evidence.
@@blackeyedlily reading the novelization of TFA and TLJ made me love the sequels so much more, and they made me love Kylo Ren so much. The novels really get into Kylo Ren's head, and now he is officially my favorite Star Wars character now. So much depth and interest.
I also love how his hands are relaxed when he's crouched down, just watching her in the interrogation scene. With her is the only time you see his hands relaxed like that, I believe. Also, yeah, he could go straight for the map in her head, but he takes a detour. Going back to when the Order first arrives on Takodana, Maz calls them "those beasts". And then, before Kylo catches up to her, her life is in danger from the Stormtroopers (some of them can shoot. Not the ones shooting at her thus far, but still), the wolves. His pursuit of her on Takodana actually protected her from them. I love their duel in the forest. First off, while his force throw looked violent, she doesn't seem to be the worse for wear because of it. He was protecting himself and getting her out of the way to have fisticuffs with Finn. In behind the scenes footage, when Rey is out and Finn is seeing how she is, Kylo yells "stop" instead of traitor. I think Kylo didn't intend to hurt Rey and probably did only what was necessary, even protecting her somewhat in the force from being truly hurt. I saw his style of dueling explained as one used to move your opponent where you want them. There's no hatred in his features. He does get frustrated at one point, but he even says "I don't want to kill you" as they stand locked over the cliff. It was edited out, but you can see his lips moving and it looks like that is what he's saying. And he just watches her as she gathers strength, even allowing his life to come into jeopardy.
A little side note: I watched a video describing some of the symbolism that JJ uses in TFA, which I love. Of course, the bell and rose in the AT-AT, the castle, the forest, and the "Death and the Maiden" carry, but also the Persephone and Hades moment. When Kylo's ship takes off with Rey, there are four tie fighters proceeding his ship, like black horses to his chariot, taking Rey into the underworld. But the one I love best is the one that I haven't seen anyone else see. Some have pointed out the hearts in the trees between them and between Han and Leia, and when the cliff splits and leaves Rey on one side and Kylo on the other, his side is clearly shaped like a heart. I love that. But as Kylo approaches her on Takodana, while there is a little heart (crudely shaped) in the trees between them, there's a HUGE one, perfectly shaped, coming out of the tree directly to the left of Rey, and as Kylo closes the space between them, it's perfectly highlighted for just a moment. It's beautiful! I haven't seen anyone else talk about it, not that they haven't. Maybe I should make a video!
Yasssss
I definitely would say...make a video!!
Found your channel through Girls with Sabers. This vid is a balm to my Reylo-shippin' soul. Thanks for your awesome content!
Thank you so much! Also, cute pic with the kiddo! Mine just turned 13 months.
Regarding the Beauty and The Beast reference: Listen to Rey’s theme and then listen to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack.
Were they written by the same composer!? Beauty and Beast 2017 is literally the same melody with a few tweaks!
@@Startupsandsushi right!! They weren’t written by the same composer though :)
3 things:
So Kylo wants Rey for her affection because of a similar background and not her power?
I think JJ has a big love for medieval era. The story, kylo, Maz's castle, the Jedi village on Ach-to. It screams medieval.
And I wish there wear more people like you and channels like this. I wish I could be more like this but I am not that great at analysing and recognising stuff.
Yeah duder, I think Kylo is seeking HER as an individual over her utility if that makes sense. I think he legitimately is drawn to her because of their similar background.
Re: Medieval
Also hints of it in Kylo's costume, a cross between a knight and a monk is what I take from it. Plus the cross-guard lightsaber. it is very much indicative of a Medieval knight's weapon.
@@J_Rossi I typed this comment on a phone at 1 in the morning when I was so tired and I couldn't be bothered to go over any mistakes I made or make my sentences better.
Yeah. Kylo looked like a warrior in 7. In 8 he looked like a knight. I was hoping he would look like a king for 9 but that appears not to be the case because of the concept art poster.

Assuming that Reylo doesn't become a real romance before the third act of episode 9, I have an idea for the ending of the movie (and obviously most of this won't happen, but if any fanfic people want to fill in the blanks, be my guest ;))
I think Leia will die during the movie, but before it's over she realizes that some shit went down with Rey and Kylo on the supremacy and asks her not to give up hope (because of course, Rey is still salty about what happened between them).
