    Thanks for the video, it was just what I was after.
    For the first few burns, should I just put one log on and let it burn itself out? Or when that first log is on its way out should I put in a second log?

      Following on from the installation of the stove, we typically recommend to stick to burning through small amounts of kindling relatively often in order to bring the stove to a decent temperature to cure the paint as this isn't fully dried, this also hardens any wet seals i.e silicone or fire cement. You may also notice a haze from the stove along with a smell from the curing process, it's advised to open the windows and ventilate the room. You can have a standard fire the next day as things should have then set...

      @@Interiors4Living Thanks for getting back to me, it's really appreciated. So just to confirm for the very first fire I should just use kindling when the kindling is started to burn out I should then reload with more kindling. How long should I keep this first kindling fire going? Then the next day I should make a fire with the kindling jenga but when the kindling starts to burn well and move around I should put a log on. How long should I leave this second fire going for? Just one log or for a number of hours? Cheers George

      @@george1981e At first, just for the first day or so, burn completely through a set of kindling. Once that has burnt through you can then do the same again straight after. After that, it is best to leave it a few hours then repeat that step again later on in the day. Following on from this, yes on the next day you can build the kindling Jenga tower and as that starts to burn through and bring the stove up to temperature, you can then put a log on. At this stage and moving forward you will be able to use and operate the stove as normal so feel free to, when that log is beginning to burn out, place another log on. Out of curiosity, have you had a stove installed just yet or is it something that you are currently in the process of?

      @@Interiors4Living thank you, that’s very clear. We’ve just had a stove installed a parkray aspect 4 by Andy Yates who’s based in Wantage. His men gave us guidance on how to first use the stove but since then every single person we know with a log burner has given us their advice most of which is contradictory. Thanks for clearing up what we need to do.

    Hi, great video, thank you. I'm about to get a 5 or 6 watt stove. Is there an average amount of time a kilo log will burn or last for please?

    Just had a wood burner fitted and doing the curing fires.. the glass has a misty haze on it - will this disappear after a hotter fire? Thanks

    • @Interiors4Living
      @Interiors4Living  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes most stoves will automatically clean the glass once it gets to temprature just makesure you burn kilndried wood less than 20% mosture content!

    Have had a wood burner for over 10 years, The other evening without the fire on and for no reason the glass broke diagonally with a load ping what could have caused this

    • @Interiors4Living
      @Interiors4Living  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You may find that this is down to the heat lately and contraction. I suspect that you will have some metal glass retainer tabs which have been tightened a little too much, you may find that the crack runs from one of these.

    I watched this video and realised I’d been buying the wrong wood for the past 30 odd years. My mistake was I was using wood that had been seasoned over 2-3 years instead of buying the more expensive Kiln dried wood, which is made by using loads and loads of electricity to dry out the unseasoned wood! Doh 😣 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Van i place a TV on the wall above the stove fireplace?

    • @naeemhussain5246
      @naeemhussain5246 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi You can put your TV above as long as it is a stove similar style stoves to the video not a hole in the wall stove. We would reccomend you to put a beam below the TV maybe coming out 150mm off the wall to protect the TV from heat rising! I hope it helps!

    Nice but a wood stove in a chimney is a waste of energy ! You heat the chimney and the wall behind. A wood stove IN FRONT of the chimney is much more efficient (even the stove pipes can heat the living room and the all house !!!!!).
