Des enjoying the sandwich was the really heartwarming part of the video! 😊 As someone who loves good food just as much as fishing, I am really happy to see people and especially a legend as Des clearly is, enjoying his simple yet delicious meal. Lovely!
Brilliant for many reasons, main ones being Des is a man whose enthusiasm isn’t tainted by carping cliches and awful hip hop or dance music. The accompanying music to this is perfect!
@@Natureandfishing my pleasure, it certainly appeals to old school anglers like myself who remember the days before instant carp anglers were a thing, and those of us that did fish for carp cut their teeth on the other species and remember the romance and mystery that angling used to hold for us all. Good luck with future films, I know they will get my vote as all of your stuff over the years. Tight lines Des!
The likes of Des Taylor and John Wilson was/is the sole reason I'm still carp/cat fishing into my 52nd year . Des is a no frills good ,old school ,solid , honest angler same as John was and inspired and still inspire me to muck in and go fishing when I can. Respect nature and your quarry , what ever the genre in fishing and you will have an edge. Loved this video Nature/Fishing channel , breath of fresh air in angling. Thankyou. Steve M
Breath of fresh air to watch a carp video that isn’t ridiculously over complicated and just keeping things simple. I watched the Cuttie Mill video to death when came out and loved the take when setting the bobbin pure class,
Great to see one of the nicest blokes in fishing again. I watch a lot of TH-cam fishing videos and this is best for ages - no fancy rigs, bait or sales, just a great all round angler enjoying his fishing. Well done Des 👏👏
Superb video, pure class . Beautifully presented, beautiful venue , perfect music . No hidden agenda or sales pitch . Des is a fantastic all rounder and countryman with a genuine love of nature , and appreciation of fish of all species and sizes ❤️👍
Brilliant watch, well done Des, lovely couple of fish. I think you should do a return trip to cuttle mill, still have the tape but honestly couldn't even guess how many times I watched it all those years ago. Tight lines 🙂🎣
What a genuine pleasure it is to watch this man fish and for him to take the time to let us into it. Legend is a word often overused, but in this case its an understatement. Des stands in the pantheon of the greats
Really enjoyable video. Des a true gentleman and angling great. Really good to hear all your insights and thought processes during the session. Stunning venue and fish. my style of venue. Look forward to the next installment.
I love your knowledge and obvious love for the fish and where they live. And I love the beautiful natural scenery...such wonderful and relaxing videos. I'm now a new sub. And looking forward to more. Thanks so much and ATB.
Just found this channel. I used to read Des’ articles back in the day and found them to be really helpful in my fishing. Lovely to see the old boy is still about and making great videos. 👏👏👏
I’m gonna be turning 40 years old in a few weeks, and have been fishing for 30 years, will tell you what I’ve learned Des, and to anyone who reads my comment, the happiest anglers, and the ones who carry it on as a lifelong hobby are those of us who never loose their sense of proportion and size, and learn to be subjective, if I was fishing a feeder rod, catching single figure carp, If I bumped into a double figure fish on a session like that then that’s a big fish, if I was stalking double figure carp in the surface and caught a low - mid 20 then once again that would be a great day, same if on a lake full of 30 and a few 40lb’ers, I’d still be buzzed to catch a high 20lb’er. And no matter what I class a double figure carp as a good fish, a 20+ is a great carp to catch and over 30 is a very good sized fish ( I’ve had 2 different 33lb + commons, and a 31lb mirror as my biggest carp, and I actually caught my very first 30lb carp on a dog biscuit, surface fishing at bluebell lakes, at 33lb 1oz ! And broke that on on my next session back at bluebell , on swan lake, with a 33lb 4oz common) These are all events that I’ve experienced, many times in my years of angling, but a few years ago I lost sight myself, burnt out and descended into depression and drug abuse, sold and gave ALL my fishing gear away, from waggler and feeder rods, to barbel gear and pike tackle, through to my big carp gear, Bobby’s, bedchair, alarms, all my fly fishing gear etc … 5-6 thousand pounds worth of fishing gear , now not long after I started feeling so low about what I’d done, I ended up also signed off work with poor mental health and the drug issues, and have been so skint since that I haven’t been able to replace that stuff ( I was also in a controlling relationship, which included financial control too ) but I’m nearly a year out of that relationship, and have just had a waggler rod and a decent little reel to go with it bought for my 40th birthday, from my greatly supportive mother, luckily I still have a tacklebox full of river tackle, floats, loads of split shot, packets of small hooks, 16,18,20’s etc, and I picked up an adjustable proper fishing chair left outside for free on my estate one day ! So I’ll get a landing net soon and then I’m going back to my roots, fishing my local river ( 5 minutes walk from my front door in river side ) and I can’t wait. 💯🙏👍
@@Natureandfishing Hey I forgot just how long my comment was, until I just got your notification for replying which brought me back here, and so thank you for taking the time to not only read it, but to reply to me as well. 💯😉 Very much appreciated pal. 🙏☮️🙏
Top video as always, I'm not a carp man but I just enjoy the enthusiasm, expertise and the way you explain the details. "Happy fish are easy fish" simple😂