Fast forward a bit--Kylo completes his redemption by realizing that he was wrong about everything. He turns on the First Order of his own accord, and while the main characters don't know it (though I would love to see Finn initiate a stormtrooper rebellion), he is vital to finishing off the war. However, that's not the end of it. People still need to punish the commander of the FIrst Order, so space Hague decides that the best solution is....exile.
They don't tell anyone where they're dumping him (maybe they tell Poe since he'd be the resistance leader at this point).
Weeks and months go by and Rey is having visions of him wandering the desert. She realizes that he's on Jakku (or maybe Poe decides to tell her because he knows she wants to find him--which would be an interesting development after he made a joke to Rey in the comics about them being "torture buddies!!"). So one night she decides to take the Falcon out for a ride (and maybe Finn and Rose decide to help her sneak out, assuming they're on some military base?), and fast forward to her flying back to Jakku. Her force visions are getting more intense, but of course the whole planet's a desert and she doesn't know where to look for him.
Then suddenly, she sees one last vision that brings it all together.
She lands the Falcon and walks out, and you can see her run up and stop at the sight of her old home. It's still untouched and not buried by the sand as she would have expected, and she realizes what that means. Slowly and tearfully, she walks back inside and sees that it's just as she left it. But only when she sees half eaten food does she turn around in shock to see Ben awkwardly standing there wearing the clothes of a desert scavenger. Everything goes silent, but there's that clarity.
"Rey," he says with a whisper, as if he's not quite sure if she's really there.
"Ben," she replies with a crack in her voice. He's alive, he's okay.
They have a tearful hug and he starts to talk about how he was drawn to the spot because he felt her presence. He looks at the wall with all of the marks and talks about how sorry he is about hurting her and how terrible it must have been for her to have been alone all that time. She starts to cry, maybe makes a couple of witty remarks, my boy Ben chuckles and smiles, and then she says that she would love to get off the planet.
Next shot, the two of them are piloting the falcon together. The music swells as they hold hands and maybe sneak a little kiss as the camera pans away from the falcon and the credits roll. The force is balanced. The Skywalker has risen. Reylo is canon. Everyone's crying.
THE END.
(that or they start the skywalker academy to train future Grey Jedi) :D
THAT WOULD BE FUCKING EPIC
@@ATATChat ahhh thank you!! XD Doubt it'll happen, but a girl can dream

IF ONLY YOU WROTE THE REAL SCRIPT, MATE!!! QAQ
I remember walking out of the cinema after watching TFA excited like a kid on Christmas because Rey and Kylo's dynamic was so fairytale-ish it was unreal. Soon, I learnt most people thought they were cousins and pretty much no one agreed with me.
That's when I found the Reylo community in Tumblr. We were roughly 500 people back then (Jan. 2016); we all knew each other and we analyzed the shit out of TFA: from soundtrack and sound editing to framing and scripts.
When the teaser for TROS came out, I was searching through some of those old posts for a friend and reading them made me realize we hit a lot of nails on the head so far.
When I first saw TFA I thought they were too, but then after a second viewing I didn't really understand how I or others made that assumption.
I discovered your channel from the Girls With Sabers podcast and I'm so happy I subbed you, your content is awesome and so professional too! Keep at it! :)
Great video, I completely agree. I also think he is possessive over her. I mean, the way he looks at Finn and how he yells at him. I mean sure it could be because of Finn being a traitor, but I have watched videos by another
youtube that shows how possessive he is over her, and how he shows it. Once again great video.
I wanna see that video you mention...
That's probably the more Kylo side than Ben Solo.
@@isobelduncan yeah definitely could be. I think he probably is bipolar because of some symptoms of him changing so much.
That reylo shock in TLJ is why I really enjoy the sequel trilogy, I never saw it coming.
This is one of the best Reylo video analysis that I've heard and I've been a reylo since December 2015, when The Force Awakens first came out.
I greatly appreciate that! A lot of my insights came from various channels and other people in the fandom. Shout out to Den of Nerds, Girls With Sabers, Vincent Vendetta, Wayward Jedi, and my Boy....JJ Abrams.
Great video! I think Rey and Kylo Ren had dreams or visions of each other before The Force Awakens. That's why he's so curious about her.
Totally! I figured in that scene with the knights of Ren that Kylo saw Rey. It seems like it
@@ATATChat, I thought so too! Kylo seems to recognize her.
