Thanks for checking out our videos! There is a fly-in every year for HELI-EXPO. Next HELI-EXPO is in Orlando, FL March 3-5, 2011. I am not sure we have any cockpit video footage in the Erickson. If we do, I will get them posted.
Erickson is actually the manufacturer, they bought the production certificate from Sikorsky and they built this one (they often don't start from scratch as far as I know but rather rehab, upgrade and modify older CH-54s). They did indeed sell this one to SDG&E and bought it back from them not too long ago, so the Sun Bird currently wears a green and orange paint scheme.
1:18 Erickson air crane did PERFECT landing
2:29 Engine shutting down
Thanks for watching!
I loooove this helicopter
Actually a beautiful machine.
These things are so insanely cool but bizarre to see in person at the same time.

Beautiful machine. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
I bet the rotor wash on that thing is like experiencing a hurricane
ya think? i feel like it would be gentle seeing how overpowered that massive blade is for the empty heli.
SUPER!!!

N237AC was manufactured in 1970.
WOW thanx !!!
That particular S-64 belongs to San Diego Gas & Electric as per its logos and paint job, not Erickson Incorporated..

Have any new video from 2011?
I wonder why the leading edge of the vertical tail is shaped like that and not a smooth, rounded leading edge?
I maybe wrong but it is a ladder for inspection
