Yes, Sir, you have to do a thesis along with your course work. If you have already done MS without a thesis then it is not possible to do only a thesis later.

Thesis means Research Thesis, one has to do research work and write thesis around 25k to 30k words ideally that is equivalent to 6 credit hours.