Damn he predicted the force dyad
I do like your speculation about it actually being Ben shouting "Come Back" at a departing ship! We know from both the novel and the movie that Rey has had dreams for a long time about her parents and 'the island.'
In the TFA vision after she touches the saber, she sees a boy (in the novel) which is most likely a young Ben Solo and also Kylo seems to actually see her when he stabs that guy in the rain with KoR, as if she has materialised in the past / future! (like Bran in GoT)
I think they have been seeing each other in dreams and visions long before they ever met. That could explain Kylo's "What Girl!" overeaction with Mitaka and why he attaches himself to her so quickly. If they have shared dreams for years, that might explain why Rey dreamed her parents abandoned her and left in a ship, even though in reality she also knows that they sold her for drinking money and died on Jakku. She was about 5 when it happened and Ben would have been 15 (which is the age he was probably left with Uncle Luke)
I made a sort of edit if this happening but it's odd. Haha.
Omg, this is the real deal and the truth! 😍💞 #Reylo Reylo forever!
"Beauty and the Beast" is the most obvious Disney parallel, but there are a few other ones I noticed. I also see "Sleeping Beauty", Pocahontas", and the first two "Lion King" movies. I'm sure many people besides me have seen them, too.
Definitely! I mostly focused on that bc of JJ using that in his TFA commentary.
@@ATATChat I've heard the Disney parallels will be even stronger in "The Rise of Skywalker". I'd love to see a similar argument between Rey and Ben as there was between Simba and Nala, and also a moment where she steps between Ben and the Resistance to protect him, like Pocahontas did for John Smith.
You put this video together so beautifully. This is my go to video to prove Reylo was cannon before TROS😊 I think the relation ship between Rey and Ben can also be compared to Pride and Prejudice.
Great job! I hope Reylo is prominent in the marketing. This is embarrassing to admit but I wanted Luke and Leia to be a couple when I was a kid. When the poster came out for ESB and I saw Han and Leia about to kiss, I quickly realized I was sooo wrong! 😂 It helped me come to terms before the film came out. It didn’t ruin the movie for me. It made me more curious about the princess and the outlaw.
Yaaaas King! Subscribed! Reylo is the waylo!
People tend to forget that Kylo is very conflicted after killing his father, shot in the gut by Chewie's blaster shot that killed and send a few stormtroopers flying when Han used it, and slashed in the shoulder by Finn.
Kylo is quite the powerhouse with the force despite his mental instability. If he had none of these he would have won against Rey.
He's a focal point in the Force between Light and Dark, which is why he's so torn and conflicted. The Force is literally playing tug of war with him. The Rise of Kylo Ren comics even make a reference to this. He's also mentioned to have been Luke's prize student besting all the others at the academy in pretty much everything.
@@isobelduncanIt makes absolute sense why Klyo is that way
This video is so nice and beautiful. Thank you! I was crying
It’s really SO GOOD
That has been my new pick-up line , join me , we will be the clan of two I'll be your teacher and we will both learn the ways of the force together
Anakin, a force ghost: so, what you’re gonna do is, you’re gonna give you her hand,
Kylo: uh huh
Anakin, you’re gonna offer peace and you’re gonna say,
Kylo: ......
Kylo: you are nothing
Anakin:
Anakin:
Anakin: dear god you’re hopeless for the love of kriff
LMAO
YES thank you for this video!!! I've been a fan of Reylo since TFA and these are all points many of us have said, but it's so great to have it all in one short, concise video. You worded everything very eloquently as well. I appreciate this!!!
Well done as usual! The parallels to B&B are not something I'd ever thought of, but they are right there in plain sight. I've not been a reylo, but I'm not opposed to it either....
This has me thinking...
a dangerous past-time, I know. ;)
Incredible. Thanks so much for watching. I think Reylo is so much bigger than romance personally. I think the big thing is that they have a deep connection now through the force.
I literally agree with you 100%!! Thanks for putting this together.
This theory actually answered to my thoughts on what if Luke joined Vader without falling to the Dark Side? The two of them kill the Emperor, join forces as father and son, rather than Sith master and apprentice, but as Sith Master and Jedi Master. Both sides joined harmony, destroying millenias of death and destruction between the two factions.
I love this. Thank you. So glad to hear a man do a video on this topic and take it seriously. I really appreciate your work on this! *Subscribed*
Thank you!
Love the “dating video” music towards the end xD But I love how you illustrate it’s more than just an attraction. The idea they’re two lonely souls looking for acceptance and the family love they never really got while being on opposite sides of the war is probably the most romantic and dramatic premises I’ve seen in the films :D
haha, that was un intended but hilarious to point out! Thanks for checking this out!
Don't forget that they saw one another in a vision...
I love, love, love this video. Your take on their relationship and dynamic is so spot on and heartfelt
ugh bless you for making this video!
This video saved my week.
Great edition, great narration. Good job, sir ♥
Thanks so much 🥰
Very well thought out! Thank you!
"hello there" my reaction exactly lol
This is THE best video I’ve seen on Reylo. Hands down. You did a great job hitting all the high points. 👏🏼🏅
It took a lot of rewrites! haha thank you!
AT-AT Chat Well good videos take time! I’m glad you decided to share your thoughts on TH-cam. I have a hard time finding good videos that truly explain why Reylo isn’t just some frilly romance drama. It has a much deeper meaning like you said.
Finally, a well articulated video on their dynamic. Thank you so much. This new saga has a lot of things I like and a lot of things I hate, but this one, this dynamic is gold and is one of the reasons I keep coming back to the movies, because I need to know how they solve their problems and learn to work together. In other words, the characters both Rey and Kylo are complex and interesting enough for me to stay and watch how the whole thing works out. I wouldnt mind if they continue their dynamic with more movies, because they share something truly interesting and special. I would have loved that even more if the narrative of other things in the saga was actually taken care of in a different way (Luke, Leia and Han's story particularly). Thank you for sharing this video with us.
Thank you so much Sara!
Thank you for this video!! This was on one side reyloish yet not too hard - it was explained very obviously and calmly - thank you very much.
Such a great video! Thank you for doing this!
Amazing video! I loved it!!! ❤
Reylo is Bae-lo.
Hey fam! Make sure you check out www.camsharpevfx.com!
Guy is amazing at his work.
Your videos have high production value, and are so engaging. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
Yes, getting to know each other and working together will bring balance!
And don’t we want men and women to come together and be united as one and not against one another
@@Rey20171 Good morning 😊 Agreed!! Men and women who work together make life so much easier.😄
@@Rey20171 "To be united by hatred is a fragile alliance at best."
Whos here after tros?😫😫💔
You should also make a breakdown of their journey/relationship on The Rise of Skywalker.
I enjoy your vids! subscribed 👍
Well done! I recognized the parallels to Beauty and the Beast myself. I agree. 👍
The HELLO THERE and GENERAL KENOBI exchange had me in stitches wtf 😂
Finally! Haha. I loved that little joke I tossed in there. Made my buddy die laughing.
Loved this video! Great job!
This video just made me realize that Reylo is among the best of Star Wars
You just got a new subscriber!! Love the vid keep up the good work!!👍
And one more thing thank you for giving a special shout out and ode to Beauty and the Beast for it is my favorite movie of all time. Hmm it’s funny how many of the couples I’ve fallen in love with over the years I always refer back to beauty and the beast funny how that works. Maybe some day Rey and Ben and Belle and Prince Adam can meet up
OH YES!!!! Reylo all the way!!!... The interrogation room and the look in Kylos eyes in the forest, yeah, the look of Love!!!....
I am rather curious as to where the owl cane from.
@@Rey20171 My apologies for not replying sooner! My son and daughter-in-law just landed in London England, and I was being bombarded by a huge amount of texts. To answer your guestion about the owl, I believe I got it from Zedge. I thought it was cute, because sometimes at the end of a hectic day that's how I feel! I'm sure we've all felt somewhat frazzeled at times. Lol!!
TFA set up a lot perfectly...
Bummed out by the new direction? Totally ok my dood. I'll never tell you you're wrong if you disliked TLJ.
I really enjoyed this. This was a great breakdown.
That means a lot! I hope you checked out some more of the analysis series! Plus a bunch of whacky skits. 🤘
It's true all of it 😎
this hurts now lol
1:19 why did your prescription of Kylo and Rey reminded me of Romeo and Juliet?
Oh my God, I really enjoyed your video 😭 I like the way you explain Reylo. When I first saw TFA and TLJ, I was too young to understand their connection. I thought: "oh, yeah. Romance." But now that I am older (I have also saw TRoS), I can understand what I couldn't before, like the story behind Rey and Kylo's Force bond and stuff. I recently read someone's comments under a Reylo fan art on Pinterest, where they were saying things like: "I really don't ship Reylo. I would like Rey and Ben." But I believe Rey+Kylo Ren isn't such a different thing. Ben wasn't gone, he has always been inside, behind the mask of Kylo Ren, and Rey has always known that. So Rey knew Ben wasn't gone and she fell in love with him, despite all the things Kylo has done, because it wasn't really him.
Their connection started, like you said, in the first moment they met. In that case, Ben was almost convinced he was only Kylo Ren. So, let's say he was really only Kylo Ren: their bond initated when he was the villain; so if you are saying you like Rey and Ben, you happen to like Rey and Kylo, too, because all started when he was a "bad guy": without it, there would be no Rey and Ben.
Why would Reylo be a bad thing? She was surprised by seeing a human, a man, a boy; he didn't want to hurt her in any way; they had some really intimate moments; at the end they kissed.
She helped him finding his path, she fought with him, she chose him. I can't see where the badness, toxicity are.
So much yes in this video. I’ve been saying it forever 💖💜
Kylo: It’s so good to meet you, awake, I... I watched you sleep...
Rey: ._.
(Random Avengers Reference)
Good to see some positive videos. Keep up the good work.
This channel fuels my ReyLo heart 💜
I absolutely love what you’ve done here telling this story! I believe you are Spot On! But can I tell you.. and this maybe just because I’m a woman but the music did not really fit with the beautiful words you were saying. But I will definitely watch more of your videos! ❤️
Great vid at at! Where there seemingly taking the trilogy is surprising and refreshing really. True balance in the force is so fundamental but powerful. We can't have these two opposing forces in constant war forever. It is called star wars for a reason though. We'll see where jj is taking this darn thing. Speculation be damned. 6 more days!
Normally I don‘t comment on videos, but I just had to. It‘s just a perfect video on this amazing Chemistry between Kylo and Rey. You summed all my thoughts toghether. Thank you. I hope it all ends with a good Film and we get our Reylo moments. I have Hope because JJ Abrams portraited their relationship in TFA so well. Btw sorry for my bad English, I am German. 😌
Thank you for watching!
Amazing video!!
THIS VIDEO IS SPOT ON!
Well this aged like a fine wine
I love everything you said, I was talking back in Agreement the whole video! 😍👏🏾😍👏🏾
Dude promise, last comment for the night but I strongly advise staying away from a channel called "Thor Skywalker" his channel isn't necessary bad, but I've seen a few of his videos and he seems just as if not more biased In his opinions about the new films, going as far as to ask if Rian has seen a SW film. Really? I could watch TLJ a dozen times and still miss all the throw backs and Easter eggs that are in the film. Rian must have watched the original trilogy at least 100 times each to prepare. TLJ to me is a combination of my two favorite films In the saga, empire and ROTJ
Twist and turns of empire combined with the family drama of ROTJ. It's insane how rian pulled that off.
Thor Skywalker sucks
Here’s the thing I actually used to watch the channel but in recent times he just seems to be very fixated on the negative even going as far as to say that no one is as excited for episode nine as they were in the beginning while that may be true some aren’t feeling it anymore but I think most people deep down want to give it a chance give it a go one last time and then move on. I don’t hate him I just wish he wasn’t so fixated on the negativity and since all these shows and books are coming out maybe just focus talking about those and make predictions and theories from there. I don’t know just a thought
@@Rey20171 👍
Used to love Thor. Now he annoys me a bit. And sounds depressed.
@@rogueguardian No hate I just think maybe he could use a couple of puppies
Bravo! Thank you for not being completely on one side or the other .
Very nice. So true, exactly my thoghts, ever since I first saw The Force Awakens
Most people really don’t like these movies. I’ve seen more hate at these movies than the prequels, which is a lot. But some questionable and rushed storylines aside, these movies and especially Rey and Ben’s connection drew me in more than the original trilogy did (maybe it’s just because of the better filming and CGI, esthetics are very important to me). This trilogy is the only one of the three that I could watch over and over and not get tired.
So anyway, stan Reylo, Ben didn’t die, I’mma go read fanfics and cry.
Yes! To all of this!
